I've made the drive from Edmonton to Vancouver more than a few times now. I used to stop at…read moreClearwater to use the washroom but wait until Kamloops to fill up on gas. I am now finding that the Esso in Barriere is a better option. I now skip Clearwater and just wait until here and fill up on gas at the same time since it's close to Kamloops anyway. In doing so I avoid an additional stop along the way. Also, for some reason, Kamloops doesn't have a convenient gas station right off the highway. A lot of the gas stations on the drive have an A&W. I like how this Esso station has a Subway instead. If I need food, I feel like Subway is a healthier option for me (kind of like the best of the worst and yes, I realize that is a backhand compliment). Overall, a good place to stop, fill up on gas and get some grub on a long drive. As an aside, I've never tried, but they also have showers available for use (not sure how much it costs). Maybe more for truckers but hey, the option is here for you if you need it.

Despite the flashing signs indicating being open, we rang the buzzer for the motel. The owner came down and opened the door and got angry at us for waking him up. The management of this motel is TERRIBLE. I wouldn't stop here if it were the last place on earth.
