They are respectful, polite, and friendly. They a patient with the pets that come in. I have a small dog at 6.5 pounds. His paws are just about a little over an inch wide. His chest girth is about 12". It's disappointing that many harnesses/accessories, are more geared toward larger dogs. Being geared to selling to a wider range of all size of pets, I understand. That being said, some items, like a dog tent/sleeping bag, for such a high cost, doesn't make much sense. Those items can be found cheaper online. read more

I took my Golden Retriever there for a full bath, the extra nail grind, and paid for the extra 15 minutes of brush. Just got back from a camping trip so my fur baby needed the extras. My groomer-who knows me and how well I treat my Pup, was just nasty. Upset she had to do a little extra work that I paid for. I've always tipped her well, usually $20 cash on a $60 bath. Maybe they are pushing their employees at PetSmart harder nowadays, but no excuse for the comments she made about me and my best buddy. Haven't been back since. read more

They are the worst at grooming. They messed up my dog. They cut him up all kinds of ways. They didn't give him a bath. They gave him some kind of shampoo that makes him constantly itch. I would not recommend them. Specially, the groomer Caroline she is the worst. read more

He had a bunch of mats and had overgrown nails. When I dropped him off he was a cute shaggy pup in desperate need of a grooming. Erica took care of my boy and did an amazing job!!! Took my puppy here for training but had to leave due to an emergency called the trainer back and she rescheduled for a Saturday that wasn't even the correct date. I've come back SIX times and she wasn't here on the dates she promised. I have a Belgian Malinois, German shepherd, lab mix so I need a little help training the puppers. Terrible drop puppy off at 4:45 for a cut ! Second time trying was told way too aggressive and they even FaceTime two coworkers without my permission and they agree my dog is lovable she is only 7lbs and 5 months to say that is ridiculous. This place gets one star with its final review pending on PART2: To Getting My Dog Groomed At PetSmart !!!! At this point I will say I was overcharged and under serviced. I informed at the time I booked my pet that this was his first time being fully groomed outside of home. They booked him for a Saturday afternoon and upon my pick up and $80 dollars later my pet pretty much looked the same as he came in. I was advised that he was too agitated and nippy to be groomed ( he's a long haired chihuahua) and that they were quite busy that day so they believed it contributed to the problem. At first that was pretty much the end of it , no apologies, no offers of any kind compensation. However, I believe if I inform you he's never had a haircut before maybe as a "Grooming Professionals " it should be advised to come on a less busy day as I would not know there schedule for the day, nor how busy they would be. I had to call back speak with a manager and get another appointment. Today 10 days after his original appointment I try to reschedule due to inclement weather and I was told I would have to be charged again because it had been over three weeks since his initial appointment and it was considered a new haircut. WHAT?!?!? Anyways after being rudely placed on hold by the manager for quite a bit and my finally using another phone line to reach out to them and informing them 1. that they are incorrect about the 3 week time frame as my invoice to the initial appointment reads FEBRUARY 27, 2022 which is actually 11 days ago , 2. they were the ones responsible for booking this appointment 10 days out to begin with 3. their initial incompetence to get the job done to begin with and, threatening to YELP them I was very snippedly offered another appointment on Monday February 14, 2022. I am writing this review for accountability, awareness and the protection of my pet at his next appointment against any animosity felt over My encounters with management and staff. I had my cocker spaniel groomed here, I had another dog groomed here previously. His coat was very full. I asked to bath and groom to a short cut about 1 inch. The inside of his ears needed to be shaved. What I received was a completely shaved dog! Then was charged extra money for combing out. He was matted on the stomache not the entire coat. We have been going to Petsmart since the day we brought home Samson, only a few weeks old. We had not yet settled on a name as we walked through the isles, and everyone was willing to lend their opinion. I eventually controlled the debate by offering the three names we were considering and only letting people vote from them. It is over four years since that day, and we still visit Petsmart for most of our pet needs. Petsmart is certainly not an inexpensive place, you can stop in for the cheap stuff at Walmart right around the corner if that's what you want. But they do carry quality products and have an amazingly knowledgeable staff. Indeed, I think it is the staff that makes the Petsmart experience. You simply will not find that kind of knowledge in any discount store. We did enroll Samson in their puppy obedience class. It was a lot of fun and well worth the money. Each week the lesson plan included a coupon for something that was on topic. I think lessons were about $100 for 12 weeks of lessons. Samson did well through puppy class and we enrolled him in the intermediate class. The training staff always treated us well, giving helpful advice without ever being patronizing. When Samson was still very young he was stung on the ear after chasing a bee. He developed a sudden fear of grass and would not go out into the yard or let us know when he needed to go out. As you can imagine, this is a really big problem. We engaged the staff for advice and received a few suggestions. Within a few days of trying those ideas out Samson came around and went back to terrorizing the squirrels once again. The staff have always been pleasant, and when Samson was a regular visitor he was always greeted by name. We have since added Jackson, a much larger dog, and Petsmart continues to be our place for specialty items. We stopped buying the premium food for something a little more economical which we can get at other places, so our visits are not as frequent as they used to be but it was just like old times when we stopped in today. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience with Pet Smart. I have been a customer for several years. I attempted to make an appointment for my three dogs . I was told that I was not allowed to make appointments for my dogs as they had noticed that I complained about their service. I explained that I had never complained about their service but they refuse to except this explanation. In fact they said it was because they thought I made a complaint that I was not allowed to return. They would not except my explanation that this was obviously an error on their part. I never made a complaint but apparently they refuse to take customers back that offer a complaint. This is a pretty selective business model and does not promote good customer service. Obviously they're not concerned about customer satisfaction and only select customers who are going to give them positive reviews. I will never return to Petsmart. read more

I usually don't shop for my pet supplies prices too high, and I used the vet service once for some quicke needed shots to board and they pestered me for months to transfer my dog checkups to them from my much more experienced vet. Don't book with Elijah. We used to be regular customers at the Grooming Salon- for years. Last month it took over 5 hours for my dog to be bathed, and he came out still dirty. Which was unusual for them, but I thought a fluke, a bad day. Today, I was called just 90 minutes before my appointment to be told by someone name Elijah that he can't physically wash two dogs at one time and my appointment was being cancelled. I didn't ask him to wash two dogs, but it seems there was a schedule mix up. But during this whole conversation this problem on their end was made to sound like something I had done wrong. All I did was use their online booking tool? There was no apology, no "I'm sorry about this", instead he complained about customers not understanding how to book and made it sound like I was asking him to wash two dogs. I made an appointment for just one dog! Then when I didn't want to reschedule it he seemed all put out. I mean, who trusts their dog with someone like that? read more

I usually take my pup to this PetSmart and Melisa is amazing with her! Shoutout to her! I only went to PetCo because someone gave me a gift card for there by mistake and I thought I would try it. NO. DONT DO IT. Awful! First of all PetSmart offer puppy trims for $15-20 depending on the promotion, for pets under 5 months. PetCo will charge $50 LOL. Also, when you book online and you get the price, it's the SAME at the store at PetSmart, unlike at PetCo. Anyway, I'm going back to PetSmart. Shame on me for being a traitor! PS Melisa always calls me 15-20 mins before my baby is done so I can get her on time and she doesn't have to wait for me. PetCo doesn't care! Well done PetSmart!!! read more

Usually go to the latham store but they didnt jave ab appointment so tried out the Albany store...BAD move. Had an appointment at 115, called at 4 pm when we hadn't heard. Were told she would be down at 430...went back at 445 and my dog was in the cage in the back NOT groomed. Had been given a bath and left in the back. Was told her nails were done, they were not. Manager said a worker left suddenly ill...no call to let us know they would take more than the 2 hours we were told, or to tell us that when we called to find out when she would be done. It is not the customers responsibility to worry about staffing issues. Manager of the store ,Collette, argued with me that I was never told 2 hours, and they have 4.5 hours to complete the service. Never have I ever had it take more than 2 hours....she is a 10 pound yorkie. She also argued that she wasnt in the crate 3.5 hours bc she was given a bath! A dog that came after us was on the table almost completely done. No apology for the wait, offered to groom her another day or for us to wait another 30 mins and pay FULL price! If the hair cut takes 30 mins why do they supposedly quite 4.5 hours!? I wasnt going to wait and have a rushed haircut after waiting almost 5 hours by that time. We were never notified it would take 2x the amount of time, our dog was left unnecessarily in a crate, was not given any type of apology only arguments and expected us to come back and waste more of our time off and still pay. So double the time and 2 trips! An apology would have even gone a long way. Worst service I have had a petsmart! The colonie and niskayuna stores are way better. Maybe we should try PETCO. read more

I had the groomers trim my dogs nails, i just got done cleaning up a pool of blood from his quick. Not only did they cut the nail too deep but the nail split all the way up into his toe as well. I understand that you can cut the nail too short and it'll bleed but I've never seen a nail split like that and that one nail was unbelievably short. I brought him for convenience sake as I usually cut his nails myself and I suppose in the future I'll have to go back to cutting them myself again. I will not be putting my dog through that again. The poor miniature hamsters can't get any water because their bottles are up way too high!! This has been going on for over a year! I have pointed it out to employees who tell me they will take care of it and don't. I pointed it out to a manager who said "we are familiar with the care of these animals" in a nasty tone of voice that suggests that she gets a lot of complaints about the animal care there. Brought my pup Polo in to the Petsmart groomer to get a bath and Natures Miracle treatment after a skunk incident. Kara took great care of him! Said he did great and he came out looking very handsome! Much better with regards to the skunk smell too! Not totally gone (which is to be expected) but infinitely better.
