Had my boy's first professional grooming service done today. We both get a bit anxious when separated; Shaylyn did an amazing job comforting him while giving him the best services! This seems like a well ran Petsmart - based on my singular experience here. Stopped in to get some fish tank supplies and was easily able to locate what I needed. The filter options and supply were plentiful, which allowed me a quick in and out to get back on the road home. I did take a few moments to look down some aisles and was pleased to see a clean stocked store. I will be back when in town! read more

I took my Teddy to PetSmart September 28th for his first haircut because when I brought him to petsmart last month for a puppy bath I was informed from Shaylyn at petsmart that he has matted fur and that it would be best for him to get his haircut so it doesn't get any worse and create problems for him, she also suggested I get a metal comb and a slicker brush that doesn't have the little balls at the end which I went and bought before I left. I tried detangling his fur since then. Fast forward to yesterday, I brought Teddy in to see Shaylyn and was told it would take at least 3-4 hours give or take and that she would give me a call when she's done. 2 hours later I get a phone call stating that she was not able to finish because Teddy wouldn't let her and that it would be best to take him to the vet so they can get the rest of the matted hair off and that I can bring him back to her so she can clean him up, and I said okay not knowing how Teddy looked yet. She also said she wasn't charging me since she couldn't finished. So I asked her at what age is puppies suppose to get a hair cut and she said around 5-6 months but she knew he was only 2-3 months when she said he need a haircut so why not inform me to wait til the 5-6 months mark then? When I went to pick Teddy up I was greeted by someone else, Shaylyn wasn't there. The lady that greeted me seemed to have an attitude like I did something wrong and when she brought Teddy to me it's like she was dragging him instead of just picking him up since he was scared, he's just a puppy. When she brought Teddy to me she said "so what are you watering him or something?" I was confused so I asked her what did she mean and she said am I taking him to the pool or giving him baths and I said yes I give him baths but not so much only when he starts to smell or gets dirty from outside. She seemed so irritated and ready for me to go. So rude. Seeing my Teddy like this breaks my heart because it's like they just gave up on him. Never going back there again! read more

First time using PetSmart in Grand Forks ND-was left with less than a great feeling. The dogs haircut was done well-no complaints there. The rating comes from the "extra care charge" levied by the groomer of $10 because my dog didn't like its feet touched when trimming its nails-never paid for that at other groomers. She said its because she's on camera & corporate gets upset if she takes too long. It looked to me that she was the only groomer working & she said she was behind. My dog was there 5 hours. They were definitely short staffed. It was also apparent they didn't have time to potty the dog or give it water when I got home. Finally, we agreed they'd call when it was ready but they emailed me instead, I by chance looked in my email while waiting for them to call. They will be an option in the future but not on my short list. read more

Ive gotten my dog groomed here several times, never had a problem. Then one lady that has never cut my dogs hair is grooming him this time, and long story short: she gave up. She accused him of having worms and being too skinny (he doesn't have worms, and has not dropped a pound of weight since the last time I had his fur cut). I truly believe this employee is lazy, and decided she didn't want to cut my dogs fur an hour before they closed. Terrible experience, will never be spending my money there again, and will recommend to everyone I know to do the same. read more

I'm writing a second review. I normally take my schnauzer to Hailey for grooming. She is great, but unfortunately out on maternity leave. So since we were desperate for a cut, we saw another young lady. She was absolutely the sweetest thing, but i am horribly upset about the finished product. I showed her a pic, and instructed her to leave the Eyebrows and beard long. Not only did she do the opposite of that, my baby's haircut was horrible! Long stands sticking up randomly, and uneven. The part that made me the most angry is the nasty razor burn and cuts on the sides of her neck. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this store and will continue shopping there and having ny schnauzers groomed there (with hailey), and even this girl was as kind as kind could be. I don't think I should have had to pay for a cut that I could have done myself and for a cut that did physical harm to my baby girl. I am sure she is a good groomer, in know she's been booked crazy with 2 employees out on leave, but maybe not say you can do a cut you've maybe not had experience doing. I'd have understood. All employees are wonderful, and provide top notch customer service, but i had to be honest about this experience. Needless to say I'm upset about it. read more

we have had our appointment booked for grooming for 3 weeks. we picked the same groomer for the last 3 times as she is excellent and understands that our dog hates being groomed at home. we brush him weekly and we always have him shaved at his grooming sessions. he's been getting groomed since he was 3 months old and he always is shaved and groomers tell us that this is smart because he hates being brushed. in 3 years of grooming every single 4 months, it take 2 hours. this time, we arrive and find out our dog is not having the stylist we requested because she's now free lance. this new gal shames my husband because our dog is matted, yep, we know, he is every single time and that is why we shave him down... nah... she shames my husband and tells him it'll be 4 hours and way more money. as we sit in our car (35 minutes from home waiting for our poor dog to be finished, we have called and spoken to our retired groomer, she felt so bad that she is going to just do our dog every 4 months so he never has to go through this again. we have spent a lot on our dog and always at pet smart, today that changed. we will never use pet smart again. the disrespect and clearly someone who doesn't know what they are doing is disgusting. we should have never given pet smart a second chance after that very first visit where they nicked our dog and cost us a 200 vet bill. the manager convinced us to give them a second chance, that was the worst mistake we made. avoid this service if you have a dog who isn't perfect I guess. shame on you pet smart. read more

Went in looking for a Globetta or a regular betta fish.. me and my boyfriend asked "which one would you recommend getting?" The extremely rude employee said "neither, they are all going to die anyways." I couldn't believe my ears when that left that lady's mouth. She was BEYOND rude and extremely unprofessional. I will NEVER be back to this store because of this experience. On top of all of this, NONE of the betta cups had air holes for them to get oxygen. Extremely negligent and animal abuse in my books. read more

My daughter called the store at 8:50 pm, yes, ten minutes before closing, and ask the person on the phone if they had specific Royal Canine dog food because I was having a hard time finding it in town. The girl on the phone said she could not go and check if they had any in the store. I arrived at the store at 8:57 with three people standing at one checkout in the front of the store bullsh-tting, and they said to me, "you just made it in the nick of time." wow! I go to the dog food aisle and surprise, no Royal Canine dog food! The whole trip and last-minute walking could have been avoided if people working at a retail store had just a little customer service skills. Three employees can stand talking in the front of the store, and not one of them could take the time to walk to the middle of the store and see if they had a product on the shelf.... And we wonder why the online business is taking over the country!!! read more

I don't usually write reviews but I am pretty worked up so I figured I would. First of all it is extremely overpriced to get your dog groomed here. I paid $81 for a haircut and bath I could have done myself, plus when I was given back my dog the groomer was rude. I just moved here recently and would not normally support groomers not local if I can help it, however I was in a pinch to get my dog a trim before the 4th. I get my dog groomed every 4-6 weeks so I know what to expect and how to take care of him in between sessions. When I showed up all the groomers seemed less than enthused to groom. It only took them just over an hour to finish grooming my dog, which seems great except it should take 3-4 hours so they were rushing. When I got there to pick up my dog, the first thing the groomer (Hailey) said to me was "do you know your dog bites". Keep in mind I have an 8 pound Maltipoo who has never bit another person or groomer ever. I stated that that has never been voiced to me by previous groomers one of which was my mom and the other a groomer I went to for over a year so I would know if he was bad while getting groomed. She simply told me that they were bad groomers then, although they were all way better than she was in my opinion. Overall a bad experience. Just go somewhere local where they care about your pet. read more

Normally I don't leave reviews but I felt this one was much needed. We have used other PetSmart groomers around the country since we travel full time, and they have always been great with us. We will normally drop off in the morning and pick up after work (5 hours is the norm). This time we dropped off at 9:30am, groomer called at 12:42 to say she was done. We were only supposed to work till 1:30 but things got busy and we were help up an extra hour. At 2:34pm I received another call from a very snappy girl wanting to know when we would be by to get our dog. I explained that we were working and trying to finish up, but it was made clear that we would get there ASAP. A few minutes later she called my husbands phone, he told her the same thing, really? Finally able to wrap things up at 2:30 we get to PetSmart and the girl tells me my dog has been very anxious and whining. I get the dog and go to pay, 6 deep at register, and the dog looses it on the store floor. Evidently they don't take dogs out at all, even if they are whining, so our dog needed to go potty and had to hold it as to not go in the kennel. When I our dog outside and she jumps up into the seat I notice blood all over the seat. Looks like she was cut pretty badly while getting nails done, sad part was she was still bleeding hours later when we picked her up. So yep I'm sure she was a bit stressed. Needless to say we will not return to the Grand Forks PetSmart. Stick with private groomers who care about the pets, and don't look at them as just another paycheck. read more

I placed an order online and when I stopped off to pick it up the order was ready to go. It was four big bundles of kitty litter and heavier than I am allowed to lift. The wonderful person who assisted me split the bundles and loaded it into a cart for me. It was then easy to handle and I didn't even have to ask. Thank you Fiona. read more

I've gone to these ladies when they worked in Petco as well as when they went to petsmart. They care for the animals and make sure everyone is happy with their groom. Offering to make sure anything that might need changed is changed even when the groom looks perfect. My dogs always smell wonderful and look amazing. I know theyre limited because legally they're not allowed to take dogs outside for customers. Because what happens if your dog gets loose and gets hit by a car? Oh yeah. It would be their fault. And letting your dogs sit in kennels all day because you think going to work while they're being groomed is smart but in fact it is somewhat stupid and borderline cruel. Which is why they call to have you come pick up your dog immediately. Also dogs who are anxious have a tendency to scratch at the kennels and open quicks that previously were just fine. They do that because they have to sit in a kennel until you get off work and pick them up. And I know if I contact the girls for any complaint I have they will fix it immediately. That there is customer service in my opinion. The prices are amazing and the girls are sweet as can be. Plus really knowledgable about grooming. read more
