My daughter attended Treehouse from age 3 through 5. Treehouse is such a sweet, supportive, wonderful school. We are not religious, but chose Treehouse due to the great reviews, nice campus, and lack of teacher turnover (pretty much all of the teachers have been there for many years), and are so glad we did. Every member of the staff knows all of the kids by name, and the love they have for the children, and the children for the teachers and staff in return, is palpable. Treehouse is a perfect mix of fun play and deep learning of important life skills, expected behavior in the school environment, and academic curriculum. We are sad to have aged out of Treehouse for now, but look forward to returning with our younger child in a few years for the two year old class. read more

My son attended Treehouse for 2 years and my daughter attended some of their summer school offerings. I cannot say enough good things about this school. 1. The campus is beautiful. Classrooms are clean and beautifully decorated. It is set in the trees so it feels like a real retreat. The playground is beautiful and fully equipped with all kinds of toys. 2. The teachers are beyond! Each one is so loving and kind and fully invested in loving and supporting the kids. They got to know my entire family - grandparents visiting, siblings, etc. and took a vested interest in our entire family. They are kind, engaging, joyful, energetic, and professional. Most of the teachers have been there for several decades and I know that is largely due to the incredible warmth that Principal Jan and Kayla set as the administration of the school. There is truly no place I have ever visited with the same warmth and kindness. 3. The curriculum is impressive! I am shocked about how well my son is prepared for TK. They are doing kindergarten level work in preschool. But of course it is mostly fun and playing and art. I am amazed by all the creative projects he comes home with and the patience and attention to detail it must require from the staff. When we first moved into the nearby neighborhood, we started hearing about Treehouse because a few family members went through the program 35+ years ago! We then heard of other neighboring families who sent their children to Treehouse more recently. At the time we were looking for preschools for my son, it was a no brainer to add Treehouse to our list of schools to look into. The director Jan gave us a personal tour, telling us about the different classes, their values and how they support the children through the days and the years. One thing that stood out to us during the tour was how calm and happy the children were in their classrooms! The environment seemed to be a good fit for our son - and 3 years of attending Treehouse we have had no regrets. Two of my children attended Treehouse preschool. One from preschool to pre-k and the other from little angels to preschool. My children benefited both academically and emotionally from their time at Treehouse. The curriculum is outstanding and really prepared them for elementary school but more importantly they learned how to socialize and get along with others. Skills to last beyond school. As a parent of a young child, it can be daunting and a little bit scary to decide where you leave your young child and who do you trust for the safety of your young little child, as well as the love care and values that could be instilled at such a young age. Luckily, we discovered Tree House and the incredible family of teachers there. Several parents recommended Tree House to us and we are so lucky and fortunate that both our children went to Treehouse. The fact that some of the teachers have been there for over 20 years and the culture and leadership of Director Jan is a clear testament of their impact and makes this the best choice one could ever hope for when it comes to putting your kids through preschool and getting them ready for kindergarten. I feel so lucky to have found Treehouse Preschool. Treehouse is not just a daycare, it is a learning environment that is focused on nurturing the whole child. Our son has grown and learned so much in the short time he's been at Treehouse and I am impressed with the teachers' patience and dedication to all the children. They have a very productive yet fun day. He is only 3 and a half and knows all his letters, can count up to 20 and is starting to learn lowercase letters. Additionally, the teachers all teach beyond just education. Most importantly to me, they instill values like respect and kindness for everyone which is really important to me as that is the foundation for their future. Everyday he has various art projects he has worked on that he brings home which are both fun while learning how to draw lines, shapes and practicing holding pencils / markers. Every teacher we had was just amazing from teacher Loretta (who was a potty training pro) to teacher Heather who our son was so attached to. To teacher Jenna and Jill and Dr. Jan. We enrolled him at Treehouse for his final year of preschool and are so glad we did. Treehouse does such a great job of creating a safe and welcoming space for kids to learn, play, and develop friendships with other kids. Teacher Jenna and teacher Carmen were a dream and supported and loved and *taught* the kids so much. We really appreciated the emphasis on academics- our son's writing developed by leaps and bounds thanks to his teachers' instruction. Teacher Jenna's art projects were always a joy to take home. All three of my children attended Treehouse from the Little Angels (2-yo) to TK/K age (5/5.5-yo). Academically speaking, by the time they moved on to the public school elementary school, all of them were happy, ready and advance in their reading, comprehension and Math. Staff excellence: the teachers were loving and outstanding! My children enjoyed their class, and loved their teachers. Many of them have been there for over 10 years. That says a lot about the leadership of Dr. Jan. She never failed to celebrate her staff and would go above and beyond in providing the best care. As far as I know, teachers who left were either retired or moved out of state. The admin office in general were great! Their door was always open and they responded to our inquiries promptly. Character & spiritual growth: all of my children grow up to be loving, compassionate, and love God. We believe this started at an early age. We trusted Treehouse Preschool to teach our children the love of God that is well instilled along with their academic curriculum. Both of my kids went to Treehouse for 3+ years. I could not recommend it any higher. The director has been there for 20+ years and runs a great program. The teachers truly care about kids and get to know each one on an individual basis. They still ask how my kids are doing whenever I run into one of their teachers. The classrooms are clean and well-stocked with fun toys. In fact years after my kids graduated from TH they wanted to go back and play with those toys! :) There's a great multi-level, shaded play area outside. The community of parents is wonderful as my family is still friends with some of the parents we met 10 years ago at Treehouse. The faith component is not forced down anyone's throat but is presented gently and carefully with respect for all backgrounds. 8 years ago my husband and I needed a preschool to send my then 2 year old to, my aunt recommended Treehouse. We went for the interview and immediately fell in love with the school. It's nestled amongst trees and so much wildlife - birds, butterflies and deers(!). The classrooms were clean, organized, bright and filled with joy. While we were on the interview I casually had mentioned that I was previously a preschool teacher and I had my necessary units, and just like a movie script or more like a sign from God, Jan (the Director), asked if I was looking for a job and that they were hiring and we should set up an interview. I was a little too stunned to speak so my husband said, "yes - to all of that", and the rest is, as they say, history - or in my case present? Ever since then, I have been a preschool teacher, now head teacher of the Pre-K classroom, here at Treehouse. As a parent, Treehouse has been essential to the educational, emotional and social growth of both of my children (who are now 10 & 8). They learned (and retained) so much, not just their letters, numbers, shapes and colors, but they learned how to take turns, how to listen to directions, how to express their opinions, how to share and how to be kind, and most important they learned about the power of God and the love of Jesus. As a teacher/employee, Treehouse has been a wonderful place to work at. There is a strong sense of community and teamwork. I feel like the teachers understand early childhood development and know how to teach in a way that the students respond to. The biggest thing I can say about working here is that being a mom of 2, stuff happens, lots of stuff that isn't necessarily planned - and if I had to leave early because one of the boys got sick or if I had to call out because of an emergency there was never a feeling of guilt or "You owe us" - it has always been 'Go be a mom and take care of your kids - we understand' Which, I know isn't the case everywhere, but I feel like that speaks volumes on the work environment. I'm so lucky to find treehouse!!! My son was in a Montessori school from 2 to 3 and half years old. And he had been complaining about going to school when he was 3. It added so much pressure for me try to get him to school in the morning. Then I started looking for a new school for him. We waited the school year finished in June. And we had been looked around school not too far from us, but no lucky. And someone mentioned about treehouse. We didn't know it's a church school at the first and we are so delighted what we found. It's a homey school. The staffs are so happy and smiling. Going there make me happy and after 1 week in there, my son woke up with diaper and ask going to school! And he can sing cute songs and he had been given us hugs after come home. It is a life saver and sweet feeling for us. I love the director Jan and teachers. They love the kids too. I see Jan call the kids:" my love,..." and the kids just love her and gave her hugs like their grandma! I hope this school keep happy and people come there can feel that way too! My kids attended Treehouse (Little Angels - Pre-K and Pre-K-TK) from 2021-2023. We LOVED it, as did our kids. The teachers made each of them feel safe and loved and like they belonged. This establishment is so well run, but what stands out the most are the caring, nurturing and loving and diverse teachers and admin. We love Treehouse Preschool! We aren't the most religious household but we decided to take a chance and put our kids at Treehouse. The tender love and kindness they show the children is incredible. I cannot recommend Treehouse enough! The teachers are all so kind and caring, and the program is exceptional. My daughter "graduated" with really strong writing skills, and basic math concepts, and she had no idea she was learning. My son attended Treehouse for 2 years, and we really enjoyed it and wished the school went to a higher grade level. We ended up at Treehouse, after searching for schools to attend, and a school we initially decided to go with fell through. I saw the great yelp reviews Treehouse had and at the time they had some openings, for my son's age group. I went ahead and scheduled a tour with the Director, and immediately felt good vibes. Being a first-time mom, I was hesitant about my son being in school full time I wanted to ease him into it, but due to restrictions around COVID, they only had openings for full time registration M-F. So we went ahead and signed him up and I am glad we did. He learned so much there. All of the teachers there are AMAZING! They are all very caring and loving. Send your kids here! Treehouse is a wonderful, loving, and beautiful school for your little ones. Our oldest boy attended the school from ages 2-5, and our youngest was there as a 2 until we moved to a different location. The school was more than we could have hoped for, largely because of the teachers. There is very low turnover (always a good sign), so my kids were able to really bond with them and feel secure during their long days away from home. The strong teacher group also resulted in very well behaved kids that were positive towards each other and eager to learn. The environment is pretty structured, which has turned out to be a really great thing when transitioning to public kindergarten and the much lower teacher to student ratio. My oldest son is so well prepared now I have no worries about his ability to keep up in public school without that extra one on one attention. The school is quite religious, which my family is not necessarily, but it has been a wonderful gift to my boys. They learned all the traditional, positive Christian values that any kid should learn regardless of religious affiliation, and I'm now watching my sons bring that strength and love into their new schools. We miss the teachers dearly but are so thankful for the time my kids had there. If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would! read more

Treehouse is a wonderful, extremely well run preschool with great facilities, nurturing teachers and excellent curriculum. This school has been around for a long time and it shows - they know how to do things well. I currently have a 5 yo in the kinder program, and a 3 yo in the preschool program. Prior to Treehouse, we were at a small, progressive play-based preschool. By the end of our second year there, I could tell that my son was ready for more challenges and structure. He has thrived in this new environment. The one concern that I had was that the classes are quite large. However, the teachers are extremely loving and they get to know each of the kids very well so this has not been an issue for us. Other factors I'll note - the school administration is very well run leading to both happy parents and low teacher turn-over, the hours are fantastic for working families, tuition is quite low compared to other programs in Oakland, the families are diverse, and they have a great outdoor playspace. One thing you should know is that this is definitely a religious school so you have to be comfortable with that - they will hear bible stories, sing Christian songs, pray before meals, and celebrate the Christian holidays. Special shout out to Teacher Loretta in the Little Angels classroom who helped us potty train our younger son last year and got him ready to start preschool. She's the best. read more

This preschool program is in a word - magical. I had the great pleasure of finding it when I lived in Oakland for my older son. I just knew when I walked in and took a tour - that it was the place for us. My son attended for three years- the preschool, then pre-K program. He grew and learned so much emotionally and spiritually, in this nurturing and safe environment. Then fast forward 10 years and my twins also attended the little angels program all the way through to kindergarten. I have so many fond memories of them learning, growing, creating art and singing. The teachers, and director over the years were all exceptional (many were still there 10 years later!)- each with an amazing caring style and special talents. Treehouse Preschool is one of my favorite places, with one of the best communities and kindest teachers and administrators I have ever met. They really care about their kids and families. Every day I looked forward to seeing my son thrive in a classroom of teachers and students who genuinely loved him. My son had to leave his Pre-K school year a bit early, as we moved across the country. The director Dr. Jan Facetimed us at our new house so he could visit with the classmates, whom he missed and who missed him. My son started out in the Little Angels program when he was 2. He grew from a little wildfire into such a conscientious little man. At his new school, everyone remarks on his kindness and intelligence, which Treehouse played a tremendous role in cultivating. Our hearts our full with gratitude and love for this place. Our oldest son attended here since just over 2 until we moved abroad when he turned 4. The director has vast experience, wisdom and is so approachable and warm to families. The teachers are excellent, confident warm humans who go out of their way to make learning fun. Facilities are so well organised, clean, varied, sophisticated and stimulating. They nurtured our children and a sense of community. When we left they made a book of drawings and messages from all our son's friends and teachers and to this day we read it with happy tears and thanks. They were even available to email and FaceTime with us once we had been away for a few weeks, which really helped our son connect past and present and process the move. Above and beyond - so kind.
