There technician (Bill) was very thorough and found two leaks in my ductless AC unit. Bill could have stopped at the first leak he found but continued to look and found the second leak. If he didn't do that they would have had to come out again in the future when the unit was discharged. He repaired and recharged the system and I'm good to go. Absolutely Avoid This Company - Negligence, Incompetence, and Complete Lack of Follow-Through - Not a Company who stands by their word or clients! If a zero-star rating were an option, Peterson would unequivocally earn it. Like another customer who shared a similarly disheartening experience, we learned firsthand about their profound lack of expertise and questionable integrity. We contacted Peterson to diagnose an issue with our brand new mini-split system. Their technician, Gabe, arrived and, instead of conducting a thorough troubleshooting diagnostic, immediately began recharging the unit with refrigerant after only a superficial inspection of all three components. While on the phone, Gabe was then instructed to check if the unit was frozen over. Indeed, it was, indicating the lines outside were likely reversed. He proceeded to the outdoor unit, audibly muttering "dummy, dummy, dummy," which, while apparently directed at himself, was unprofessional and unsettling. Still on the phone, Gabe called for assistance to recover the 2 pounds of refrigerant he proceeded to put into the system without any knowledge of how much was in the system. Alarmingly, they proceeded to lose a significant amount of refrigerant, due to faulty equipment and improper procedures. After multiple failed attempts to recover the refrigerant, they depleted the entire supply in our outdoor unit and then declared we had a leak - an issue that was not present and which we suspect was a blatant upcharge to cover their own mishandling of the refrigerant. But they were able to maybe recover 1 pound because they charged us for the other pound, which we have nothing to show for. And what kind of supposed competent professional technician needs to be on the phone with someone else the entire time he is doing his job? As a direct result of Gabe's incompetent service, our mini-split system is now completely inoperable. When we contacted Peterson (after a 5 and 1/2 minute hold) to discuss a fair resolution regarding the damage caused by Gabe's errors, Ben promised to call us back the same day with a solution and acknowledging that they have "had problems in the past" assuming he meant Gabe. It is now over 48 hours later, and we have received absolutely no communication. This complete lack of follow-through demonstrates not only extreme unprofessionalism but also a blatant disregard for their word and their customers. Consistent with the experiences of other reviewers in our community, it has become clear that negative encounters with Peterson are not isolated incidents. It is deeply concerning that a business can operate with such a clear pattern of incompetence and indifference towards its clientele. We feel utterly exploited and are now burdened with additional, unforeseen costs to rectify the damage directly caused by Gabe's ineptitude, a situation compounded by their broken promise of a follow-up. Save yourself the aggravation, the financial burden, and the sheer frustration - do not engage Peterson. Their lack of expertise, coupled with their complete lack of accountability and professionalism, is simply unacceptable. We strongly advise others to seek more competent and reputable service elsewhere in Grand Junction. Can I get a negative star button? I called Thursday looking for a simple HVAC inspection in Montrose which they said they had no trouble servicing. I inquired about pricing & was told 129 EACH system and they would not charge the 59.99$ dispatch fee. I was given a 12-2pm window on Monday. Raymon the tech calls at 12:34 pm already inside the appointment window to let me know he needs to " cancel or reschedule" according to his voicemail. He's stuck in Fruita & cannot arrive in Montrose until 2:30. Ok. Unprofessional and inconvenient since there are 2 households and 2 real estate agents involved in moving the time window but ok... life happens. I communicate exactly what I need again since clearly they are not super organized. The tech says to email him my info and he will call for payment when he's done with the job. I text the tech my email and my phone rings again. It's the office. The tech had called to let them know I'm " requesting more items be done". And payment must be received in the next 15 minutes or they won't show up?! Ummm okay Robin, the most rude owner I've ever spoken to. No wonder you have a 4.2 rating. You interrupted me 3 times to tell me what I hadn't scheduled. I'm aware of what I scheduled. Listen to the calls, I'm sure you record and realize your dead wrong. I scheduled both services and tried to pay. My mind is complete blown at what an unorganized, incompetent hot mess this place is. I also love that you Robin threatened to sue to me leaving a review. Be VERY careful with this company. Hot spell (105 degrees F), only company which had opening in schedule for next 4 days. Made mistake only checking CoC reviews, which since realize appears only post good reviews. In a bind with Split Heat Pump system not providing cooling. Indoor fan within fan coil unit operating but air from inside register ~ 80 degrees F. Had electronics cover on outside condenser unit "electronics" off and visibly see the capacitor had failed (black and bulging). Service tech wanted to first check refrigerant level and some other settings which in hindsight resulted in helping to get to full hour of "Diagnostic Per Hour" fee. Finally, agreed most likely bad capacitor. Checked truck and had replacement from mid to lower priced aftermarket brand. Replacement labor + part totaled some $270. Questioned price for part + labor and informed this what cost. Since could not find anyone else consented to price gouging service. After left removed cover obtain capacitor Mfg & model...could buy from several Internet supply companies for ~ $43 + avg. $6.99 shipping. Removal + install took about 10-15 minutes. Oh, by the way, also charge $25 "Dispatch Fee". You have been warned. read more

The two men that showed up called before they arrived to let me know when they would be here. Although it was after the scheduled time I appreciate the call. Once here both me. Put on booties to protect the house carpet. They went straight to work. The work was done in a professional manner and both serve men were very professional. Once done they cleaned up and made sure I was satisfied with the work done. When the heat quit working during the night I called the next day, the same men returned and fixed an issue not related to the work they did the day before at no charge. It was just a disconnected thermostat wire. Again both men were very professional. Recommend using this company for your HVAC needs. read more

Was given a quote that had a total price, but not a price break down. When I asked for a price break down I was told they are a flat rate company. I asked for the price break down with the flat rate and parts and was asked if I wanted the service or not. My hands were tied at this point as the service needed to be done immediately. Stay away! Booked appointment for 8:00 am. At 8:30 called to inquire about arrival of technician. Apparently my appointment was lost. Appointment rescheduled. Technician (Jeff) arrived to perform inspection. Didn't inspect anything. Didn't even come prepared with a flashlight. Used iPhone light to look into dark crawl space. Light was insufficient to see anything. Didn't even turn furnace on to see if it functions. Did however try to sell me a service plan. And then wanted to charge me for what turned from a service call to a sales call. When I inquired what I was receiving for my money, technician became defensive and lacked professionalism. Technician called boss (john) who was also unable to tell me what service I was receiving for my money. To john's credit, after complaining I was not billed for the sales call. Great company! Fair and honest. We had a collapsed main line in our 110-year-old home in Fruita. We received a quote that was cheaper than several other plumbers in the area. We did not have to excavate the entire line which enabled us to save our trees. Roger and Tim were hard working, fast and kept us informed. These rip offs gave me a bid of $315 to change out a toilet I,purchased. I had it installed today for $60.

I called these people a few years ago, I wanted a new kitchen sink I had bought installed. The told me they went by their flat rate book price for installations and it would be $600. I know enough to know that it would take less that 2 hours for a job like this. I then called Double Diamond plumbing and they told me at that time they were $85 an hour rate and would just charge by the hour. Took them about an hour and a half. Charge was about $130. You make your own choice on this company but if uve got lots of money to throw away,, this is your place! read more

I didn't think their would be any charge for this,it is so easy to do. Then they charged me $165.00 for two valves you can buy at Home Depot for $30.00. Good customer service from their technicians, that's why they even get one star from me (plus, doesn't look like you can give 0 stars). Their pricing is over the top. Being a first time homeowner, I have never had to have my kitchen sink unclogged and never had to have a garbage disposal replaced. It's too bad that I chose Peterson Plumbing to help with this (usually we use Rescue 1, they were just unavailable but we HIGHLY recommend them). They charged us $327 for the disposal alone and when it was priced locally at three different locations after the fact, we could have paid $109. My husband felt terrible that once given the quote, he didn't take just a few minutes to research. But that's pretty awkward when you have two technicians standing right in front of you. When contacted about how upsetting this was, Robin was unprofessional in the sense of there was not even an ounce of compassion for an upset customer that feels taken advantage of (but based on some replies I've seen from her on here, it's pretty clear she could care less about customer service). I would not recommend this company to anyone, and if you choose to use them, be sure you're prepared to be overcharged and don't you dare voice an opinion, they don't care. They will quote you a price that is astronomical! My circuit board went out. They quoted me $480 to fix the problem. I knew right away they were trying to take advantage of me. I am not giving any stars but the one to post this review. this a personal business we called who acted quite professional at first. They did a fix on my heater and the part was faulty which they blamed on us after charging $700 to originally fix. May I add the parts only set them back a measly 75 bucks. The prior technician they originally sent did a check included in their 49$ fee but did not alert us anything was wrong. I understand in repairs it takes some "critical thinking ." When we called them back out they wanted to recharge us for the faulty part they installed which they gave us a 6 months warranty on. "Mind boggling I know." I begged for them to meet us halfway as we are desperate and my child could not stay in our home due to recent overnight temperatures dropping to about 14. Upon visualizing the 20 dollar part they installed it was used!!! See photo below, a local company ordered us a new part at no financial benefit to them. The manager Robin was cold and unassuming offering no resolution and didn't seem to care at all. I will be calling the better business bureau. I hope Robin has a good Christmas with my 700 bucks. Uncaring cold and calculated. This company is a high priced mess with no family values. They tout pink vans for cancer awareness which concerns me for the little old lady who calls them for a leaky toilet and gets charged probably 2xs what her monthly staple is. I wasn't even offered a space heater until the problem was solved especially being Thanksgiving. The techs are trained to sell you a new unit at an unbelievable price rather than make a repair. New to the area & called them to install 2 toilets and a bathroom sink. They wanted over 800 dollars each to install the toilets alone. They also pushed a monthly membership program no one needs to pay for. This company is gouging people. Never seen higher prices anywhere for basic plumbing services. I rarely give bad reviews but the service I got from Peterson was so poor I feel I should help others avoid making the same mistake I did. I had a simple zone valve that needed to be replaced on an old furnace - Peterson was prompt and came out to the house but immediately started listing other things that needed to be done - to the amount of over $2,500.
