Hit or miss here. Staff is nice. Was a major miss when I bought a couple cichlids. Took em home and one immediately was killed by my crawfish. Took the fish back and they wouldn't give me credit or exchange or even sell me fish anymore. Before purchasing the fish the staff just asked me how big was my tank. Didn't ask if I had other cichlids(which I did) or a crawfish in the tank which I've had done for decades with no issues. But I just went to an Independent fish store called aquarium concepts and they helped me way better and picked out 7 other cichlids for me. read more

Grooming is terrible. The groomer actually cut my dog my poor baby was scared. Hair cut was gapped. Just a horrible experience. I talked with the manager, she saw my dogs cut. I did not have to pay. Thank goodness. I will NEVER RETURN THERE. read more

The online ordering process did not meet expectations. Nothing happened as described. I placed an order on 5/ 10 at 8:49 AM and the payment immediately went pending. I didn't get an email promptly as described. Only after contacting customer service did I get a response at 3:42 and was told I could pick up the order. I didn't care to get out at that time on Friday afternoon. I finally got an order confirmation May 11at 12:45 AM explaining that the order could be picked up the next day because it was made after closing and that I would get an email when it was ready. Again, I placed the order at 8:49 AM the previous morning. I never received the order ready to pick up email. I made the trip to the store anyhow and could not find the designated online pickup desk. I got in line at a cashier that was 5 deep. When I got to the cashier, she confirmed that the cashier line was the place to go for online order pick up. All in all, I could have just went to the store, picked out my product and gone through the cashier line and saved a lot of time. PetSmart's online ordering system is the least efficient I've ever experienced. read more

Jessie is the worst employee you have. She is absolutely rude. The attitude she had whenever she didn't agree with the amount of fish I have in my tank. (3) Like, why is it any of your business? A big, well equipped store. They seemed to be running low of scaly pets when we came in, as well as regular, super market brands of pet food. That said, they had the gamut of less to more expensive brands of food, beds, etc. read more

Salon over charges at this location. Will charge for a pawdicure($25) for a simple nail grind that should be $15, or charge for a furminator for a simple bath. They do this with all of their grooms. Best to go to the Bossier location unless you can afford to pay double what other petsmarts charge. read more

I have some sad news. We are having to put down our 12 year old golden retriever named Annabelle. Annie received all of her training at the PetSmart located in Shreveport on Youree Dr. The main trainer at the store was named Helen. Besides Chris the fish guy, and the lavender haired lady, the people who work here have a general attitude of "GOD... you're so stupid. " I have asked everything from dog product questions to lizard questions to fish questions... it's always the same. And god forbid a price actually ring up right, because no one knows how to fix it. I get my pooch groomed here twice monthly and the ladies are super friendly! The cashier are always smiling and very helpful! I love this store! read more

I recently signed up for a grooming session for my 2.5 year old golden doodle online. I checked the availability on a Sunday evening and saw that there were openings every 30 minutes for the following day, Monday. I chose a 9:30 appointment with what seemed to be the first dog this particular groomer would have. When I dropped him off, she tried to up-sell me. No thank you. Those options were already given to me online. I can't stand the concept of up-selling. Even if I loved my experience, I don't return to places because of that. No dogs were in the grooming area. I heard no barking. There were two ladies looking at the computer on the left side who didn't really acknowledge me. The lady that took my information wasn't very welcoming and no one tried to console my dog who was extremely nervous about the whole situation in general. When I was leaving, I said "How long do you think this will take?" Her response was 3-4 hours. I thought, "Dang. No one is even grooming yet. Surely that's an over ." 4.5 hours later at 2:00, I still hadn't heard from them. I finally called up there and the lady barely spoke to me and handed the phone to the groomer. She said he would be done in 20-30 minutes. Overall, it took 5 hours. Why in the good heavens did someone not start on my dog as soon as he walked in the door? Especially with a pre-booked appointment? Was my groomer late for work? 3 hours late? Ultimately I didn't care who did his cut because it was my first time there. I just imagine he sat in a cage, anxious as anything, uncomfortable for the first 3 hours of his time there. I didn't pay $80 for him to be put through that. Did they let him out? Give him water? I know he didn't have water for those 5 hours because when we arrived home, I timed him, he drank water from his bowl for a solid 70 seconds. He won't be going back here. The groomers weren't warm and welcoming. The description on how I wanted his face cut wasn't even given to the groomer until I got there at 2:30 meaning I had to wait another 15 minutes until she finished. I believe there are much better and more caring places in the Shreveport/Bossier area. read more

Adopted an 8 month old cat there. Got it home and it had a respiratory infection and ear mites. They have an in-store vet, and my cat had been fixed, but they don't inspect these cats for ailments prior to putting them up for adoption? I paid a lot in vet bills I should not have paid. The cat is great, and we love her, but adopter beware. read more

The managers should really make sure the staff is giving people correct information. We recently (72 hours ago) purchased a tiny gold fish who was the only one in the tank and my kid begged for us to take it home. We have a 150 gallon tank and 2 other gold fish who we have had for 5 years with zero problems. We asked the lady if a small tank (3.5 gallons) would be ok for a temp tank for the little guy till he was a tad bigger and be able to survive with my larger 2. She said absolutely should be ok for a couple of months. Got him home set up water tested and good to go acclimated him and here we are 72 hours later with a dead gold fish because come to find out the tank we purchased (our mistake for not doing more research) that the lady helped us pick out did not make enough oxygen in the water for a gold fish so he suffocated. By time we realized what was happening it was to late to save him. We now have very upset small children on our hands. I would just hope maybe there would be a better training process so this isn't something that happens to someone else's child.. read more

I went in with a turtle who had washed up in my yard during a storm. They helped me get everything i needed for him at the cheapest price, and even helped me use my phone to identify his species. Definitely somewhere i will be returning to in the future!! read more

I purchased a container of Superfood Sauce for skin and coat by Only Natural Pet for my cats at this store. My cats are allergic to something in it as they throw up every time they eat it and they can't stand the smell of it either. I called the store and spoke to the manager about exchanging it for a different brand and told him that I bought it several months ago and that I just keep forgetting to bring it in when I go to their store. The manager had the audacity of telling me they could not refund or exchange it because it had been over 60 days. I told the manager that I just spent over $50.00 dollars in their store a few days prior and almost a hundred dollars a few weeks prior to that and they can't exchange a $4.00 bottle of sauce??? I also told him that I can now start purchasing my pet supplies on Chewy.com because they don't deserve my business anymore!!! I went into Petsmart today at around 5:10PM. I was going to get my dog groomed. The moment I walked into the Grooming room, the lady at the front (she had medium length black hair with a streak) rolled her eyes on my arrival. I brushed it off and waited behind a couple who was already there. The lady at the front finally asked me "Can I help you?" I said that I wanted a nail trim and my dog's hair cut. She looked shocked and said that we close in an hour. Well, I came in at 5:10pm and an hour after is about 6:10pm, but they close at 7PM. I was two hours before closing time. Then she asked do you have an appointment. I said No, but for the nail trim you don't need one. She then asked do I have vaccination papers I said yes because I did. All the while she is asking these questions with so much attitude. I asked her if there was an issue. She said we are swamped and usually stop taking customers in at 3pm. I can understand being swamped, but giving me attitude because you don't want to do the job is not understandable. She mentioned something to the woman further back in the grooming section and I just told them I would either come back or go somewhere else. I am inclined to do the latter. I have worked retail before and understand the demands of customer service and am usually more lenient when it comes to this, but when it comes to my fur baby I will not entrust him in the hands of someone who has already shown that they don't want to be bothered with me or him. read more

Good things first- they do a great job grooming my dog. No complaints there. I used Yelps $5 off coupon for checkin. The cashier was lost and had to call the manager to ask what to do with it. He was nice and promptly said they had to accept it. The bad news- I booked online and have done so previously. I just wanted bath, nails, and teeth done. Because I did more last time, the girl in the salon kept trying to upsale me. I said no thanks. Just the top dawg pkg which she said was $24. For $31 I could get the coconut spaw or natural shampoo and conditioner. I smiled and said no thanks. When I came to pick up my dog, SHE was wearing a blue "aren't you handsome" bandana. I'm low maintenance so I didn't mention it. I was given a free mug which I though was odd but I was like whatever let's go check out. The form I was given to take to the cashier rang up as $27.99 for bath with an additional $24 for natural shampoo. WTF. My $25 dog grooming just turned into a rather pricey trip even with a $5 discount. I of course didn't understand why it was so expensive until I got home and looked at the receipt because I had my hands full with my squirming pup. Ugh now I need to find a different groomer. I've had small problems with pet smart salon before but never to this extent. Guess that's what I get for using a chain instead of going local. read more
