So my mother and I went into the store to look around. We went to a area with Beta fish in little cups and half of them were dead and floating in their cups. After seeing that we went to see the cats for adoption that had been "saved." I was disgusted by what I had seen the cats were in terrible condition one cat had an eye missing, its fur looked mangled like they couldn't even brush it or wash him, there were patches of his skin gone. All the litter box's were absolutely terrible filled with their urine and poop. there enclosures were disgusting old food was everywhere, the cats look so sad and pitiful. I believe the only thing that they "rescued" the animals from was getting ran over or attacked from other animals. I wish that they would close this location down because is it down right disturbing. read more

I was a regular customer. Always understaffed, hard to find an employee to help when needed. When you DO find an employee, they are extremely rude! They have no interest in selling their products. The last time i went, the rude employee of the day literally refused me service after grilling me about the size of my fish tank at home. the "manager" on duty was rude as well, blowing me off and walking away. The next day I get a phone call from the GM who was not helpful at all, only made excuses for his employees. Its clear why your employees suck so bad. Theyre following your example clearly. Caroline Kraus is the best groomer in Panama City! We have been going to her for over 2 years now! She always sends us photos of our fur baby while he is getting groomed. He has separation anxiety and has 2 coats. This is ALOT for a groomer to handle. Yet, she never lets it phase her. We have not let another groomer touch our pups since we started seeing her. I have gone to this petsmart as a last resort on multiple occasions. There is always a line but I get what I need and Im out. Last time i went they would not sell me dog food due to a mistake bansfield apparently made on a medicated dog food card. I offered to show them the prescription on my hills to home app and that was not good enough for them. Its literally the same thing and I could of updated the card the next day also. I am struggling financially and my dog was basically out so I needed the dog food at that moment and it was past hours to have bansfield fix it. They called the cops on me. Moral of the story dont go there for anything because they could care less about customer service. All they had to do was take the app and look. Looking forward to them going out of business. I wasn't looting, stealing or asking for anything but dog food. read more

Took our dog for a 1:00 appointment. They didn't start her til 5:00. She was given no water as she drank like crazy when we got her home. Her fur is choppy looking and there is a cut on her belly. Will not be back for anything. read more

I booked a grooming appointment for my dog for the first time. She has very high anxiety around other animals because she was previously attacked by a dog. So I called prior to the appointment to make sure they would be able to accommodate her and was told it wouldn't be an issue. Noted that information on the appointment notes when booking, called on the way to the appointment and said this again.. I get to the store and there's a dog at the checkout counter of the grooming area which is fine because I can just wait on the bench outside of the salon until they're done. Then they bring out other animals. I ended up waiting right outside the salon for about 15 minutes before I called back in and explained to the girl I'm standing here but can't come in. She said she would let them know so I could bring her in. I watched her hang up the phone and then walk out of the salon to another part of the store. I stand there for another 5-10 minutes and finally a girl comes out to ask if we are there for an appointment. At this point we were almost 30 min over when our appointment was supposed to start and she said she would try to get us in after another dog that just walked in got checked in. I told her we would just leave. I understand my dog is the one with anxiety and it's not their responsibility to necessarily cater to her. However, I take every step to ensure that it won't be an issue before taking her somewhere and after being told multiple times it won't be an issue then I expect that to be the case. I booked an express service so that we could be in and out and not have to wait. I did everything possible on my end but felt the staff was completely dismissive and not in the least bit accommodating or understanding. We go to a vet/groomer monthly (she's 8 now) and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had.. especially as a first time customer. read more

Please, please please please do not take your pets and your dogs to Petsmart for dog training. I personally tried taking my border collie to Petsmart years ago, big mistake. They do not know what they are doing, and a situation and advisement that they gave to someone else regarding another breed of an animal, is borderline animal abuse and the pet owner knows no different and is doing what they are told to do to "Correct the dogs behavior" they spray dogs in the face with water, they mix breeds, they are not qualified to train dogs. I know because I have worked with real dog trainers, and I believe I let my dog get groomed there one time years ago also and that did not go well at all the woman was mean. I'm updating my review. This PetSmart used to be stinky. Maybe I came on an off day, but I returned a few weeks ago and have to say that they seem to have resolved the smell issue. I used the vet service as they have vets around the country lined up through the same system, which is very convenient when traveling. You can also go on Sundays without having to go to an emergency clinic and pay those crazy prices. The vet and assistants were all competent. They tested my dog and gave her a quick diagnosis. Because my dog had gotten sick late the night before, I wasn't able to make an appointment, but even though they were booked all morning, they slid me in as soon as they had an opening, which turned out to be within half an hour. Not surprisingly, the vet is not interested in holistic medicine. She prescribed me antibiotic drugs for my dogs UTI and said that they would take up to two weeks for her to heal. When I inquired about using apple cider vinegar, she strongly discouraged it. I had to promise to bring my dog back if she didn't improve. But giving her the apple cider vinegar and rubbing tea tree oil on her make her infection and inflammation go away within one day. read more

Well, I sure didn't have a good experience. The PetSmart on 23rd in Panama City was understaffed, so when I went in line, ten people were in front of me and ten more we're building behind me. We are staying at the Townplace Suites hotel next to PetSmart as evacuees from Hurricane Irma. We have been in the hotel for a week unable to return to Naples as they are without water, power or gasoline. As we began to run out of dog food we walked next door and were greeted by a friendly staff. We asked for a specific brand of all natural dog food we use for our puppy. The staff was nice enough to refer us to their competitor 2 miles down the street as PetSmart does not carry what we need but the employee knew their competitor sold it. Thats a class act. He could've tried to sell us something we didn't want but he didn't. He told us where to find what we needed and we did. Thanks for being honest and doing the right thing! read more

We just moved from CA to Panama City FL and were looking for a good trainer for our new puppy. We kept hearing amazing things about Andrea so we decided to set up a little meet. She was AMAZING. Our little puppy was wild, disobedient and a handful. He was returned to the shelter twice but we took a chance at saving his life. Andrea was very patient , professional and nurturing to him. She guided us toward success and now our Vader is blooming. He went from basic Puppy classes to advanced and graduated. He learned simple things such as sit/stay/down to more complex things like crawl/back up/stand-stay/come when called and the hardest one stay with distractions. I am so thankful and grateful ... she saved Vaders life and guided us to mold him into a little model doggy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her classes! read more

I want to comment on the dog training at petsmart. I brought my dog who was scared of literally everything to see the dog trainer, Bree and got him in the training classes with her. I can't be more pleased with how good of a job she did with her classes and lessons with the dogs of all sizes and ages. I'm very pleased with how good of a trainer she is. read more

A few weeks ago, I would have given this place 5 stars. The people here are friendly and helpful. I bought a "puppy" package for our new family friend for about $20. One perk of this package is a free vet visit. I took our little buddy in, spoke with the doctor and they informed me that I needed to have a rabies shot administered to our pup within the next week. I agreed to bring him back another day as I wanted to have everything done at the same time (neuter, shots, grooming and chipped) They said no problem and scheduled me for the following Friday. This was on a Thursday. On Tuesday morning, I had a knock at my door. It was animal control. He informed me that I was in violation and that Petsmart had called in and reported that I had cancelled SEVERAL appointments and had yet to have the rabies shot for our pup! Luckily, I had a grace period and took the dog to Parkway Vet Hospital and had his shots and was able to call the officer back and give him the information and avoid a fine and losing my dog. I will NEVER step foot back in this place! I am a good person, an animal lover and I take care of my family (including the pup) I was outraged to have someone come knock on my door and accuse me of being an irresponsible pet owner. Not to mention that the whole ordeal was a HUGE inconvenience and slightly embarrassing. They really messed up big time in this situation, I was ready to sign up for puppy training classes, we discussed buying a reptile of some kind for our son. And I still have a "puppy package" full of coupons I'll never get to use. read more

I like PetSmart. We originally had an issue with our first vet at Banfield. Since then they not only made sure we do not get that vet, they gave us a free visit and have taken care of our dogs since. It's not the cheapest (what vet is though?) but with the Wellness Plan we have had what would have been super expensive vet bills be affordable. read more

We took our dog (Ivy) here this week for a long over due grooming and we couldn't have been more pleased with the results! When my husband dropped her off she was scooped up and hugged by Alex and he knew right away Ivy was going to be well take care of. When we picked Ivy up, she was groomed exactly how we wanted her and her nails were cut and grinded down perfectly and of course, she had a beautiful bow in her ear. This place sucks!!! I dropped off my little maltese poodle to be get the works. When the girl asked how I would like his haircut to be and I told her she then tells me it can't be done. Which is a lie because it's been his haircut from the start! When I picked him up he was so gapped up shaved way to close to the skin! I will never bring my fur baby back here EVER!! I visited the store with two of my friends, their dogs, and our trainer to practice our canine's obedience in a public place with other dogs as distractions. I have Autism along with my two other friends and we are currently working towards getting them certified as service dogs. We had been training for thirty minutes when our trainer was called over by an employee to speak with the manager who was on the phone. He told our trainer "to cease and desist" our activities and leave the store immediately due to a "conflict of interest". I would like to note this was on a Wednesday morning at 9:00am when they had just opened. I saw two other customers at the Banfield desk, a woman who had offered to help us with training, and a mother with her three children who all petted our dogs. Also, our trainer was not promoting his services to the fellow Petsmart customers. His attention was devoted to us and our dogs - not "stealing" potential customers. There was no conflict of interest. I feel as if we simply kicked out of the store for no valid reasons. I already feel uncomfortable in these types of social situations. Needless to say, this interaction had left me feeling incredibly ostracized. read more
