This PetSmart grooming location (Hwy 200 @ I75 in Ocala) is a hard no for me. When I dropped off my dog for its grooming appointment, I was advised "we usually need 4-5 hours for a grooming, not the 3 the website estimates". I returned to the grooming salon 4 1/2 hrs later and was advised my dog was bathed and dry but hadn't been groomed. Decided I wasn't going to subject my dog to who knows how much longer (no idea when the groomer was going to finish the dog they were currently grooming no how long they'd take on my pet). Never ever going back to this place. Isabella has been a customer of PetSmart grooming for about a year. First problem I had was with the one in the villages. Then I decided on this on off of 200. Once Amanda left Isabella didn't care about going there anymore. Her tail didn't wag and she just wasn't excited. First sign the place turned into the Doggy DMV. Thursday the 16th my appointment was messed up so I had to give her a bath myself which is hard on my back that's why she is groomed every 3 weeks like clock work. So on Tuesday I made her appointment for 10am. There were 4 doggies scheduled at 10am that made me call them the Doggy DMV. Next Isabella dropped off at 10am picked up 3pm. Oh heck no. We are done with PetSmart. Plus her ears were cut too short and I'm just no longer happy with the service. I believe the new manager is Autumn and it's not the same. Isabella pees a lot and Autumn did recommend these doggy cranberry treats which I went home and ordered from Chewy. They work when we go out of town and at home. I just don't like the vibe there anymore and neither does my Isabella. Plus the price increased which I don't mind but it's not worth the aggravation of my Isabella being stressed out when she leaves. Never again. Looking for a new groomer. I got 3 weeks to look for one because Isabella is not missing her spa days and she WILL NOT be returning to PetSmart. App is now deleted from my iPhone. read more

Do Not go to the Ocala Petsmart for grooming under any circumstance We took our dog in on Tuesday 3-24-26. They called at about 2 1/2 hours and said the dog was done. We paid for the grooming and left. On the way home the dog was trembling and shaking. We got home and the dog went right to here bed and sat there and was shaking and trembling. and would not do anything else. We waited a day or two she was still shaking and trembling. We took her to the vet. We told them she had been this way since she went to the groomer. They did blood work etc. and found no medical issues. They said it looks like she had been traumatized some how. This three year old dog use to meet all the neighbors and run up to see people. But now my dog lay s in her bed and does nothing and runs when you try to pick her up. I don't know what happened at the groomer. But I have lost my good buddy. I can no long play with her or hold her. I can only watch her lay in her bed and be sad. I can only hope hope that in time she will return to her old self and be the dog she use to be read more

The worst experience ever. I called ahead to book my 7 mos old Airedale for clipping. Asked if they could do that, they said yes. Had an appointment today for 9am and we were there on time. They were extremely rude on check in. I was told 4-5 hours. After 5 hours no contact, I called they said at least another 1 1/2 hours. So my puppy had been without water or pee break now expecting to be 6-7 hours! Finally I drove there after 1 1/2 hrs as I had had no communication. Picked her up and she has the worst clip I have ever seen, she looks like a schnauzer. She obviously wasn't finished off as she has long hairs on her tail and feet. I honestly did not have any complaints about this location upon our first visit. We just moved to the area and we stopped in here the first time so Mila can get a picture with the Easter Bunny. The staff were very friendly and patient with Mila. For some reason, she was scared of the Easter Bunny and has been good with Santa. We visited for Santa pictures. I checked online and all the deals were half the price as the store. I found several items in the store and added them to my online cart. There was an abundance of quantities of each item. I get notified later that most of my items were canceled. That tells me the staff was too lazy to retrieve the items. I tried to cancel the order and they would not allow me to. So I have to wait until it's delivered and then return it. Oh and I opted for same day delivery-at 3pm and it was set for the following day. After all that, most of the items were cancelled and because it was a sale of "buy this many, get this many free", I lost out on a lot of money. The store is relatively neat and clean. The store is very big in size and they carry almost everything you can imagine for pets. Mila is always getting pets, compliments, and treats. I went to take my dog in to get his nails trimmed. It says online you don't need to make an appointment (in fact you can't for just a nail trim) and it is open every day until 6. I got there and it was busy. There were 6-7 girls in there. Everyone looked at me but no one acknowledged me. When they finally did and asked what I needed and told them they said they didn't have time. I would have to make an appointment or call ahead between 10-4. When I said my dog would be in for training on Tuesday at 5, one girl said in a not-so-nice way "I said between 10-4." I said it says on the website they are open until 6, and another girl said that was a general corporate website. But no, it clearly says 6 for the pet grooming hours on the Ocala store website. Very rude. No customer service skills. It could have been handled much differently and I would have come back, but how they handled it was unprofessional. Ocala I still had another week before my dog needed grooming , however they called and said they were running a special for two days if I wanted to bring him in, so I did. I got there at my allotted time, and still had to wait 15 minutes to be greeted. The floors were filled with dog fur (or hair) when I got there.....and worse when I left. It was completely overbooked! I was there the previous month and it was nothing like this. I was told 3 to 5 hours for pickup. I arrived in 5 hours and he never had his haircut, yet they were billing me $48 plus tax. Normally $65. When I asked to speak to the manager (Tony), he was nothing but condescending. I literally hate these groomers! I take my dog to get her nails trimmed w/ a luxury bath package, I've done it multiple times and they never trim her nails. That's the whole purpose of me taking her there. I get it because my dog is a squirmer but the aggravation I get afterwards is why I'm done with them! They kept calling me asking to give them another chance and when I do I'm offered 50% off. Ok fine, I'll give them another chance. I take her in and they say her rabies are out dated. I leave and check they are not out dated. I go back again. They say only the team leader will take care of her and she's not in. I take her back again and they say there is no notes on the 50% discount. These groomers suck! Even when I got her hair cut I asked for just a very light trim or to just shape her and it comes out looking like an almost complete shave. We have a new puppy, so we went to PetSmart to buy some things for our new puppy bought puppy food, a bed, a box of disposable potty pads, and a puppy gate. Unfortunately the puppy gate didn't help she was small enough to get through the bars of the gate, so we had to improve vise, should have done a better job searching the gate's available for small puppies our fault. read more

We were interested in adopting a cat and called to speak to a representative who told us the cats would be adopted from 12-3 on Saturday. We drove an hour and a half only to find you have to "apply" for an adoption and people would actually visit your home before you were allowed to adopt a cat. There were plenty of cats available and we were shocked this representative let us drive an hour and a half knowing we wouldn't be able to get a cat that day. BEWARE! read more

Came in earlier this week to see the kittens and the older lady cleaning the cages was very noticeably annoyed with us even being there to look at them. She proceeded to ask us if we needed anything then told us the kittens we were asking about weren't going to be ready until Tuesday around 3, if that. She put a lot of excuses on why we probably would not be able to take them home at all, even Said she was "probably going to have to take them back in because their incisions were not healing well". We felt her not wanting to help us at all and the excuses did not sound true or genuine, so we showed up Tuesday morning instead of the time she said and they had already been adopted. We were not even given the option to apply for adoption beforehand. Not sure if it was our race or obvious sexual orientation that made her feel less inclined to want to help but disappointing experience overall. read more

I am normally a very active dog owner, but after breaking my shoulder several weeks ago, my two large dogs were bored from little activity. I felt a lot better a few days ago, and decided to treat them with a trip to Petsmart. After going inside, I asked for help walking and shopping for them, and Carmen (manager of grooming) was such an angel! She was so much fun, and pushed a cart while walking one of my dogs around the store. We shopped for both cat and dog food, treats, toys, balls, glucosamine cheweys, and even a cute coat for winter! Alex my Maltese and my dog Shepherd have been going to Mandy P since we moved here. The dogs love her and she really cares about the animals she grooms. Alex has come in with everything from epoxy resin to paint and sticky bush, Mandy never complains and just laughs. I am an artist so my dogs frequently get stuff on them. We won't be changing groomers or pet stores any time soon. Everyone is always super sweet to my dogs and cats. read more

BUYER BEWARE! I purchased a Pomeranian puppy from a man named Ray Sunday (8pm) evening that lives in Anthony. His Wife/Girlfriend is a GROOMER AT PETSMART IN OCALA! I've always rescued before and now I fully understand why everyone is so against breeders. By 2 AM Monday morning we were at the emergency vet clinic. This puppy was so anemic and completely stuffed full of hookworms it's blood levels were at %8 when it should have been at %30+! We did everything possible from blood transfusions to anabiotic's and worming medication to save her but unfortunately. I have documentation that states all her medical problems were from pure negligence on the breeders part! She had no chance as today ( her 3rd vet visit in 2 days) her lungs started crackling and she was so severe she couldn't go through her second blood transfusion. I stayed in contact with the Breeder and he said he would refund the cost of the medical expenses and the payment he took for the puppy. Later in the evening I called him back as I was instructed and his wife (petsmart beloved groomer) refused to give us our money back! I was told " take me to court because it will go into collections and we be off my credit report in seven years"!! They even went as far as to make fun of me saying I didn't need the money back that bad since I had "SOO MUCH MONEY TO TRY TO SAVE THE PUPPY TO BEGIN WITH". These are the kinds of "professionals" PetsMart hire to take care of your furbabies. I wouldn't trust them with a pet rock let alone a beloved pet! read more

I just returned from the Ocala grooming salon without my dog's nails trimmed. The email I got said they were resuming walk ins, but, after driving 3o minutes to get there, I was told when I arrived that I would have to wait 1 1/2 hours for a nail trim. Since the online check in does not offer a nail trim option, I could not set up a time. This is the second time I have had major issues getting a 10 minute nail trim so I will be finding somewhere else to take her. Mandee grooms our dog and she has done so now on a few occasions. She does an amazing job on our boy even though sometimes he seems to be a handful to deal with. But I still don't have a reason given to me for this sudden patch of no hair. Got an Rx for antibiotic, shampoo and they "cleaned the area. $100+ later. Hope it works. We recently moved down to The Villages, Florida and our little dog Daisy needed to be groomed. We called all the local mobile groomers everyone told us March. With Daisy hair growing in her eyes we turned to PetSmart we got an appointment the next day. We dropped off a dirty Maltese with to long bangs. We picked her up 3 hours later and poof Daisy was back. One of the best cuts every, and two cute bows in her hair. Made appointment for 4 weeks we will back great job Kate. I typically never have bad experiences here but after this one. I plan on never coming back. I was looking for meal worms for my gecko, my normal pet store doesn't have them & haven't had them for atleast two weeks. I went to three or four other local pet stores before coming to this store. We called ahead and made sure they had meal worms and they said yes. I get to the store and I always check the worms before purchasing them. Every single meal worm & wax worm in that fridge which was too cold, was dead. When brought to the manager attention she said they were just cold. I showed her and asked if they had any more in the back, she checked and they didn't. When trying to later explain to her that they haven't been checked in a while she just shrugged it off and kept interrupting me. She told me she was taking of it now. Those worms have probably been sitting in there dead for a few day or a week. My concern was if I was a customer who didn't know much or I doordashed it. I would be pretty upset, the manager didn't have any customer service skills and was very rude. read more

I had 2 of my dogs groomed at this location for the past 3 years. Now they are not taking both of my dogs because they are saying one of them have "aggression". If they are not fully trained to groom a dog that is not comfortable getting groomed, then they are not qualified in my opinion. Both of my dogs, probably like any other dogs, can be uncomfortable getting groomed. I do not think it is fair for them not to groom by dogs. My dogs are perfectly normal like any other dogs.
