Our group had an amazing visit and we all agree that St Leonard's is easily our favourite winery in the Rutherglen region. They have a great range of wine to sample and will guide you through each wine with a detailed explanation of the background and flavour of each. There were a very large number of wines to try and also beer and soft drink options for those who may not be into wine. The cheese platters were excellent. We were given advice on good wine pairings and really enjoyed sitting in the garden enjoying a delicious bottle or two with a tasting platter. The scenery at St Leonard's is picturesque, with indoor and outdoor seating available and a real personal touch for tour groups. St Leornards is a must for any tour to the Rutherglen region. It will be the highlight of your trip and a delightful afternoon for all.

Well first thing I spot when I drive into town was Blynzz, a family coffee roasting business that pump out a pretty mean long black. They offer up two single origin choices for your long/short/macchiatos, on my visit they were from Kenya and Peru. There's also a blend for your milk based coffees. There is a breakfast and treat menu for those that would like some food with their hit, but I didn't try this so can't comment. You can pick up a bag of their beans or some monsieur truffle chocolate which looks divine and totally indulgent. An air conditioned oasis in the heart of gold country. Sometimes leaving the city isn't a bad thing.

Please note that there were no signs anywhere indicating this let alone reserved signs on any tables. I left feeling very embarrassed, as if I had just been thrown out. Just a word of advice. Please be pleasant and perhaps place either fully booked out signs on the doors or at least on the tables. Very disappointed!

The Commercial Club offers facilities you expect in the city, but in the comfort of a rural setting, with the slower pace that is inherent herein. The self-serve, all you can eat buffet, at $18 dollars for non-members, $16 for members, offers an impressive array of commendable foods with great value for money. The bar is reasonably priced- a schooner of draught will set you back $4.50. Full TAB facilities, extensive pokies and automated roulette. Big screens and projectors for major sporting events. Gym. Lawn bowls. Off-site 18hole golf course. The jewel of this facility however, is one I have only recently become aware of- the snooker room. Fully equipped room with 8 tables and a great vibe. The most relaxing thing I have done in a while was to spend an evening there after dinner. Worth your time.
