My husband and I were also doing grad school full time in CA while we planned our wedding in Houston, and having someone as professional as Pete saved us a lot of headache. My DJ got the date of my wedding confused and we didnt know this until 10 minutes before the ceremony! My company was having our first off site holiday function in 20+ years and we ended up booking at Hotel Zaza. Pete was referred to me by Zaza's Director of Catering and Sales but we wanted to see what our other options were. We ended up getting some dirt cheap (like weirdly cheap) prices from Dj's I've never heard of. We weighed our options and decided quality over price and booked Pete (pete is not at all overpriced but my company is frugal). Our decision to book Pete was the best we could have made! Our employees who didn't even express great interest in the party could not stop dancing. We have employees that are 21 years old and others that are 71 years old and he hit every target. Everyone could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Pete was very flexible and responsive during the booking process and he made my job easier. Before I go on to talk about how good a DJ Pete is, let me just say that he's probably the best well-kept secret of the Houston wedding world. You won't come across him at bridal expos or see him popping up all over wedding websites and magazines; in fact, the only way we found out about him in the first place was through a referral from our wedding planner at Eventology Weddings. My husband and I were stressing over finding a DJ who would be able to deliver our demands: we definitely wanted to blast some full-out EDM, but we also needed to appease our older guests with a few of Frank Sinatra's classics; my parents were begging for some Earth, Wind, and Fire; and we needed to get our guests on the floor with some line dances and Top 40s hits. What we needed was a well-versed DJ to establish that oh-so delicate balance. So yes, having never heard of Pete before, I was definitely a bit skeptical at first, but when we were quoted a mere $850 for 5hrs, we decided to take a leap of faith... and it paid off! My husband met with Pete only once before our wedding, but he listened to our concerns and delivered exactly the genres we wanted at exactly the timeframes we wanted. He got our First Dance, Bouquet Toss, Garter Toss, and Final Dance songs right, and he did great with MC'ing and -working conjointly with our wedding planner- kept the party on schedule. He was also super charismatic, charming, and engaging with our guests. My husband and I attend a lot of EDM shows and festivals, so we didn't know how much to expect when he started playing EDM near the end of the night, but damn, Pete brought down the freaken house! Being surrounded by friends, dranks, and that bumpin' bass, there was a point where I actually forgot I was at my own wedding... (My elder relatives told me the next morning they didn't know Dustin and I could get down like that. Oops, shoulda kept it classy...haha!) Anyway, that just comes to show you how awesome of a DJ Pete turned out to be. My only complaint would be that he wasn't as responsive as I would have liked. When we sent emails, it would take a few days to get a response - which felt like YEARS to an anxiously-awaiting bride. He's also located all the way down in La Porte, which made it difficult for us to meet with him. If you can get over that, then I definitely recommend checking Pete out. $750 for 4hrs - you just can't beat that price! read more

Pete was an excellent DJ! He made the process so easy. We did a lot of research and met a lot of DJs for our wedding. We were so glad we decided on Pete after talking to our wedding planner. His pricing was reasonable and he was friendly and reliable. He offered great suggestions for our wedding and reception songs. He responded promptly to all emails. The lights that we rented from him also looked beautiful! Pete knew how to read the crowd and get them on the dance floor, which was important to us. We had our daughter's sweet 16 on 10/20/17 and hired Pete for the event based on the previous Yelp ratings. I could not have made a better choice!!!! He arrived a few hours before the party to set up and was dressed very professional ! Not one time did any of the teens sit down.
