Good service, friendly staff but too far to drive for water and quite a bit too pricey for water.

Look elsewhere. These people keep sending me a postcard saying I owe them $85. I've asked twice in writing for an itemized statement and the only response is more postcards. I can only speculate it's for an unannounced visit to my home and calling it a scheduled appointment, which did not exist. Thought they'd be better being an established local company. I was wrong. This company is horrible to work with. Once they get your money they are gone. They sold me a system that was 2/3 smaller then the one I had. When we questioned the size of the unit, the owner guaranteed ON HIS WORD that it would work. Well several months later and over $3000, we now have iron taste in our water that we NEVER had for 6 years. They say the system is working fine and it is in our plumbing. Well sorry, but we never tasted iron before. Their system can be working just fine but it does NOT do the job I paid for it to do. And the owner has never returned any of our calls. HIS WORD IS USELESS! They offered me a refund of $309.75 for a system that costs $3390. And they will take it out. Yea, right. Buyer beware! The paper work says NO refunds on down payments. They require 1/2 down to get started. Now I have to spend another $3000 from another company to get the iron taste out. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. They lie and walk away with your money with no recourse to fight them on it. I WOULD GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE 10 RATING IF I COULD. read more

Tyler stops by frequently to check if we need salt. Since we cannot fill the softener ourselves, Tyler takes care of everything for us. If we run out of salt before the scheduled time, Tyler will come and take care of our needs. Pettyjohn's has been a great service for us since we are elderly and cannot left heavy items. read more

I purchased a home where the previous owners had a water softener installed and was rented from Pettyjohn's. I initially spoke to Cody regarding the unit, cost of renting, etc but had to end the call due to a family emergency. I told Cody I would get back with her to get more information. I called the business on two occasions, left my name & number and received no call back. On the third attempt, I reached Lauren. I told Lauren I had spoken with Cody a week prior, attempted to speak to someone for more information but no-one bothered to return my call. I told Lauren I would be using a different water softening company so they could come to the house to remove their equipment. I told Lauren I would be home on Monday, Sept 16. She stated she had to make a call to ensure Monday would work. Lauren left a vm on my phone confirming they would be at the house at 12:30 to retrieve their equipment. Despite me waiting around the house all afternoon, no one showed up!!. No phone call was received!! I called Monday around 4:45 and Cody answered the phone. When asked why no one bothered to showed up or call, Cody stated, "we didn't have a phone number for you". She stated they called the original home owners (why, I don't know!) and didn't hear from them. Mind you....the house didn't MOVE...it's still at the same address yet no one bothered to drive up and knock on the door AND Lauren left a vm on my phone.
