They did xrays only that day and came back and specifically told me that cavities weren't the cause of my issue. That it was Periodontitis and I need to do this special deep under the gum cleaning that cost me over $300 after insurance for just ONE side of my mouth. So they schedule this for the toothache side first, I'm in the chair nearly done with the procedure when they ask me when I'm coming in to get crowns for my cavities. I'm like "What are you talking about I was told I didn't have cavities, I was told this gum issue was my problem." So now suddenly I actually do have cavities and of course their recommendation is they want to do the most expensive thing they can, crowns, and AFTER insurance going to cost me another $1300 out of pocket. I held off on scheduling of course I don't have that kind of money. I give my mouth a few weeks to heal from the gum issue to see if my problem subsides, it does not unfortunately, so it was definitely the cavities they told me wasn't a problem on the initial visit that's was causing my toothache. I called the office up and tell them they were wrong it wasn't the gum issue, it was in fact the cavities and I'm still in pain. I cancel the prescheduled visit for the gum procedure for the other side of my mouth and tell them i need the thing I came in for, the flippin toothache resolved before i do anything else, and I need a normal drill and fill of my cavities as I cannot afford $1300 for crowns or if that isn't an option then extraction. "We don't usually do that anymore but I'll talk with the dentist tomorrow and call you" I even gave her express permission to leave all details in a voicemail if I can't answer. Completely ghosted, tried calling them days later, ghosted. This place is a scam, I came in there for a toothache and was lied to, to get extra money out of, then they try and con me into the most expensive thing they can do and when I tell them that is not an affordable option and put my foot down, they stop communicating. TERRIBLE DENTIST OFFICE. AVOID. They may ultimately, eventually fix you issue but that is only after they milk you and your dental insurance of everything they can.

Staff is great from the front office to the hygienists to Dr. Wilkins. Couldn't imagine moving at this point. When I graduated and moved to my own insurance, I ended up switching to a different dentist. When some old issues arose (TMJ related), I was trying to figure out who I would go to who would be trustworthy and helpful. I immediately remembered Dr. Gillum. His website is comprehensive and explains a lot of different treatments that they offer. When I went in for my first appointment, it was amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and took all of the time that I needed in order to share my concerns regarding my jaw and the frequent headaches I had been having.
