Absolutely the best Garden Shop I've ever been. Every kind of plant and flower. Planters and statues available. Enter at the beautiful gift shop and meander your way through the paths. Collecting plants along the way you'll enjoy the landscape and water falls. Pure delight! Easy to wheel carts avail and knowledgeable staff.

What a great garden! This is the place for your garden supplies and your future gardens. This place is not just a garden center it's a destination. I love the flow of the garden with it's winding paths along the water and outdoor examples of fireplaces. My sure you call ahead and see if the cafe is open. Sounds like a plan for a visit right after shopp

This is the most amazing garden center I have ever been to. Rock City Gardens has been owned since July 1, 1983 by Tom and Rhonda Lowe. The first owner was Ralph Ruhl who had worked at Fairchild Tropical Gardens and established the garden center known as Wabasso Nursery in the 60's. The next owners, the Chapins owned the Tennessee tourist attraction Rock City and decided to name their garden nursery after it. The Lowe's were working as teachers in Chicago when they decided it was time for a career and weather change. They moved to Florida and jumped into the Chapins garden business without even knowing anything about tropical gardening. When the Lowe's purchased the 7 acre business they learned quickly and ended up expanding the garden shop in 1985. They also built greenhouses and upgraded the grounds. In the past three years they have added outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, patios, and fountains, to showcase outdoor living. Wedding receptions are held underneath the huge trees at the back of the property. This garden center is incredible. The variety of plants, pots, statues, garden furniture, and many other items is staggering. There is a gorgeous nature trail that winds around their wetland preserve. So many inviting places have been created that make you want to relax and hang out. On the night I visited they had a free open house offering wine and food. I love how the Lowe's didn't even know about Florida plants but through hard work they transformed a weeded and neglected garden center into the tropical paradise you see today. You can't leave here without feeling inspired to want to plant something. This place is wonderful to shop and explore if you are in the area.

Awesomely beautiful facility that is landscaped to the max. Such a beautiful walkabout with a nice of assortment of plants for sale as well as massive specimen plants. I would've given this place a much better review, but the staff was elusive at best and a bit rude when approached with a question. In fact, I spent almost $50 and even though I could see several empty boxes behind the register, when I asked the cashier if she had a box that I could put my 2 smaller, delicate plants in, she told me she didnt have one, ...WTH?? So, there's that. I'm saying if you want a beautiful stroll, go there, but if you want to buy plants, take your business where it's appreciated.

One of the most organized and up kept nurseries I ever been to but also one of the most expensive ones I've been to. It's fun to look around but don't expect a bargain. It's very pleasant though and it's a great experience to go there

You may go here to purchase plants, or garden decor, but what you get is a botanical garden experience. Flowering plants, herbs, succulents, fountains, urns, all arranged beautifully on impeccably cared for grounds. There is seating by the ponds where it would seem reasonable to sit and read or just ponder the day away. Wide variety of healthy plants, soil and garden stone, unique pieces of art for the yard. The ownership and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Plants are clearly labeled according to sun, soil and water requirements, as well as whether they attract pollinators. It is pricey, but as they say, you get what you pay for, and I would much prefer to support a local business making my community a more beautiful, sustainable place, than pay less for inferior products at a large retailer.

I placed special orders for some of my plants and they all arrived in a timely manner. The staff were all very accommodating when I arrived to pick up plants, they explained the care, confirmed my planting locations, and helped me load the truck. I'm about to place another order and would highly recommend using them! (we bought hedges, shrubs, perennials, and, sod)

We're new in town and we're Shady Grove's newest fans for life…read more We got a pool put in and needed to re-sod parts of our yard. I called Gator Sod in Fellsmere, and told them that all I needed at present was enough sod to make the front yard look presentable, as we'd be putting a fence up in the back and landscaping anyway. ... Gator Sod quoted me $570 for 3 pallets of sod! I couldn't believe that a) we needed that much and b) that our small job could cost that much, so I called to confirm, told her I really just needed from the sidewalk to the corner of our house and she confirmed the quote. Not only that, but they arrived about 4 hours (and without calling) later than they said they would call and come for the estimate. That's where Shady Grove comes in! I called them and told them that we were in a pinch, needed sod within a few days (before our final inspection for the pool). That was yesterday afternoon. I'm pleased to say that it's 10am, and I have sod out front. They sent two guys to give us an estimate, and sent them with sod just in case ... as they knew we needed it rather quickly. The best part is, we paid $160 installed. The guys from Shady Grove were professional, quick, and just so wonderful. I told them about the $570 quote from Gator Sod and they said that even if they covered every single spot that needed new grass, it would still come in under $500 ... So. There you have it. Now, we'll be doing all our landscaping with Shady Grove. THANK YOU for the honest, quick, professional service!
