Very disappointing and concerning experience Our first grooming experience at PetSmart was acceptable, and Janet did an okay job. Unfortunately, the second visit completely changed our perception. During our second appointment at the 130 Avenue location, Roxy groomed our dog. About 20 minutes later, she called us saying she could not continue because the dog was presenting wounds. These wounds appeared while our dog was under her care. When we arrived, our dog had visible injuries on his chest, was bleeding, and was trembling. Roxy was also trembling while speaking to us and implied that the injuries may have already existed, mentioning that he had "strange fur." We immediately removed our dog from the store while he was still bleeding. Today, we scheduled another grooming appointment specifically with a different groomer. However, Roxy was present again and involved herself in the appointment, even though we were not scheduled with her. This made us extremely uncomfortable. It feels like she has a personal issue with our family, and we do not understand why. Because of this situation, we had to cancel the grooming once again. We no longer feel safe leaving our dog there. This experience has been stressful, upsetting, and deeply concerning regarding our pet's safety. We expected much better care, accountability, and professionalism from PetSmart. read more

A word of caution regarding the grooming center. We were called during our pets groom that they "noticed a fleshy area right beside his eye. It was bleeding a bit but no longer is. Would you like us to take him to the vet?" I responded with, if it's no longer bleeding, I'll come in and see. He was not taken to the vet that day, but within a few days, we had to take him. Long story short, he now has a bleeding ulcer of his eyeball, and we are aggressively treating it to prevent surgery. 50% cornea loss as of now. As expected, zero accountability from the store. "We can not prove it was the groomer who scratched the eye". My advice, if you are ever asked, would you like us to take them to the vet, even if the issue looks resolved, always say YES! I understand that sometimes accidents happen, we are just shocked by the lack of accountability. read more

The PetSmart Adoption Event is an absolute joke. Not only did I call the store to get details on the event (which was poorley advertised, because the dates weren't correct and some were cancelled last minute) Once we got there we were told to fill out an application online... Thats it! Drive 45 min to fill out an online application! We asked to see the kitten we wanted to adopt and no, it stays in its glass cage. Any additional information? No just whats on the tag. My dog experienced a 6 inch cut during grooming and was bleeding. The groomer is very nice and was devastated. They rushed my dog to a Vet Hospital as per their protocol. But a couple of things bothered us. They asked me to meet them at the Vet and of course I cancelled clients and rushed there, loosing wages, which I didn't mind because I care about my dog. But the purpose of calling me seems to be that they wanted me to be the one that waited the 4 hours to see a Vet so they could get back to grooming other dogs. Then after my dog healed they restricted the type of service they could provide because my dog, and I quote, "has thin skin and that's why the cut occurred". That felt like they were blaming my dog for being cut, it's his thin skin, it's not their fault. They went on and on at the Vet and then afterwards about my dogs thin skin, but he's been groomed many, many times without a problem. Both of these left a bad taste and we will not return to Pet Smart. read more

I buy cases of cat food as I have 5. I had 5 cases yesterday and the cashier had to scan every single can separately. She said it was for inventory. I will not shop at PetSmart again if that is your new policy. That's Rediculous. That takes too long and your girl was starting to get confused as to single scanning. read more

We've been getting our Westie groomed for years! My wife cried picking Max up this week. They took him So close that you could See the color of his hide. He's been scratching and licking since we brought him home. Why couldn't they just stop , call us to discuss before butchering our lil one? Plus they charged us $40 More dollars than they normally do! So were are done!! read more

3 Times your out! 1: had to pay extra to have them do items missed that were included 2: called and made an appointment for June 25. Arrived only to be told my appointment was the following Saturday. July 02/22. Strange as I confirmed date, time & location. 3: week later arrived and was told I didn't have an appointment. Asked if the could at least have the nails trim and hair trimmed between pads. yes no problem they said and it will be complementary. i was charged $25.00. Will not go back and will not recommend their ser or store. read more

I was just at the Sarcee Pet Smart to purchase a brush and grooming supplies when I happened to glance through the window at the grooming goings on. Was totally horrified to witness a young female groomer harshly handling a small breed (1215 pm Sept 26) then grabbing it under the neck and giving it a shake and roughly pushing it down on the table. There was no staff member in sight or me to address this situation; I knocked on the window but no one gave me a look. I asked the cashier whether the manager was in and she said not until tomorrow. I have a one year old Havanese and I actually gave consideration to taking it to your grooming salon. Not a chance I would do this after witnessing what I did today. read more

My dad is disabled and has a small dog. We called last week to get his nails groomed, asked if his rabies vaccine was up to date, i told the lady his papers say he was last vaccinated in june of 2019 for rabies, and it was his second shot. She said its still good, good for three years. My dad took a cab their today, cost him 30 dollars and when we got there all of a sudden thw rabies vaccine is only good for a year, and they were unable to help us. The lady was real nasty from the get go, talking to my father like he is stupid. Been going to petsmart for 20 years, buying food and treats, never again will they get a dime from me. This location had awful service, moody staff who are unprofessional and the supervisor is a real snotty person, feel bad for anyone who has to put up with her attitude read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I am so disappointed in the way the animals are treated there. My friend and I stopped in to grab some dog treats and we walked passed the area where the cats are put up for adoption. I already don't agree that they are in these small cages but I also don't work there and have no idea what they do behind the scenes. However, there was a cart with two carriers in it and it smelled pretty terrible so I looked in the carriers to see what was going on and there happened to be two kittens in each carrier with no food, no water and they smelled like feces and pee. We had no idea how long they had been sitting there, it was around +30 today and if I was hot in the store, then they most likely were as well. We asked the first lady that worked there that almost walked right passed us to see if she knew what was going on and what she said baffled me. She said she didn't even know there were animals in there, then she said "Oh I'm sorry, I'm actually off shift so there isn't anything I can do. Go ask the clerks at the till and they'll help you". I'm sorry, but if I was off shift and someone informed me of this situation, I would help immediately. The second lady we asked took about 15 mins to actually come back and check on the kittens then proceeded to tell us that they have been adopted but the lady that adopted them wasn't ready yet so they were sitting there waiting to be transported and without a care, walked away. It took a lot in me not to walk away with those kittens and bring them to a much safer place. I am so disappointed in the staff here. I wouldn't recommend any PetSmart in any location. read more

This location is awesome - I haven't been to any other locations so I can't say anything about them, but we take our dog to get groomed here, as well as attend the training classes. Our dog is not very good with people and had lots of trouble grooming (wouldn't let them cut his nails, kept nipping at them, etc.) yet they always welcomed us and our dog back without making us feel bad. We started sending him to training classes for puppies there, and his behaviour has improved tremendously - now he can get through a grooming session without biting anyone! Maybe that is a given for you and your dog, but it definitely wasn't for us so it is amazing. One time they just couldn't get his nails done, but allowed us to bring him back the following week to get his nails done for free! All the staff here are always so friendly, and the store is very clean and well kept. I would recommend this location to anyone. read more

My usual groomer was out of town and I had just purchased/adopted a 1 year old dog that was matted. I took him over to 130th PetSmart and told them he was extremely nervous, timid and anxious. Malorie asked all the right questions and when I picked him up - he was perfectly groomed and very happy. Great Job Malorie. I would not hesitate to recommend this Groomer - she was so great with my Milo. read more

Won't be back. Third time in and I had to carry my 80 lb dog in because she refused to voluntarily walk in (1st bad sign). After getting her into the office space, and clearly struggling, the manager (?) and another employee glanced at me, said nothing and continued chatting about something on the computer. After silence for about 4 minutes, Manager turns to me and asks if I have an appt. No concern for my dog's obvious distress in the least. She looks it up and says I'm 45 minutes early. This is the third time online apt booking has messed up, as I had 2 text reminders and 1 email reminder that my apt was indeed at noon, not at 12:45. They suggested my dog stay in the kennel until the groomer arrived. really.... my dog is petrified to be there and now they want to keep her there LONGER. no apologies, nothing. . And, just to drive the point home, there was pee all over the floor (not from my dog - some other traumatized animal I assume). read more

Great location. Very friendly staff. They keep a good variety in stock so I can usually get everything at one store rather then having to shop around. I bring my pitbull in all the time and they spoil him rotten. read more

I've taken my bulldog to them once to get a nail clip. It was great, in and out. So in the summer when he starts to get a little stinky I usually bathe him myself but I thought I would give them a try and let him have a spa day. I dropped him off and he was taken in by some very nice women and i left. About 1.5 hours later I get a call to come pick him up, that he was all done. I live about 5 minutes away so I left as soon as I got the call. When I picked him up he looked good but he about dragged the lady across the room and was eager to leave. His breath was very laboured to the point I feared he was going to pass out. I quickly paid and put him in the van with the A/C on max to try to help him. I turned on the A/C as soon as we got in the house and provided lots of water. I don't feel like they have breed-specific knowledge as bullies generally have issues with breathing if they get too hot or stressed. There is no A/C in the kennel area which is also where the baths are. Lesson learned, I won't put him through that again. I personally would never bring my bulldog there again, they would probably be ok with dogs who are not sensitive to heat/stress. read more
