If you're looking to find local honey, fresh , organic and clean ingredient pickles among various other kindly grown and prepared fruits, vegetables, refrigerated goods like dairy free cheeses, dips , local juices, and trees and plants and so much more this is your place! I enjoy spending local and the tastes of properly grown and delivered foods . I know others complain about prices but I would rather eat things that taste and last like they do from here versus the big box stores. I feel like it's not ridiculous for how the foods taste and stay preserved. The customer service is always good and I love pulling into the lot to grab and go ! I love the bread and butter pickles from Amish wedding brand with all clean ingredients and flavor and the lettuce and greens varieties are always long lasting and flavorful.Tge produce varies seasonally and summers aren't as great at times and due to the recent freeze they lost a lot of crops but it's a great stop for your quick run for forgotten items needed to cook! Perfect vanilla orange swirl. Didn't get a chance to explore since we went to closing time and it was raining but we got what we went there for, the soft serve vanilla orange swirl. Close to home with a variety of honey, fruit, vegetables, jams, tchachkes, and plants for sale. Some of the food is grown locally, some is not. They have many items the are "no spray" which is absolutely up my alley! There are pigs, chickens, goats, turkeys on premise, however not any you are able to go up to and "pet,", at least not in our experience. :-P Our son had fun running around, swinging on this cool round swing, climbing up to a tree house. Yay! We'll go again on beautiful days, or just to grab some produce that is organically grown. :) Thank you Petersons Groves! Loved stopping by this cute market last weekend. I was able to get some excellent ruby red grapefruit, some honey bell oranges, and even some great tomatoes and baked potatoes. They had a large variety of fruits and vegetables and all kinds of healthy items in addition to plants and trees in the nursery. They even had the Florida version of a dole whip where you could get orange, vanilla or swirl ice cream. The swirl was perfect. Refreshing citrus with the vanilla sweetness in a cone! We went to Peterson's last Sunday. We purchased 4 oranges and 4 grapefruit...they cost $15, oh well. Both the orange and the grapefruit we tried had to be the worst we ever had. They had no taste and had no sweetness whatsoever. Obviously they don't taste their own fruit.....or they do and try to pass them off as citrus anyhow. You would think in Florida it's a no brainer to expect delicious, sweet fruit. I should have know when I saw a guy open a gallon of fresh squeezed orange juice to try it first, I'm wondering if they add some kind of sweetener to mask the real fruit juice. Make sure you try before you buy or else you are throwing away your money. read more

We arrived at 4:45 to pick up some fresh tomatoes, potentially more produce if there was time and availability, but when we walked up we were turned away and told they were closed. The website says open until 5.I made the drive knowing I wouldn't be spending lots of time looking around as I wouldn't want to keep anyone past business hours, and I do also understand that a business like this is subject to product availability, but I saw lots of produce out so I'm sure that they weren't sold out for the day. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to purchase something next time if they are open because it does look like a lovely spot. read more

First, I would like to say, I don't like writing negative reviews about local businesses. With that being said. I am disappointed in my experience here. I called ahead on Saturday to ask about their fresh produce. I specifically asked if the majority of their produce was grown by them or sources else where. I was told that most of their produce was sourced else where at the moment, but mostly from Florida. Which was fine, I expected as much for the summer. I buy organic and their organic selection wasn't that great. Most of which is sourced from another country all together. Since I had already drove about 40 minutes to get there, I decided to go ahead and buy some produce. I bought some peaches & plums which were in a cooler in a plastic bag. They seemed very ripe, but I figured I would eat them in the next couple of days, so that was fine. When I got home I immediately put them in the fridge and opened them up the next day to eat. They were almost rotten at this point. 2 of the peaches were spoiled beyond what you can even cut off bad parts and still eat. The plums were soft and when bitten in to, tasted rotten. Needless to say I discarded them. I called to let the store know, so they can either check them or pull all together. I asked if I could get a refund on the spoiled fruit, even offering to bring them so they could see. The store attendant stated, "The owner doesn't like to give refunds, but I could perhaps exchange for something else." I was honestly take back... I didn't want anything else as I wasn't very impressed with what I had already received. I know it's not a large sum of money, but it is organic, so it is a good deal more expensive. You may not "like" to give refunds, but customer don't exactly "like" to buy rotten produce. I won't be going back which is sad. I buy a good deal of produce and was hoping to find some local sources. This is not a good business practice and I hope they will reconsider this for the future customers. read more

They are a small operation with a constantly changing inventory, so their produce is almost always at peak freshness They also have specialty items that are almost impossible to find in large urban areas (for example, white sweet potatoes (asian) and the mindbogglingly delicious marmelades from Dundee farm). They also sell super-fresh eggs, citrus that was freshly picked from a tree a quarter mile away, and a carefully thought out organic section. Cashiers are also delightful and friendly, and make you feel like a "regular", even if you are only there for the third time. This is the best retail establishment in Vero Beach. read more

This is BY FAR the best packing house in Vero. Authentic - they have every type of orange, grapefuit, homemade jelly and kitchy FL item you could want. They also have a function chicken coop, with roosters, pigs, peacocks and other random animals. The prices are more than fair and the fruit is wonderful. They have the best orange juice I have ever tried, anywhere in the world. It has more or less ruined me for any other orange juice. And you generally get the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fred Peterson himself when you visit. He's the owner/operator and he is a throwback to a bygone era of badassery. He is worth a trip to this nursery/packinghouse on his own (ask him about wives some time!). A convenient option when in need of some veggies or fruits, or even fun snacks like salsa and chips! I've been coming here for about 6 months, and can say that I've never had anything bad here. Keep in mind that it is mostly, if not all organic, so if you're looking for a pretty and perfectly colored and shaped orange or grapefruit, you'll want to go to Publix for that. I love the fruit and veggies here, along with the snacks, dressings, jams, flowers, pots etc. And, not to mention the precious animals around the property! Speaking of love of animals, they sell Beyond Burger (vegan alternative to a beef burger). Just ask one of the nice women at the cash register and they'll get it for you from their freezer. Terrible customer service. Please do not think you can order fruit from this grove and have it delivered in a timely manner. I ordered fruit to be shipped as a birthday present -- 9 days in advance after being assured it would arrive on or before the birthday. They shipped it 3 days later than they said they would. I called when it was late -- 4 days late -- and after two weeks of phone calls I was told too bad. I had to call them 4 different times, each time they were going to look into it and call me back. They never did. The final call ended with them apparently feeling just fine about people not wanting to order shipped fruit from them. So my suggestion -- find someone else! read more

My sister-in-law while visiting Florida sent us what she thought was a very nice gift from Peterson groves. The top layer of grapefruit were good. Some of the oranges had bad places on them and were mushy. When we started eating the oranges they were mostly dry and no juice. I called Tiffany and she was very nice and said she would make it right. As of today we have not heard anything. I won't buy any of my fruit trees from anyone but him....and they explain care and have all the products you need to have the healthiest trees.
