Did you know that they sell the fish eggs to other hatcheries in different states? There wasn't much to see at the settling ponds and the brooding facility, but the main attraction was the lake trout brood stock area, where you can toss in fish food and watch as the fish fight over it. 25 cents for a handful of smelly fish food seemed like a bargain. We were very pleased with this accommodation. We like to cook in, and the kitchen is very well stocked. The back deck has a gas grill that worked perfectly. The ranch is awesome, the family/hosts were awesome too. Very down-to-earth, friendly, and excellent ambassadors of ranching in this area of Wyoming. Our cabin looked out over rolling hills all the way to the Big Horn Mountains. Even had a cowboy ride by the cabin multiple times each day! Call ahead to see if you can arrange a horse ride on the ranch. They really know their horses. Loved their dogs too. Would love to return.

I will begin by saying this veternary clinic saved our Frenchie Bulldogs life. We are from Arizona…read moreand spend the summers in Sheridan. We were getting ready to leave first week of October and on September 30th our dog Mavrick developed diarrhea and then started vomiting every 30 minutes or so. This went on for a couple hours and knew he had gotten into something but wasn't sure what. As the day went on it got much worse. About 6PM it turned into bloody vomit and bloody diarrhea. I called a clinic and got a vet on call. I won't mention any names of clinics, but he was rude and un- compassionate on the phone. His solution was to stop giving him food or water. I said he has blood coming out of both ends. He said unless I see him I won't know what's wrong and it was very obvious by his demeanor on the phone he didn't want to be bothered this night. During this phone call my daughter who lives in Sheridan approached me and said I have gotten in touch with Big Goose Veterinary Clinic and they are on the phone so I hung up my phone with the first vet and spoke with Dr. Gage. I told her what's going on with Mavrick and she said he needs to be seen immediately. She said I will meet you at my clinic in 30 minutes. My daughter and I placed Mavrick into my truck and took him to the clinic right away. Dr. Gage arrived in about 20 minutes. They brought us in, and she started diagnosing him as well as asking us what he might have gotten into. They took Maverick back to do some blood samples and x-rays. His blood work was all over the board. I couldn't begin to explain all the different readings as it was too technical for me. His red blood cell and white blood cell count were all out whack among other critical readings. He was very dehydrated as well. She couldn't really tell if there was something in his stomach because he was so dehydrated. She said he was too unstable to do a scope but hopefully soon they could. Dr. Gage came back to tell us she was pretty sure she knew what he had and that it was most likely HGE. With the symptoms that he had she said his life was very fragile right now. He stayed the night so they could monitor him and see what was going on. The next few days were touch and go. He didn't look good at all. His blood work was still all over the board. Three days after he was in the clinic he developed aspiration pneumonia. She said it was caused from him vomiting and he inhaled it into his lungs. This was a double whammy for Mavrick. His oxygen levels dropped really low and they had to put him in an oxygen kennel with constant monitoring. Later he had a canula inserted into his nose and was on oxygen all day long. He struggled for air for over 2 weeks. Also the Elk Fire was in progress and the air quality in Sheridan was abysmal which didn't help his breathing. I got updates everyday from Dr. Gage and she explained everything to us in detail. Everyday was a waiting game to see if he had improved. Mavrick wouldn't eat or drink anything. This went on for 9 days and she said he needs to eat very soon or he would be in trouble. She asked us to come and visit and bring some of his food he likes to see if we could get him to eat and lift his spirits. He wouldn't eat for us either. He was on an IV and they were giving him fluids and medication from the very beginning. Finally I believe after 5 or 6 days she said he was well enough to do a scope. When they were able to perform the scope they were able to suck out a bunch of nasty fluids that was identified in his stomach. She seemed to think this was from the HGE. We really thought this would help him feel better and it did slightly however the pneumonia really hit him hard. He was not out of the woods yet but he seems to be making a bit of progress. Everyday his oxygen levels seemed to get slightly better. They would let him move around the clinic from time to time and remove him from oxygen to see how he would do. This went on for many days and finally he was well enough to go home. He was there for 18 days. This Clinic is TOP NOTCH and Second to None. They are very knowledgeable and caring and because of there perseverance and dedication to healing Mavrick he got to go home. We are so glad we weren't on the long drive back to Arizona when all this happened. He could not have been in a better place to get the help he needed. Thank you to the entire Big Goose staff for saving Mavrick's life!

I called to get an idea of what pricing is for an annual K9 check-up. I was told about $60.00,…read morethen $50.00-$60.00. when I asked what the difference would be in prices I was put on hold. An older lady came to the phone and when I asked the same question I was given a cryptic vague answer. When I asked for more clarification. She asked if I had an appointment, I sad no, then I was told they are no longer taking new patients and that they are booking way out several months. But if I wanted, they could set an appointment 2 months out. I asked her why would they set an appointment for me if they weren't taking any new patients. I then thanked her for her time and said I would take my business elsewhere. I wouldn't take my furry friend here with the potential for games that these folks with play to get more money from you. Pet owner beware!!!
