Mrs. Susie and her team are so lovely with the kids! The space is always super tidy and clean. The kids have a lot of freedom to play and socialize. There are plenty of toys, books, art, and zones that cycle by season. Susie and her team are communicative and organized. Drop-off in the mornings is quick and easy. Pick-up in the evening is the same or when we wanted to chat with staff for a few minutes they would always give us a minute. There are only 12 children; it is a very intimate environment, which I love and appreciate a lot. When our family was deciding where to enroll our son, we visited many preschools. While we appreciated something about each one, none felt quite like the right fit. Some classrooms were too large, some environments felt chaotic, some teachers seemed less engaged, and others felt more like daycare than a preschool with a thoughtful curriculum. Then we found AMCH, and it felt like a dream. From the moment we walked in, we noticed the difference. The classrooms were beautifully organized, warm, and child-friendly. There was a wonderful sense of calm throughout the school, and the teachers were welcoming, kind, engaged, and genuinely happy to be there. We immediately knew this was the environment we wanted for our son. Needless to say, we chose AMCH, and I could not be more grateful for the experience. Watching our son grow and thrive there was incredibly rewarding. The staff provided him with structure, encouragement, and, most importantly, so much love and care. What makes AMCH especially remarkable is its staff, in particular Xina Laoshi and Ms. King. This dynamic duo is truly exceptional. They provide a wonderful bilingual Montessori-style curriculum while creating a classroom environment that is calm, engaging, nurturing, and joyful. They have an incredible ability to connect with children and meet each child exactly where they are. They put so much thought and effort into getting to know each child as an individual. They truly learn who your child is--what motivates them, where they may need support, and how they can help them grow. You can see this firsthand during parent conferences. It is clear that they genuinely know your child, and their developmental assessments are incredibly comprehensive and thoughtful. They provide detailed insight into each area of development, which made us feel that our son was truly seen and understood. We saw the impact of that care even after our son graduated from AMCH and started elementary school. We were so proud to see how well prepared he was. He was thriving academically and transitioned successfully. The hardest part for him was leaving behind his beloved teachers and friends. Xina Laoshi was incredibly thoughtful during this transition. She welcomed him back in the afternoons with open arms so he could spend time with his old friends and even told us that he is always welcome to visit. That gesture meant so much to our family. She truly made us feel that we would always be part of the AMCH family. The communication from the school is also outstanding. We received weekly updates recapping what the children had been learning and what was planned for the following week, along with weekly photos that gave us a glimpse into our son's days--learning, exploring, playing, and having so much fun with his classmates. The amount of thought, time, and effort that goes into keeping families so informed is no small feat, and it truly does not go unnoticed. It is clear that these updates are created with genuine care and intention, and they gave us such a wonderful connection to our son's experience at school. As parents, it meant so much to feel included in his learning and to see all the little moments that made his days special. Another unexpected highlight was the food. The meals provided are fresh, healthy, and delicious. They gave our son opportunities to try foods he otherwise might not have been willing to eat, and we loved seeing him become more adventurous with what he ate. More than anything, what stands out about AMCH is the genuine care and love they give to every child. From the lead teachers and classroom helpers to the cook, Vincent, and everyone else who contributes to the school community, every person plays a part in creating such a warm and nurturing environment. They care not only about the children, but also about their siblings and families. You can feel that this is a community built around supporting the whole family. AMCH is so much more than a preschool. It is a place where children are nurtured, encouraged, respected, and genuinely loved. We feel incredibly fortunate that our son had the opportunity to spend his early years there. I cannot recommend Alameda Montessori Children's House enough. I sincerely hope other families have the opportunity to experience the warmth, care, and magic of this school. AMCH will always hold a very special place in our hearts--it is truly a gem.

All of the staff are extremely patient and skilled at helping children process their emotions. Guest teachers come regularly to teach mindfulness, art, and martial arts. The classroom is bright, inviting, and filled with a rotation of interesting activities, and the outdoor space is large and filled with vegetables and fruit trees that the children help plant, care for, and enjoy. Lisa NaiNai prepares the most delicious and nutritious lunch for the children with a menu sent out at the start of each week that would make any fan of Chinese/Taiwanese food want to partake. My daughter came home everyday excited to tell us about all of the interesting things she did that day and excited to show off her math and Mandarin reading and writing skills. We feel so lucky to have been a part of this community for the last 1.5 years and could not recommend it more highly for parents seeking a school where their children can thrive!

She cares deeply for each of her students and it shows in their behavior outside of daycare. She maintains a very clean and well-run in-home daycare with excellent co-teachers, and she provides daily lunch and snacks, which is a huge plus. Our son was at Ms. Ling's over two years until he had to transition into a larger school with more advanced curriculum, and it was a tough change because we love Ms. Ling's school so much. Our son frequently still asks to visit Ms. Ling! Ms. Ling maintains a structured program, which is so helpful raising little ones. She teaches in both English and Mandarin (and some of her native Cantonese) and, even though we don't speak Mandarin in the home, our son learned both languages. Ms. Ling also teachers manners, respect, and independence. I was always impressed to see my son come home having learned new ways to take care of himself without my help, as Ms. Ling priorities autonomy and teaches her students to take care of themselves and others. When it was time to potty train, Ms. Ling even suggested we get pull-ups and start synchronizing our efforts at home and at school. It was effortless! I could count on one hand the number of incidents that happened over the 2+ years we were enrolled at Ms. Ling's, and that included two instances of other kids biting my son and only a couple small "owies" from the playground. I was always reminded how safe the school is and how responsible Ms. Ling and her teachers are when she told me as soon as possible of anything that happened at school, but incidents were very rare and very well-handled by the teachers. My son always felt safe and comfortable at school, as did I as a parent. I'll never be able to adequately express my gratitude for Ms. Ling for all she has done for our family helping to raise our child, and I wouldn't hesitate to send any more babies or toddlers to her school! I wish I could assign 10 out of 5 stars for Lingling's Daycare!

The owner/director left the state without naming a replacement, leaving the center without clear leadership. Around the same time, tuition increased nearly 30%, while the quality declined, especially food -- kids were regularly served boxed mac and cheese and sandwiches. We experienced frequent early pick-up calls for very minor, age-appropriate behavior (not sharing toys, birthday party comments), while hitting was normalized as "kids being kids." Some 3-4-year-olds were expelled for normal play under unclear rules. After raising concerns about the lack of direction, our enrollment was terminated. The teachers are good, and Miss Ale is excellent with the kids. However, I would strongly advise parents to be cautious about the current management and leadership, especially if you plan to speak up.

My child knows all parts of the egg. I don't know what a chalaza, but my daughter does. When she was 4, she learned about Rosa Parks. She has been on the bus with teachers and has seen the US Hornet. They hatch butterflies, have police and fireman come, have animals come. They teach conflict resolution early. Trust me it is noticeable when you go to playgrounds. She writes her letters almost as good as my 2nd grader who did not do the presentation k class at fuzzy. Healthy Kids: My son never came home with diaper rash from someone not changing his diaper. They play outside and have an awesome Facebook group run by the parents for disease control. Food: There food is cooked onsite in their clean kitchen daily and nutritious. There is a small fee for lunches to be included. Friday you have to bring you own. They watch for allergy causing food, if you tell them. Working Parent Coverage: When my children started at Fuzzy, my husband and I were both working. They provide 7AM-6PM coverage. They also have pizza movie night once a month on Friday for that "oh-so-allusive" date night you and your spouse keep talking about. Management: The school is run by two sisters who have or are sending your their own kids there. Even when my husband lost his job and we had to drop out for a while, they worked with us to give us the most coverage they could without hurting their business. They also welcomed us back with open arms once we recovered. I have never noticed anything wrong with their administration. I get my tax documents on time to deduct the childcare expenses for my taxes. Tuition: This is the hard one. This is not the cheapest pre-school. My husband and I though many times we could find a less expensive one. We looked at the quality of care and the kindergarten readiness. It was not worth it to move. We could not find a comparable that offers what Fuzzy offers. For example, I had my daughter assessed by AUSD and the assessor said my daughter's language processing skills were off the charts advanced. I blame Fuzzy. Advice to Parents: Sign-up for a tour. There is a waiting list. You may have to be patient and wait, because in this parent's opinion-they are that good. It normally took a month to a month and half to get in, but if you call in they will tell you where they are on the list. They have regulations on how many kids they can take based on the number or teachers and the licensing board. Overall Summary: My kids are happy and my son still runs to his old teachers even though it has been 4 years since he has been at that school. They love your kids.
