Neath Port Talbot Care & Repair

We have had many different repairs made around the house and garden by this wonderful organisation…read more They were established to help elderly and disabled members of the community who are not able to do the work themselves. They are very professional and the work is always of the highest standard and so reasonably priced, too. Over the past few years we have met most members of the team and they are all so friendly, courteous and helpful. No job is too small even those little things like putting up curtain runners and coat hooks which most builders will not take on. Highly recommended.
Wyevale Garden Centres

This is one of my favourite places to meet my mum and sister for a coffee and a chat…read more As the other reviews have stated, there is a big cafe inside, with a wide selection of food and drink on the menu. There's something for everyone, ranging from a snack to a full roast dinner. I'm usually tempted by one of their gorgeous cakes (there goes the diet again!), and their latte coffees are lush. Once you'd filled up, you can look around the rest of the shop. It's changed a lot over the years. It used to be predominantly a garden centre, but now it seems that a large part of the store is taken over by gifts. There's a wide selection of unusual gifts and at this time of year, their range of Christmas decorations is second to none. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it in my opinion.

But if im honest the best thing about Wyevale in Swansea is their cafe. I really love their food, It is very clean and spacious for buggies. I sometimes go in have food and come straight out again.

Richard Jones is a carpet and flooring retailer located on Broad Street, just a few minutes' walk…read morefrom the Barry railway station. Richard Jones carries rugs, laminate flooring, carpet (as you can infer by the name), and vinyl. The first things you notice when you walk are the massive rolls of carpet clinging to the walls, making you feel diminutive by comparison. This place definitely caters to both industrial and domestic customers, judging by the wide selection of flooring on offer here. The back wall is lined with rolls upon rolls of remnants, even floor-sized cuttings, so it's worth stopping by if you're not in the market for a flooring overhaul and just want a few pick n' mix pieces. The gentlemen who work here are really friendly and helpful, but equally happy to let you browse the showroom floor.

I wouldn't hesitate to use penarth carpets again in the future as the service was just first class and very friendly.Another point to remember if you visit the shop is mind the step! A nice person can come to your house with more mini-carpets and then you can look how they look on your floor. They'll measure and they know what they're doing even in metric. They don't just do carpets but also laminate flooring and lino (does that still actually exist? Or has it been re-visioned as vinyl flooring?) Peter used to run it but now it's his son and daughter (Anthony and Sue) that are carrying on the business. My neighbour used to work there too and their house had very lovely carpets. My carpet was lovely too but the cat thought it would be nice to sharpen her claws on. Careful though - they close at noon on Sat and don't open at all on Sun.

I've brought a lintel, some silicone, a lock and lengths of wood from M and R. I've found them chatty and knowledgable. It's very easy to just drive in and load up your van or car, without attempting to find a place to park on the busy and double yellowed Cowbridge road. Two beautiful Alsatians guard the yard after dark and a caravan is tucked in the corner. I'm not sure who lives in it, it may be a fancy kennel for the Alsatians I fancy.
