Oh, PetSmart, how would I survive without you? I came in for one thing--dog food. Just a simple bag of kibble for my furry best friend. And yet, somehow, I left with a cart full of items I didn't even know my dog needed. Apparently, he had to have a squeaky taco, a doggy raincoat, and a plush bed that looks more comfortable than my own. You really do have everything, don't you? From gourmet treats shaped like miniature cupcakes to chew toys that could survive the apocalypse. My dog doesn't even know what half of these things are, but I'm sure he's grateful that I dropped half my paycheck to make his life as cushy as possible. The staff, of course, were super helpful in pointing out all the "essentials" I might've overlooked. "Oh, you don't have a heated water bowl for winter?" they asked, as though I've been neglecting my poor dog this whole time. And don't get me started on the grooming section--it's basically a doggy spa. Next thing I know, they'll be offering doggy massages and aromatherapy. In conclusion, PetSmart is a paradise for pet owners and a trap for our wallets. My dog is living his best life, and I'm living with buyer's remorse. Five stars. Would shop again. This review is specifically for the grooming department. Scheduled an appointment for dog grooming with a specific groomer that we had used and were VERY happy with. Albeit new, "J" did a fantastic job on our pup, took extra care and was so kind. Fast forward a couple days before the visit and I get a phone call from the salon. Whoever was on the phone was inappropriate and unprofessional. She said she needed to "change" my groomer because my choice of "J" wouldn't do as"J" wasn't done with "training". When i was contacted again, I'm assuming by a manager, I explained my issue of the change at which time she explained that "J" was quite capable of doing her job. YES! I know that! I don't know what's going on, but it would appear a bit of cut throat switching going on. We won't be back. read more

I have been taking my dog here for close to 3 years and the last couple of times have not been great experience. My dog has loved grooming for close to 1 a month for 5 years but our experience yesterday was not positive. My fur baby was unhappy the whole time during his grooming which tells me that something isn't right when he always looked forward to grooming. He use to meet my previous Groomer with excited. Going into PetSmart he fights me and was verbally unhappy yesterday. I feel so bad putting him through this as it obviously stressed him out. Like children, listen and watch for your dog reactions as they know what goes on during the treatment. To all of a sudden be so upset tells me this is not the right place. Also while waiting to pick up my dog, another lady had the same situation with her fur baby. read more

I really want to give a Big shout out to Denise the cashier though, she was so humble and let us stay inside the building with our dog when our car was broken down while we waited for help. Great petsmart store. Nice and clean and has tons of food and supplies for your pets. I have 2 cats and a dog and it's the only place around that carries the food my pets eat. They have cats up for adoption daily and team up with the local shelter and the shelter has dog adoptions from time to time at the store. Store is clean and offers grooming and dog training. I recommend using the PetSmart app and becoming a treats member to activate offers/coupons that apply at check out. You can also order online and do store pickup. Grooming: I have used the grooming a few times for a bath and brush and they have done wonderful with my puppy. Training. My puppy has completed the puppy training with Denise and she is a wonderful trainer. We learned many new commands, tips, and loose leash walking skills. My puppy loved class and would always try to go to the classroom even when it wasn't class time. He loved meeting other dogs, learning commands, and most of all getting all the treats while training. read more

I went to shop and came back to check on her and they have the dog in a collar and wrestling with the dog! There were two groomers and the one was just standing around like no big deal. She said we couldn't finish because it was becoming dangerous. These so called groomers do not know what they are doing. I wouldn't recommend this place to NO ONE! read more

I took my slow moving, losing eye sight and hearing 14 year old dog to Pet Smart Lake Havasu City, Az, to have a cut and shampoo. When I dropped him off, I gave the lady this information. When I returned to pick him up, I was told not to bring him back, because it takes too long to cut him and all he wants to do is sit down. The store itself is great. It's large, open, and clean. They have a great selection of products for all your pets. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is usually very easy to get in, grab what I need, and get out in under 10 minutes. There is a large parking lot with plenty of spaces. The only days this place gets really busy is on the weekends - particularly days when they do adoptions. My sister-in-law adopted a cat from here and she's a great cat. PetSmart partners with local humane societies, so it's a great place to adopt an animal from (in addition to the local humane society). Been going here for awhile but had a disturbing experience when My dog was getting her nails done this past week. I went back to get the receipt & saw the groomer hollar at her, yank the harness (eventhough my dog was sitting still & panting) & hit her 3 times with the bottom part of her right hand holding the grinder. Horrible Grooming experience! Second attempt to get our little doggie groomed here, They are always a day or two out even though when your in the store there are three girls in the grooming salon standing around doing absolutely nothing! So we get her in on a Friday morning and are told a regular bath & brush with a "Tidy" will take about 2 to 3 hours... one hour later we are called and she's all done! Well we pick her up looking about the same as when we dropped her off??! her feet were a little wet still and dirty and her coat looked hardly brushed, although they put a pretty bow on her head, she didn't even smell like she had been bathed! No tidy! no nails clipped no eyes cleaned! none of the "regular" services provided... I truly have done better in the kitchen sink! needless to say we will not use this PetSmart's grooming salon ever again! read more

So after my second horrible customer service experience at this location I decided to give them a third chance with nothing changed, I asked for help after seeing the girl in The fish department was busy with another customer I asked another associate engaged in some menial task and she just pointed me back to the fish department, in which I informed her that that associate was busy and she ignored my reply, another employee walked by obviously not fixed on customer service she pretty much gave me the same answer as the first girl, so after waiting about another 15 minutes with no help I decided to leave the store and spend my $200 elsewhere, the manager here needs to prioritize customer service, or finding a new job obviously you suck in retail and store management where customer service is number one priority, maybe give your employees some motivation or incentive to strive for better. read more

The store is clean . I went for the flea med special, buy 1 get 2nd for half . This is sold as an empty box, I suppose to deter theft. Upon taking the empty box to the checker, she asked another employee to check and see if they had any. After 5 minutes, the Checker had to do it herself and leave the check stand. She was very nice and offered my dog a treat. I'll be back. This store is just a store, not bad or exceptional. read more

We recently returned to Petsmart to buy a bunch of different kinds of products for our dog's allergy issues. (He was scratching like crazy, day and night. We were losing sleep cause he didn't want to sleep in his pen in our room when he was very itchy. He would stay in the living room alone) we tried everything at home, bathing him with oatmeal shampoo, giving him allergy meds, washing his bed and blankets to get rid of allergens and taking him to the vet. Nothing helped. We read about other shampoos we could try for his sensitive skin so we went to Petsmart and loaded up with other things like a bed spray and some supplements and coat & skin spray. When we got to the register to pay the Petsmart associate asked us if we found everything we needed and we said we hope so. We went on to explain our pets issues and she said you don't need all this. She called another associate to bring her two boxes of a fish oil supplement called "Licks" and she explained how to use it, how much, how often, etc. She took back some of the stuff we were going to buy and we bought the Licks. Omg I want to cry. After two days my dog can sleep in his bed all night, none to very little itching. I want to hug that lady!! My dog is doing so much better! I just want to thank her and Petsmart for my dog's improved life. I am just so relieved he is no longer suffering. read more

The store itself is wonderful. Helpful people they know what they're doing. But Erica in The Grooming Salon has no clue. I went in Monday to make an appointment for my German Shepherd. I told her that she had special needs. She said no problem. I should have known there would be a problem when she didn't even know how long 48 Hours was. I arrived this morning at 9 for my appointment and she informed me that my dog could not be seen because she had sores on her tail. I told her on Monday that she had sores on her tail she said no problem but today there was a problem. Sorry to say but Erica needs to be retrained on store policies. read more

I have been to this PetSmart many times considering it's the only pet store that sells fish here in town. I came in on Friday after I was told to come Friday for shipment day, and I got 7 fish. 4 guppies and what were suppose to all female mollies. Well the gave me a male molly when I asked before I bought it if they were all females and they said yes. When I got them home one was a male. Last night I found one of my mollies dead. This morning I found one female guppy dead. I took those three fish back to the store to be exchanged. They exchanged the dead ones and exchanged the male for the female I had asked for. Well I get home tonight to find one of the male guppies dead. Keep in mind all the fish that died were the ones that I got this last Friday... so now I have to take yet another fish back to exchange it for a healthy one. This will be my 4th trip in three days... All of my other fish are fine and active so it isn't something I'm doing wrong... read more

We have taken our dog 4 times to get her nails trimmed. The first and second experience was wonderful, the girls were so good with her and our dog does not like getting them done. The third time it was a different girl and she had issues with our dog I guess and could only get three paws done, yet we were still charged full price. We took her back for the last time and it was the same girl and a different girl that didn't seem to know what she was doing. We told them that our dog didn't like getting her nails trimmed so it usually takes two of them, the one girl immediately suggested taking her to the vet. They tried to cut her nails and we shopped around the store and watched through the window from afar, they didn't even try to trim her nails and called us back within five minutes and said our dog cannot come back there that she was thrashing and trying to choke herself which we saw none of as we watched through the window. Needless to say, we were trying to give petsmart grooming department more business but we will go back to our professional groomer at Hermosa that has no problem with our dog and trimming her nails. read more
