Small and simple but elegant food. We had all the soups and the biggest fried green beans I have ever seen. Somehow fed a family of 4 with a bottle of wine for 100 euros. Highly recommend.

Food was sooo good. We had the octopus salad and tempura green beans (which were very large). Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Can sit inside or outside but don't forget to check out the amazing painting inside!

Lovely place to grab a quick drink and some tasty food! The octopus was pretty tender and really enjoyed the sangria.

So cute! Service great. Good great. Atmosphere very cool. Small little 6 table place. Grab a few tapas for a snack or a meal.

The staff was amazing, the food was really good. We sat outside while a live band was playing and it was just perfect. My husband got the Twist and Stout and I got the Somersby to drink. He ate the corn frittata with sausage and cabbage bowl and I got the Prego sandwhich. Both were really good. I highly recommend this place. The prices are great also.

Good was great. Service was too! It's like a tapas style but definitely not when it comes to portions -- more than filling!

Great food and lovely atmosphere! There are two restaurants with similar names right next to each other. They're under the same ownership but the menus are different, the larger one is for a standard meal with normal entree options whereas this one has a tapas menu. Everything we ate was delicious!

The best meal we had in Lisbon! And we were too busy scarfing down the food to take pictures. Cute place tucked away by the castle. Here's my summary: Pickled carrots- life changing and I need to make these Rabbit- the best rabbit I've ever had in my life. Wish I had ordered a second. Octopus salad - sooo fresh! So tender. Well seasoned. Homemade ketchup and garlic mayo? Yes please ! Will definitely go back on our next visit

After dining at this restaurant's morning counterpart, my cousin and I decided to try this restaurant for dinner. At the recommendation of our fun and exciting waiter, Fabio, we ordered Pica-pau, breads, caldo verde- cabbage and potato soup, verde wine, and two desserts. The cabbage and potato soup is excellent. Perfectly Balanced, creamy and flavorful without being overwhelming. Had some oil on top which I loved. The bread is wonderful, particularly the Portuguese cornbread. The likes of which I haven't found anywhere since, and as a result will fantasize about forever. The pica-pau is popular here. It involves a flattened piece of steak, lightly salted, on fresh bread. There are two halves so I shared with my cousin. The green wine is yummy! Goes well with the soup! Port goes best with their desserts. We had the banoffee, served in small mason jar. It was good. Required an additional dessert. This is a lovely, intimate restaurant on a side street close to the castle. The staff members are friendly without the touting-for-business model many other venues in touristy areas ascribe to. I think this restaurant is a gem. Top quality food and staff in a welcoming environment. I would absolutely return here.

The service was very slow. Had to remind her to bring my husbands beer. After my food came, they never brought my husbands. So we flagged down our waitress who told us "did I forget to tell you we are now out of that?" (They weren't out of it when we sat down 40 minutes earlier.) They then took a rush order of something else. After 25 minutes and everyone else being done we cancelled the order and asked for the check. THEN they arrived. (They we're very good, but the waitress attempted to excuse the time as they take that long to fry..uh uh). My husband says the chicken wings were very good. So a ZERO for service and a FOUR for food. I had the green beans, AMAZING and the "Mija" also VERY Good. RUINED the amazing restaurant experiences we have had in Portugal.

Octopus salad, cheese plate and garlic shrimp! All were phenomenal! The service was friendly and personable and the prices reasonable! This was a wonderfully surprising find after leaving the castle tired and hungry

Cute little restaurant tucked away on the way up to the castle. Really nice staff, the girl who helped always had a big smile and made sure we were happy. We had a couple soups, octopus salad, asparagus patty, shrimps in garlic olive oil and a couple juices to drink. They gave bread and olive oil. Good times

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

It's rotisserie chicken doused with a spicy hot sauce so what's not to like? I knew it was a Portuguese-originated dish, so I looked for a place famous for it. Here on a Sunday evening, there was quite a queue extending up the cobblestone alley, so I realized this must be the place. Although it was at least thirty people deep, it didn't take more than twenty minutes for Jamie W and me to secure a table upstairs. It was a homestyle dining room set-up that hovered between cozy and crowded depending on the fluctuating volume level. Interestingly all the servers were male, and while ours was the most junior, he consciously followed the behavior of his veteran brethren. There was no question about our main course, the 13,5€ Frango Assado No Espeto (Roast Chicken on the Spit) (Photo 7). It was tender and succulent enough albeit a bit under seasoned, all the more reason to pour a liberal dose of the piri piri sauce (Photo 8). Our sides were simple but shareable, the 3,2€ Batata Fritta (French Fries) (Photo 9) and the 4,3€ Salada Mista (Mixed Salad) (Photo 10). Both were fine, though we really wanted to try their Cream Spinach. They were already out of it in the kitchen. We were quite satisfied nonetheless, and their service pretty much worked like clockwork. Jamie and I agreed we'd definitely come back if the passion for poultry strikes us on a return trip to Lisbon. In the meanwhile, I'll just do a run to Costco, buy a rotisserie chicken, and dream of Portugal. He will talk to you for hours and teach you about food and wine and culture and talk about the history of food and how it came to be in Portugal. I loved it. I learned so much. I aspire, as an American, to learn from and look up to other cultures. I feel very honored to have dined in a restaurant managed by him on our trip to Portugal. I'm going to recommend to our travel coordinator to add this restaurant to the Google map recommendations list because more people need to go to this place - they need more tables, more space, because I'm convinced this is such a hidden gem that should be exposed to the masses to enjoy! We visited several wineries and this restaurant had the best wine - bar none! The fish, a fish I hadn't tried before, was deliciously seasoned, falls apart with the fork, the creamy rice was just divine. I normally will never eat little cherry/grape tomatoes - ever - but the perfect bite of fish, creamy rice, and a tomato was... perfection. The menu is deeply curated; flavors - textures - wines that make sense. You can tell Frederico what you normally like and he 100% knows what wines he has that you will love. The tomato, orange, ham, salad, was absolutely balanced and delicious. I'm so grateful that our first trip to Portugal we got to meet Frederico and dine with these wonderful people who love food and wine as much as us. I'll never forget it as long as I live.
