Wanted to buy fish , and they gave me a hard time because I couldn't remember how big my tank was , lady was very rude took forever to get any one to help no one working the floor they were all hiding in the back, will never return to this location , instantly deleted the app after I wasted an hour of my time , taking my business some where else. You lost a customer for life. Avoid this place if you actually want to spend money. Update: Thank you for the response but I am going to be spending my money some where else. I was a customer, but I witnessed a manager Jason allow a customer to physically assault one of his employees. The employee was doing their best to help the customer and when he came over to intervene, he stood there allowed the customer to belittle the employee and then physically assault them. He never called authorities. He blamed his employee. I was appalled. If this is the way they treat the people that work for them. I don't need to be a customer. There would not recommend shopping there. read more

I brought my dog to Petco at least 3 times for grooming. Wendy is a real pro and she does a great job. She has excellent customer service skills and knows how to treat people as well as your pet. She asks a lot of questions to make sure she does exactly what you want. Recently, I made the mistake of booking with someone named Jennifer. This young lady has very poor customer service skills. You can tell she hates her job. Not only that, when I picked up my dog, she looked awful. My dog looked like a child took scissors and randomly cut her hair in different places. I don't believe she was bathed at all. The smell of dry shampoo was so strong, it made me sick AND she overcharged me. My dog has had itching problems since then and for other problems, I had to take her to the vet. I can't speak for other groomers who work there but I will only deal with Wendy from now on. If you get Jennifer as a groomer, you will be totally disappointed. She is either lazy or incompetent, a real hack job. Wendy is 5 stars and Jennifer is 1 star! read more

Our Aunt & Uncle tradition: We buy our Niece & Nephews on their Ninth Birthday a hamster of their choice. Of course, with their parents approval. This year was our youngest nephew's 9th birthday. In the past we have visited other non-Petco establishments with happy long lived results. However, for an unknown cause, "LuLu" pasted away over night three days later. Oy! She was taken back, but no others were available. Fortunately so, because an comfortable cloud followed our nephew from choosing another from the same store. A gift card was offered and accepted. He marched chin-up into another Petco and made his choice once again. Fingers crossed for "LuLu2." Update: It has been reported that "Norman" is alive and spinning his wheel like a fiend all night long. read more

Having recently moved back to CT from NC my dogs were in need of a good bath and groom. Sadly I waited 10 days to get them in to this Petco based on the decent reviews. To sum it all up, they did a CHOP JOB on both of my dogs. A Shih Tzu and a poodle. Bens tail chopped up and ears lopsided and Lily looks worse that when I brought her in. The greeting was cold and nonchalant, the surroundings sloppy. The cost $147 for 2 basic grooms. Do yourself a favor and groom them yourself. Couldn't be any worse! read more

It's an okay store for getting your pets a quick treat, I prefer local family owned stores not big box stores for pet supplies. I was a little disappointed today they were completely out of a lot of treats. Me and my hubs go in there sometimes to get our dogs the no or low odor bully sticks. They were completely out along with the more "natural" treats and nobody could tell me when they were getting them back. Just a tad disappointing. The store also looked a little upside down. It's just kind of a basic pet store. If I may suggest a store- I would go to Horse & Hound if you're looking for toys the will hold up to the toughest chewers and natural treats, they even have high quality CBD oil. They're never really low on anything. Just a bit disappointed by the stock today. read more

Kind of surprised that they do not have any reviews. We have had our puppy for about 6-months, she loves coming here there are always a lot of other dogs that she visits with, well behaved. Unlike a lot of pet stores in the area it isn't all kids that work here and people care about helping you and getting you real and correct answers. Good selection, but not a lot of bulk dog food or great prices on fish. Too bad they don't sell more things. read more

I have been a customer at this store for over 10 years one day i bought a few items as i usually do i spend a little over 80 bucks. I rescue all tyoes of animals and i had a hamster that i rescued well i was looking into water bottles and i picked one i didn't realize until after i paid for all of my things that i took the wrong one i was still infront of the cashier who was a new employee so i said to him oh dame i took the wrong one can i exchange it there the same price and what he said to me was i have to do a return so i sent my son to get the right water bottle and while he went to get it which the water bottles were right there this employee said to me hippidy hop to the end of the line i looked at him and than he said what do u think your special. My mouth dropped and beleive me i was angry. I told him that he's rude as hell and that's not how you speak to customers. So i went to the end of the line which i had to problem with most employees would have said please hold one sec let me just take care of singe of these customers and I'll take care of you no problem. So im talkibg on the phone to my son who's waiting for me outside this employee while ringing other customers talking crap about me so i told him i can hear you when i got infront of him he started to disrespect me than he stated that while i was on the phone i called him a nigga well im hispanic and i told him i never called him anything i was talking to my son and we were talking about my youngest son and i said can you beleive this nigga. So i said to this man i never called him that and i said im hispanic and he said so you aint black he continued to piss me off and i was talking loud and my son thought i needed his help but no there employee came to see what the problem was. But when i asked to talk to a manager that employee didn't care and the employee that i spike to lied to me he told me there was no managers available until 2 weeks which when i decided to come in 2 days later i asked one if the cashier for there corporate office number he asked out he could help me which he's known me the first thing that came out of my mouth was that there was no manager available come to find out he was a manager. Anyways even after i talked to this manager about his employee Maurice he told me not to worry sorry i experience that, that he's seen me be a regular customer for years and I've never had any issues in that store but he never did anything when i ran into this employee his last comment to me was all if that for nothing he never even apologized for his actions. Im so appalled with the way that situation was handled which wasn't handled at all. I was talking really loud and no one came to my aid and that is sad. I try my best not to come into that store if i don't really have to but i live right down the street. But im so uncomfortable all because of that situation and how this employee feels like he disrespected me and nothing nothing happened to him. So to everyone out there when going to Windsor petco on kennedy road be aware and if you have a complaint about another employee don't bother talking to anyone about it your waisting your breath nothing will happen. I may not have handled myself great but this man went out of his way to talk to me the way that he did it was to the point were my older son felted like he had to come in to help me cause he was hearing everything over my phone and it made him angry that anotherman was disrespecting his mother and i told him when he came in not to worry ill talk to a manager and that employee laughed. Not great reptile care here... I was sold a gecko with visually severe Metabolic Bone Disease (before I knew what that was) and most reptile enclosures are overcrowded and dirty. Animals prone to intestinal impaction are kept on sand and humidity is hardly ever correct. Not one of the better Petco stores in CT. read more

Hi, was looking for a device for my turtle's aquarium and found one online for only $7.99 it was a turtle dock. Was hoping to get one sooner than later so stopped in PEPCO but they were double the price. The girl working there said we match any competitor's price so if you show me it cheaper I can honor it but I forgot my cell phone at home. She said well come back tomorrow so Saturday morning I was so excited to get it but decided to call first to confirm in case that girl wasn't working, I spoke to a different employee who was a manager and I told her about it and she asked for the name of the site. I told her and she said yes, we'll honor it c'mon in. I got there and went to the register and was rung up by a man who said he was the store manager and said we do not match prices only for Petco. I tried to explain two employees had already said they would honor it. He said listen I'm the store manager and I'm not honoring and continued to ring it up at his price. He did not want to hear anything I had to say, the point I never asked about this, the kind, caring, person working Friday night was nice enough to tell me about it and suggested it so for me to call before driving all the way back there and getting a second confirmation to be treated with such disrespect was very sad it makes me never want to go back there again. Personally, I feel since two employees had already said they do it, he should of honored it. It would be different if I heard about it on social media or other but the store itself had shared it. He had no manners or personality whatsoever sad to think someone so cold hearted and rude would be in charge. read more

I was disappointed by the very limited food selection for cats. When I came to bring back a bag of food per the suggestion of my vet, the manager had an attitude about it and claimed there was "nothing he could do" because I didn't have a receipt. I was told my $32.99 bag of food was only worth $8. A 15# bag of Merrick has never been $8. Went to Manchester where they were more than willing to help and get me a better fit product for my cats. read more

Absolutely love this store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I purchase my dog food and guinea pig products here but also like to go in just to visit the puppies! Store is very clean compared to the other pet stores in the area. read more
