Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium has been serving the public since 1906 and is one of the oldest continually-owned family funeral homes in New Hampshire. We are the largest provider of funeral services in the state, and we operate five full service funeral homes, three crematories, two non-denominational chapels and a cremation society.

Four Generations of Our Family Serving Your FamiliesIn 1989, Arthur "Buddy" Phaneuf became the fourth generation Phaneuf to manage the firm. That same year, parking at the Hanover Street facility was expanded to over triple its original capacity. This year also saw Phaneuf become one of the first funeral homes in the state to be computerized.In 1995, Phaneuf Funeral Homes was granted the right to install the city's first crematorium. Since going on-line in March 1995, Phaneuf crematorium has conducted more cremations than any other funeral home in New Hampshire. Later that same year, Phaneuf became the first funeral home in the area to open up a nondenominational chapel.Since then, Phaneuf Funeral Homes has expanded into a second location in Manchester, and two more funeral homes in Littleton and Boscawen.

Meet the Business Owner: Arthur Buddy P.

Buddy is a 4th generation funeral director and has been running the family funeral business since 1989. Prior to that, he worked in Washington, D.C. as a senior consultant with management consulting firm, Deloitte & Touche. He holds an MBA degree in finance from the George Washington University, a B.S. degree in Operations Research from the UNH and an A.S. degree in Funeral Service from the New England Institute. He is a member of the New Hampshire Funeral Directors Association and is a freelance writer for several funeral service trade magazines. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the VNA of Southern New Hampshire. Buddy is a lifelong parishioner of Ste. Marie Church and has served on several nonprofit Boards throughout the Manchester area. In his spare time, he coaches youth hockey and enjoys skiing, mountain biking, playing hockey and traveling. He lives in Manchester with his wife, Pamela, and three children., Mallory, Jonathan and Griffin.
