l have taken 2 different dogs here years apart. The first time for a complete groom including ear plucking & nail trim. Lousy job. The woman acted very nervous even touching him. He was NOT an aggressive dog. Year: 2014. The second dog was new to me. I had adopted her from YWAC. Nonaggressive & sweet. Went to PerSmart trying to keep things low key for her. First trip I asked that her nails be trimmed. Minimal if anything done. Next visit wanted ears plucked. Looked like they cut(!) a bit of hair or of each ear. Upon walking in expect to be hit with a strong animal stench. I came in for a cat tree but they were hosting a dog class of some sort directly next to the cat trees and I couldn't get to them on account of the large, barking dogs in my way. Turned around and walked right back out. read more

The groomer Samantha, has an absolutely terrible attitude, and is incredibly unprofessional. We had an appointment to get our golden doodle groomed at 10:30. After being stuck in traffic we arrived at 10:43, and walked in. At 10:44 we received a text saying our appointment had been cancelled. As we're walking inside the store. No courtesy call, just cancelled. We walk in the grooming room, and she has the audacity to ask if we wanted to reschedule? That our appointment time has already been filled. Even though we scheduled this appointment days in advance, and it was given to a random person for us being less than 15 minutes late. Pay the extra money and take your dog to a real groomer, this "budget friendly" option brings more headache than it warrants. Trust me. read more

The stores is set up fine - but the staff is super unhelpful. I came here for dog treats. My dog requires special, vet prescribed dog food and treats. So I have to come here or order from Chewy. I went to the place in the store where the dog treats were supposed to be, but couldn't find it. Right beside the food was the Banfield pet hospital, so I went to the desk and asked the lady. She said the pet hospital was separate, and she couldn't look it up. Which I get - but come on - pick up the phone and call someone. So then I went wandering around the store aimlessly to find an employee. When I finally found someone they walkied to someone else who said they were out. It seemed odd that the response was so fast whoever was on the other end obviously didn't look it up. I go back to the section one last time, and I found the treats I was looking for shoved back behind something else. On the bright side - they price match. Next time I'll just order from Chewy. I'd rather pay for shipping then waste 20 minutes of my life here again. read more

Not great people to bring your dog to. The groomers seemed stressed and when I walked into the room they told me to get out because there were to many people in there. They made my dogs nails bleed and when she came out she had poop on her butt. Not something you should see right after a grooming appointment. When I called they told me she could have pooped right as they got her out to bring her to me. So I'm also guessing they don't get a potty break the 3-4 hours they are there for a grooming. I like this pet store but I always feel like it's overcrowded. Then there's the time when you decide to take your pup in w/ you and he decides to hike his leg on a shelf. Of course I would have the bad child in Petsmart. I still shop here but there are others around town that have better prices (Pet Supplies Plus) and better variety (AgriFeed). I've never needed help but I just realized I've never been asked if I needed help either. I took my dog here to get groomed. He is 14 years old and a smaller dog. I was told that I would get a call when they were finished with him. When I receive the call they told me he had had a panic attack and had left them in the cage to dry. This is unacceptable to me. Why was I not called so I can come pick him up immediately? When I got there his haircut with uneven and I had to have them redo it. They didn't Cut his nails at all and I had to bring them back for that as well. I was told that they could no longer groom my dog and I would have to take him to a vet that does grooming. If your company cannot take on older dogs then you need to let the clients know that ahead of time. I do feel that regardless of age if you are good at your job as a groomer they should be of no consequence. I would be wary to ever bring your pet to these groomers. They did not even handle my dog softly and were rather rough. Avoid at all costs! read more

if i could rate 0 stars i would. today i brought my dog for his scheduled vet appointment, when we first walked in we were greeted off the bat by a lovely receptionist. fast forward we're waiting for who we thought was going to be the normal doctor who always comes out to grab him, the vet tech girl came out and got him & she put the orange and green leash they normally put on & my dog is REFUSING to come to the back he's pulling ok normal but the issue was the vet tech started YANKING on the leash that's wrapped around his neck, as he's resisting her she's STILL PULLING THE LEASH, We got the the door to the back& he stops and sits and she's again PULLING THE LEASH, NOW the leash is tightening around my dogs neck, i've had this dog for 3 months and i have NEVER IN MY LIFE heard him YELP and SQUEAL and GAG cause he's GASPING for air. we talked to the lady who greeted us at the front desk to request the same people who's normally gets our dog to get him and she said "normally the doctors have vet tech working with them for the day, but i can put in the system you would prefer the leashes to be a harness rather than around his neck to make us more comfortable". little while later we talked with the doctor about the incident that just happened and he tried to say we were lying that "the only way they can be choked is if the said person is pulling the leash, and no one here does that" but yet MY DOG WAS GASPING CHOKING GAGGING YELPING. i'm very disappointed in my visit today. read more

We love taking our dogs to Samantha! She takes such good care of our babies. Our dogs love her. We have a Siberian Husky and a Jack Russell and she dotes on them both. She takes extra care of our JR's skin and gave our Husky some much needed TLC with her coat. Our dogs love going to her and always come out happy. She does an amazing job! Took my dog here for the first time to get a bath - which included a nail trim, anal glands, and ear cleaning too - or so I thought. Honestly it's as if my dog never got any of that done. His nails were still pretty long, he was still dragging his butt like they didn't do his anal glands and now about a week later he is oily and smells worse than he did before we took him to get the bath. The baths I give him at home work better and last longer and I paid $30 for them to do it because I wanted him to get a good bath. Honestly such a waste of money, I'm never bringing him back again. Nice pet store with lots of dog toys and treats ... reasonable prices... lots of dog food choices.. and you can even take your dog friends with you. Which is always fun! They have groomers, which I've never used but it looks clean and you can see them work on the dogs because the whole grooming area is glass. The have a vet clinic to (again I don't use it but I see alot of people take their pets there) They always have adoptions available since they work with the local animal shelter alot. They also have a pet training center which one of my dogs will be attending next month , so more on that later! read more

Went there today because pet supermarket has closed the location I usually went to :( know they have the food I buy my dog there too but for $6 more dollars. Bought food and went home. Happened to look at expiration date on RAW FOOD. 4 months! 4 MONTHS! How in the hell is this food still being sold? Not one single employee stocking the frozen food happened to check this! The good- this store offers much better selection of dog toys and collars/leashes than their Turkey Creek location. The bad- our terrible experience at the grooming center will ensure that we will never again use Petsmart for grooming at ANY location. The ugly experience- I made an appointment a week In advance IN STORE at the Turkey Creek location to have my dog groomed the day prior to leaving town for a family wedding. When I arrived at the Turkey Creek location, I was told we did not have an appointment at that location, that the appointment was across town at the Morrell Rd location. Let me be clear this was Petsmarts' error, not mine, I would not drive to Turkey Creek to make an appointment at a location across town. Since I had a ton of other tasks to do in preparation for the wedding (and it was their mistake) I asked if there was any way they could squeeze us in at Turkey Creek. I was told they did not have any openings for another three days. Since we were flying out of town the next day I now had no option but to go across town to Morrell Rd. I then explained that it would take me thirty minutes to drive across town to the Morrell Rd location and although I was early for our appointment at Turkey Creek location I would now be late for our actual appointment at Morrell Rd. I asked if I needed to call and tell them I would be late because it was imperative that the dog get groomed TODAY before we went out of town. I was told it would be no problem since I had an appointment at that location. GOOD customer service would have been for Turkey Creek to call Morrell Rd and explain the situation and ensure the appointment was kept, not brush it off, certainly not place the burden on the customer when it was Petsmarts' mistake. I did try to call on my own and was patched through to the grooming department several times but no one ever picked up. When I entered the grooming center at Morrell Rd the first thing I noticed was the phone ringing off the hook and that NOT ONE phone call was ever picked up by any of the THREE attendants at the desk. I work in retail, I understand busy, but it is inexcusable for three people to stand around and ignore the phone- those are potential customers. After standing in line for ten minutes and an attendant at the desk allowing a pushy customer to cut in front of me and another gentleman who had been in line before I got there, I was told that because we were more than ten minutes late, our appointment had been surrendered to a walk-in client. So much for no problem, you have appointment! So once again we're back to begging and pleading for an appointment today. This time I was told to just leave my dog and they would fit him in "sometime in the next four hours." Four hours being a rather large block of time I left my cell number and asked them to call me when the dog was ready so that I could go complete some of my errands. Five hours later and I've completed my errands, even had dinner with my husband, and no one had called. We decided to just go over there and wait for the dog to be ready. So we head back across town to Petsmart and patiently wait our turn. When we get to the desk and give them our dogs name we were told he had been given a bath an hour ago but he was afraid of the dryer, would we like for them to towel dry the dog? I said "yes please" but in my head I'm thinking if my dog is afraid of the dryer and his options are to sit in a cage and shiver or be toweled off shouldn't COMMON SENSE dictate that he be toweled dry? How would using a towel on my dog harm him in any way? Is there an extra charge for towels? If the groomers aren't allowed to make common sense decisions shouldn't they have called the owner for direction? We get our dog and load him in the car and get him home before we realized that four of his nails were bleeding from cutting too close to the quick. Luckily we use a seat cover in the car so none of the blood got on our apolstery in the car but we had blood stains in the house. I can forgive cutting into the quick once, but cutting the quick four times is pure negligence. Beyond that I picture him bleeding, wet and cold sitting in a cage for an hour and we PAID to have him tortured! Terrible service from start to finish. read more

I usually get my maltese shaved once or twice a year, and they do a good job with him. He can be pretty evil when it's grooming time. My only complaint is that in order to pay for your grooming service, you have to get in line outside in the retail check out area of the store, and i ALWAYS get stuck behind someone with 500 cans of cat food. It's so annoying because I have one slip of paper, nothing more, and it would be much more convenient to be checked out in the grooming area. Oh well. read more

Impossible to do business with. This is the third time we have made an appointment for our dog to be groomed and at the time of the appointment PetSmart calls and says they don't have his rabies records. The appointments are hard to get on Saturdays, so it usually ends up being Sunday. We call the vet on Friday or Saturday to email over the records. They always do it right away. The vet is closed on Sunday and so when they say they don't have the records on Sunday, we have to cancel the appointment. The stores records show that the dog was there 3 months ago, but they did not have the right shot records at that time. What?? Finding another groomer. It should not be this hard. read more

1st time here & a rude woman standing up front demanding attention wanted to cut in line in front of all of us.we said no and she made a scene saying rude things to me and my 4 year old daughter till she cried. She should of been asked to leave the store but instead they chose to take her to the front of the line & while checking her out she kept attacking me and another woman and my child again after i asked her to stop speaking to my child multiple times she was scaring her .poor management to let a customer to treat people like that def won't return there again. Everyone has important things too do every customer is just as important as the other. And there manager should of apologized to us for allowing that kind of behavior in there store. No one should be made to feel unsafe especially when the woman comes outside and starts screaming at me again while I'm trying to get my daughter in the car. I def won't return i would hate to run into that crAzy lady again especially since she said she's a regular I'd imagine she treats a lot of people that way. This place has everything you need. Huge selection of toys and supplies for every critter in your life. Decently priced and the staff actually knows what they're talking about. I don't use the grooming center here so can't speak to that. I usually just roll in and grab a toy, bag of food, and some treats and roll out. I've never had a bad experience here. read more

Not as bad as the feedback I'm seeing online. They just seemed busy and understaffed, great store and knowledgable employees.

My first experience here was not grand. I had bought a kennel in Austin to help get my dogs from there to Knoxville. While my husband and I were unloading, our clumsy puppy ran into the kennel and it caught her eyelid. She freaked out but wasn't hurt just going to have a little soreness for a while but after that and knowing how clumsy puppies are I wanted to return the kennel for a different one. I went to Petsmart on line and they told me to just explain to the store what happened and they should fix it for me. I did just that and the manager seemed like she just wanted to not even hear me. She made suggestions but one was almost the exact kennel we were returning and another was almost 100 over what we spend on the original. She left me to look and I found one that was perfect and cost lower than what I paid. She then asked me if I was sure and told me that was the one I had. It was not so I told her yes I was sure. The box was already opened and it looked like someone returned it but we needed a kennel. She carried it to the register for me which was really nice but when she got to check me out she let a older couple cut in front of me even though she was suppose to be helping me. Oh well, got what we needed and got out. I like the store as they have good sales and our puppy is going to a training class there with Ms. Shauna. She's wonderful and very helpful with anything puppy. We highly recommend her. She is the reason for stars two and three. We are thinking about going to the groomers with our puppy but are worried as I have seen older, bigger scared dogs and the staff just rolls their eyes at them and holds them tighter. Maybe we will try it out but if we do we will stay in the store the whole time and watch. read more
