I cannot understand the five star reviews for this place, I can only think the reviewers do not understand that there are much better boarding options out there upon which to set their standards. This is a GLORIFIED SHELTER. It wasn't at all what we were expecting and we actually feel pretty guilty for leaving our two puppers here. We definitely won't be bringing them back. We got the "Luxury Suite" and requested they be given toys for their stay (you click the options when you use their obligatory curbside pick up. You are not allowed inside to see where your dog is staying. This was a RED FLAG I wish I'd paid more attention to). We used the Live Webcam sporadically through their stay and saw they were never given any toys! None! Not for nearly two days! They just laid there, bored out of their minds. I'm not sure how they are selling the "luxury" part of this scam, either; your dog is staying in a shelter-like kennel, surrounded by other dogs. Potty breaks are very spaced out (5 hours apart) and minimal--they weren't let out after 4:00 PM!! I am completely flabbergasted at the services offered, their stay in no way reflected what we were led to believe our pups would experience. We got our pups back and it was clear they'd also had minimal human contact the entire time we were gone; we watched on camera during pick up as they went crazy for attention when someone came to pick them up (not at all characteristic of them). They stank like a shelter and have diarrhea and are exhausted from not sleeping (surrounded by constant barking the whole time, just like in a shelter). It's as if we took them to the Animal Shelter for the weekend, not the resort-style experience we thought we were purchasing for our fur babies. Our dogs were there for less than 48 hours and it cost us almost $250!!! We were quoted a price MUCH lower when we dropped them off and they didn't apply our veteran discount, even though we discussed it on the phone. USE ROVER. read more

I've been taking my pup here for day camp, boarding and grooming since April 2019. I found it to be one of the nicest pet facilities in Knoxville -- it's very clean, there's decent outdoor space for the dogs and it looks nothing like a shelter. For day camp, the dogs get two, hour and half play periods (separated by size) which might not be enough if you have a young dog with a lot of energy, but of course it's better than nothing. Camp spaces can fill up really fast; one of my biggest gripes with this place is that you really need to book in advance - especially for Friday spots. If your schedule stays the same and you know it in advance, then it shouldn't be a problem for you. However, that isn't the case for my husband and I. Because we need to book week by week, we are often unable to use Petsafe for day camp and have to use a different place. As for boarding, there's no where else I'd rather leave my dog for a weekend or long trip. Again, the rooms are really nice and they offer lots of different options, with add-ons like special treats. I love the webcam for checking in on my pup too. One thing I don't like is that there is no camp on the weekend, so no interaction or play time with other dogs. I usually pay extra for my dog to have a VIP season aka one on one time with the attendant so he doesn't get too bored. I also don't like that you can't call on the weekends to see how your dog is doing. In general, the phone system is so bad there that often you have to call multiple times before you get through. It is easily my biggest frustration with the place. Finally, the groomer is great. She's given my dog the best hair cuts he's ever gotten. So overall, you can expect to have a good experience here. I know my dog loves it and I know he's in good hands whether I'm at work for the day or traveling for the week. read more

Looked at the reviews at finding a new place for our two Huskies and pomeranian and we chose to check this place out....I can tell ya...this place really is nice. Upon walking in I was really impressed with all the happy dogs in the lobby area. They looked well taken care of. The lady told us that she was full for the weekend..bummer. But we asked to take a tour anyway since we were already there and heard good things and we needed a great place...upon walking back to the back there were employees everywhere. They had a doggie day camp area, which was big and clean. This place was like a resort for your furbabies...seriously. I really liked it. The staff had handheld radios so they could talk back and forth to each other. Really clean. Did not smell like dog pee at all. Will be booking here in the future.. Highly recommended. read more

ZOMG. I love this place. Hubband and I are very protective of Pooch and this place makes me feel like less of a crazy dog parent. We filled out a VERY detailed questionnaire the first time we boarded Pooch, including questions about what tricks she knows and whether she has a favorite toy. What's more, if you pay a little extra, your fur friend can stay in a "Luxury Suite" that has...wait for it..a doggie cam! Now when Hubband and I travel, we can check in on Pooch throughout the day. I can almost hear the groans and see the eye rolls, but if you are a crazy dog lady like me, you understand these things! To my knowledge this is the only dog boarding place with 24/7 care and observation, which is peace of mind for us since Pooch has epilepsy and the last place we boarded her she had a seizure and no one was there :( Speaking of which, they are VERY regimented about giving dogs their medication on time and making sure EVERYONE working there knows about their conditions--this was also a huge relief to me and Hubband. We started taking our Lab Chloe to PetSafe Day Camp because of its location and a friend referred us. I had no idea the staff would be so professional, friendly, and passionate about the care and well-being of our dog. These folks go out of their way to ensure Chloe loves her time there, and can't wait to go back. Sometimes on weekends she gets depressed she misses her friends there. I can tell they spoil her by the way she acts when she sees them. No apprehension at all! It's all tail-wagging, and going to them with everything she's got. Rosalee is an EXCELLENT trainer. Our youngest dog has attended three full training classes with her and we definitely see the improvements! I went to Pet Safe Village to use their Self-Wash service as both of the dogs needed a goood bath. I was pretty amazed when I drove into their complex. Huge buildings and wide grounds. I noticed they had a park and thought it was a good idea to let the dogs even get more stinky before their bath. The enclosed pet park was a good size. They had a trail where you could walk around with your dog and a grassy play area. My favorite part is the gross body of water sitting in the middle of the park. It was green an disgusting but the dogs jumped right into it and had a blast swimming. We walked across the street and got into the tub. They provided towels, shampoo and a dryer. All for $10 a dog. Not a bad deal for getting to keep my tub clean at home. They also have what appears to be nice boarding and day care services. This place is a little drive from my house but I will proably be back, esp because the dog park is being expanded! read more

Pet Safe Village was a class act! I recently moved to Knoxville, and I previously preferred to board my dog at our vet. However, our vet here does not offer weekend pick-ups. We needed to drop off on a Friday and pick up on a Saturday. Not only do they offer weekend pick-ups, but you can basically pick up 24/7 (with additional cost). It is very convenient. They also have great facilities, and the staff is very friendly and professional. For instance, we realized once we arrived home per our emailed receipt that we had been accidentally charged for an additional night. After notifying the staff, they immediately credited my account and were very apologetic. It was very refreshing. I definitely recommend this facility-they care about the dogs and want them to be comfortable and happy. read more

If I the hotel I'm staying at doesn't let dogs stay... if my mother can't keep them for me... I leave them here. Its clean, the staff is friendly. And it is very helpful that you can pick up or drop off 24/7! They are really good about always checking to make sure my dogs are utd on all shots. The dog park available is really nice! Theres even a little pond like area if you have a water loving dog! The prices are reasonable. read more

Stay is from 10/15/2015 at 10:00 to 10/19/2015 18:00 I paid for the Luxury Suites, VIP extra, and dog camp extra. I left my dog to attend a conference, therefore I have my webcam set up to watch my dog as the presentations go on. As of right now I am livid !!!! I'm thinking of having my friend pick my dog up later today. Yesterday, I noticed my dog didn't get outside that much. Today, I've been watching since 5:45, at 8:00 I called when I saw about ten dogs head outside. When I called to ask about my dogs day camp time, the man stated 7:30-9:00. I said that's funny I've been watching him since 7:30 (it was 8oclock now) and he HAD NOT been out yet. Finally, at 8:16 they came for my dog. I've videotaped all of it on my phone so if people need proof and not just my word, I have it. Today, sure as H*LL better go a lot different. I'm not paying $72 a day for you to feed my dog twice !!! read more

We heard so many recommendations for Petsafe Village, but were so disappointed. Our boy had a lot of fun, obviously, because when we picked him up he was filthy. Dried mud was caked on his legs & belly. There was no groomer in today, but they offered to allow us to rinse him off for $10. Ahhh, NO. He was obviously never wiped off after outside playtime, which meant mud was tracked on the floor of his "suite" and he then laid on the floor. He's never smelled so awful. For all the times we've ever boarded any of our dogs, we've never had our furbaby returned to is in anywhere near this unacceptable condition. We cannot recommend Petsafe Village and will never leave our dog here again. read more

Day boarded my cats here and the staff have been pleasant and professional even though one of my cats is not well behaved. When the manager quoted me one price on the phone and staff told me a different higher price later, I questioned it and they worked with me to meet the quoted rate. The cat room has 3x3 "condos" on facing walls with an adjacent playroom where your cat can exercise daily. (There may be other options I'm not aware of as well). I'm honestly so impressed by this place!! This is the first time I boarded my cat, and she can be a bit shy and timid but that was no issue for them. You can watch your kitty in the the playroom they have via webcam, and it's so great! I saw an employee come in and start petting my kitty, picking her up and giving her all sorts of love and attention! Then she let her down, and my kitty just went on playing/exploring the room. They were also very understanding of when I called and asked how she was doing. They checked on my cat and gave me a whole report on her. The facilities are very clean and everyone is very nice. The cats are away from the dogs and are able to chill out. I think it's well worth the price and I will absolutely be using them again. Best pet paradise in town! read more

My boy goes there for daycare. He is ecstatic for 2+ miles when he realizes where we are going and happily barks to get there quicker. His very favorite is Jessica and she loves my Beau almost as much as I do. What I appreciate most is that they are helpful to my dad when he drops him off, they are engaged with all the pets and I feel like my boy is safe. There is a large enough staff, which isn't the case everywhere, and the facilities are great. I would recommend the daycare to anyone who wants a fun, active day for their four footers. read more

I was pressed into dog sitting for my daughter's pet and she asked me to take Coco to her last dog trick training class at Pet Safe. When we arrived coco couldn't get in fast enough. She loves Pet Safe and no wonder. The place is clean, roomy and filled with staff who obviously love dogs. CoCo successfully completed the course and I successfully succeeded pet sitting. read more

This is the BEST dog boarding / doggie camp facility! We've moved around a good bit and have never found one that comes close. The staff is professional, friendly, and experienced. They provide break away collars to keep your pet safe - so you don't have to worry about their collar getting caught. The facility is extremely clean, we saw them cleaning the floor when we picked up our dogs and during the day on the web cams. They carefully check that your pet has all the applicable vaccinations prior to your visit. 24/7 supervision is also provided (which I've found is very rare). They also sent us a photo of our dog playing during the day via email and an evaluation of my dogs from the day when I pick them up. The prices are very reasonable too! Our dogs love coming here!!! On the up side this place is clean and they do love dogs. The bad side I found out that after a few visits my Bently was not getting much play time for day care. After viewing their webcams I discovered the dogs are only out for about an 1 early morning and another hour in the afternoon for play time. The rest of the time they are being caged up!! Not my idea of a day care. If you want your dog to experience cageless day care with plenty of play time and access to potty 24/7 take them to Pets R People 2 it's right down the road and my Bently absolutely LOVES this place. read more

I have boarded my dogs at PetSafe Village a few times. In every instance, it seems, when I walk them before putting them in the car to go home after their stay there, they have to urgently urinate and it seems as if they have not been walked for a very long time due to the amount that they needed to "go". Even though I paid for "potty breaks", I do not believe that the staff actually walked them. I also put their meals in portioned containers so that all the staff has to do is empty each day's meal into their bowls. In both boarding instances, the staff just throws away perfectly good, reusable containers. I even asked them NOT throw those away (and there were several for each meal, each day) and they tossed them anyway. I talked to the front desk about and they stated that they NEVER throw those away, but they did - both times. They also gave me a bill that was not itemized, so I really do not know what I was paying for - it was just one lump sum. There are other kennels in Knox County - look for another one. read more
