So I'm sitting in a Starbucks in Bountiful, UT, getting a few hours of work done from my laptop in between driving from Texas to Alaska. This girl comes in, sits down at my table, and asks if I like to pamper myself. I was like, what? She said, you're 18, right? I said yeah...26. She asked if I lived there. No, I'm from Alaska. She got really huffy and said something like "fine, I guess you don't want this, it's really cool" and thrust a brochure with a 50% off coupon on it on the table, and left with her nose all up in the air. Had been getting eyelashes done for a year elsewhere, my gal had a baby so took time else. My husband bought me a 200 dollars gift card to get them done here at phazes, she lady glued my eye shut , hit me in head with tweezers, glued all the lashes to my EYE LID so when I blinked they'd stab me in the eye and the glue all over eyelid would stab and pull cause nothing was glued on the eye lash!!! Took 2 and a half hours of my time but only spent an hour of it working. The other time she spent not sure what she was doing over my face and leaving the room to get "supplies". Cost 120 and not only painfully and poolry done she missed allllll eyelashes in the inner corner eye and the outter corners and alllll lashes in between I seriously bet only 50 lashes put on both eyes together added up and all of then glued to thebeye lid. I called after leaving to embarrassed to tell the girl Raigan how bad she was. Met the manger who was RUDE belittled me called it " natural " said shed charge 25 to have to girl make them "more full" and it had to be the same girl who glued my eye shut and glued them all to my eyelids in nasty clumps. Finney got manger to look at them an hour on the phone of her being rude as crap. Meet her in person and the other women who used to do then and before the lady opened her mouth the manager with shorter brown hair who I had been talking with oh yeah very natural look everyone s getting them like that. And then lady who used to do them named Nicol said yeah, they're all glued to her eye lid , they look like what they should after having them at three weeks needing a fill. They're all on her skin... So then the manger goes 50 I'll give to your account . though it cost me 120 and pain and glued my eyes shut. So I come in again and every damn person is super snobby the women who helped me with verify ing yeah they're glued to your eye, was rude and the staff just acts towards me like I was the problem and trashy and my money wasn't good there. I've never been so up set going to somewhere and asking them to fix their mistake and for them to tell me no you have our product on you can give your money back though I have to have it all professionly removed by somewhere else cause they don't have time. Said I had the "product" on so they cant reimbursement or give another service , they have back their 45 lashes and lb glue and the bill to get them removed. SooOooooooo rude . they're not professional. And will not fix their mistake and will charge you to get them "fixed" and only by the Peron who messed it up even if underquailfed and glues your eye shut but will charge you double to have someone else do. Oooooooo upset will never go back bought 123 in flipping lip gloss so i dont have to go back ever again do to the gift card non refundable . and only that amount cause I had " their products " on my " eyes " more like in!!! The interior & exterior of the salon itself are modern & comfortable. However, the worst salon experience I've ever had, occurred here! I was loyal to one of the stylists at Phazes. Then, she quit. I still needed to have my hair done, so I made an appointment with a different stylist. When I arrived for my appointment, I had every intention of getting "the usual", a trim. I mentioned to the new girl, that I wished my stick-straight hair had curl in it, a la: SJP. Sigh... New stylist talked me in to getting a loose perm. I should have gone running from the building, right then; and there. But I think the cape I was wearing, to keep the hair off my clothes, was too tight. It must have cut off the oxygen supply to my brain, because I agreed to a perm! $180 later... I left the salon. When I arrived home I discovered that a good 6 inches of my hair had been burned by the chemicals! I contacted the salon, because I wanted my hair fixed! The owner (Kelly) wasn't available. I left my information, but I NEVER got a return call. Ever. Multiple phone calls, and weeks later... I wrote it off as a lost cause. I went to the Olde Mill Salon, and had a cute gal cut off my crispy hair. I was devastated at losing that much length (you know, because some girls really have a deep attachment to their hair). I'll never go back to Phazes. And I'll never have another lapse in judgement; that a perm is the way to go. read more

I booked my first appointment as a new client with Lora. When I arrived at the salon, I found out the salon had changed stylists on me and Naomi was going to be cutting my hair. Bugged me that they had changed it and no one had called to see if that was okay, but went ahead with the change. My hair was absolutely butchered and was only one inch long. I wanted a pixie but this cut was like a man's. I called the owner and she said she wanted me to be happy and was willing to cut and color my hair at no charge. I waited 7 weeks so that my hair could grow out. Went in for my appointment today and they had changed the stylist again back to Naomi. Again with no notice. I will never go when this is evidently their practice. Beware if you are a new client! I will find a salon with more integrity!! read more

Cassie was able to fix a year's worth of bad hair cuts and colors from other salons! She is very friendly but more importantly does a wonderful job. She listens to what you want and is willing to give advice. I live in Ogden but it is well worth the drive! I can't say enough good things about her. read more

Scheduled a coloring to go to blonde here. Was told that it would take 2 sittings. First one not very blonde. Scheduled 2nd one, called to see about moving the time up earlier in day and was told that the beautician was not there anymore. They finally found someone to do it. When my granddaughter got there, they had no idea what they were doing. One person and one young girl were both honna work on her hair. The young one did not understand anything. My granddaughter was so uoset she walked out and was crying. She is not going to be a Guinea pig for them. Senior in high school and school started bect day. I paid 125 for first visit. This was wrong. The business should have called, they do scheduling. I spent a lot of money here.bad read more

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Never going back. Cassie, the manager provided the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I purchased a special for microblading that included the second appointment touch up in the price. Our schedules didn't mesh so I couldn't get in until after the 6 week mark which is usually the touch up appointment, and she charged me full price to finish the job. So really the "special" was bs. I'll make sure friends and family don't go to this salon, and that her bosses are contacted. read more

As a military spouse I tend to have to do things on the fly sometimes. So when my husband said he was going to Hill Air Force base for a week of classes and asked if I would like to join him, I of course jump at the opportunity to get out of the Vegas heat and do some exploring. I decided that I was going to have a mini makeover week! First things first- a massage! In our life of constantly moving and traveling, it can be very hard to find the posse that every girl needs- hairdresser, nail tech, trainer, gym... at each station or place you are at. I have come to rely on Yelp and services like it to help aid me in my decisions. When I looked up Phazes, I was a bit hesitant at first. I by passed it and kept searching for day spas near Hill Air Force Base. After some more searching I just couldn't find anything that was quite what I wanted. I went back to the reviews for Phazes and then checked out the website. They offer a 10% Military discount and an introductory massage for $39. I decided to give it a try. I called to see about scheduling an appt. and they got me in that morning! Just what I needed! I was greeted warmly when I entered the salon and spa. I was asked to fill out 2 short sheets of paperwork. There was a nice little boutique set up near the waiting area to look through while I waited. I had read on the owners blog that 5% of the proceeds from the boutique went to National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in honor of the owners brother, who had passed away several ago. I had also read on the owners blog (which was a link on the company website) that she has struggled with depression. At first, I will admit, I thought this to be a bit unprofessional. As a business owner, I'm not sure I would link my personal blog to my business website. It made me a little hesitant to go to the spa, I'm not sure why. Maybe I was afraid it was going to be dark and people were going to be talking about how sad and awful their lives were. However the more I thought about it, the more I admired the owner for her ability to be so open and transparent. It takes a lot for a people to be able to openly admit life's struggles to close family and friends, let alone your customers and other people you may not even know. Tiffany came out a few minutes late and introduced herself. As she took me back to the room, I noticed that the salon seemed very clean and it was open and bright. Tiffany asked me several questions (almost all I had already answered on the paperwork I was given when I got to the spa) and then left the dark, relaxing room so I could change. The hour massage went quickly (as they always do) but I was exactly what I needed. Nothing fancy by any means, but quite relaxing. I had wished that Tiffany was more calm and collected in her demeanor. At times she seemed a bit rough in the way she spoke. Also, I had hoped she would have spent more time working on the sore spots I had told her about. Overall though the massage, I would say, was nothing fancy but it certainly did the job. It was exactly what I paid for, an introductory massage. And at $39, you can't beat that! When I paid, I was given the special introductory massage price ($39) and also the 10% for military. A lot of places don't so this and I thought it was very nice of them to honor both discounts. Overall, I would go back to Phazes. In fact, I wish I could find a place just like it in Vegas. You feel like you are in an upscale place like you would find in Vegas, but the people and small town life are certainly something to be cherished. If you are in the area, passing through, or newly stationed to Hill Air Force Base, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Thanks Phazes for a wonderful experience! read more

Came in about 2 months ago for a cut and color. I made an appointment the day before for 11am. Was there at 1050 like the lady said to fill out "paperwork". As I walked in the salon looked really nice it had a cute little front desk and waiting area with overpriced stuff but fun to look at. I was told my stylist was running late and to have a seat. I did. I waited 15 minutes and I could hear 2 ladies in the background arguing about my appointment and with the stylist on the phone. I was then told that they booked me the wrong day and time and the stylist was off that day. They gave me this tiny bag with samples in it and made me a new appointment for the next day. I understood,things happen. In I went the next day, cassie was going to be my stylist she was nicw came over and said she was running behind and it'd be 45 min. And asked if I wanted to come back the next day. I was over it by now. Thinking back I should have left and never came back but I told her this would be the third time I've had to come back. She said she would hurry. There were 2 other stylist standing around why I had to be with Cassie I had no idea. I wouldve taken anyone. So I waited 45 min. Now it was my turn and cassie got the color ready and whatever. She started right away and started complaining about being hungry and I felt bad like I was interrupting her. I kept apologizing. She was rushing through my hair and inbetween she was texting her bf and complaining about him to me. I was there probably 2 hours which I didn't need to be but she was constantly on her phone or talking to other people. When she was done,my hair looked the same just cut. I wanted a new summer look. I spent $115 to get a haircut. I got home and started playing with my hair to really see it. My husband said what are the lines in your hair? I looked and Cassie being so rushed and fighting with her boyfriend wasn't paying attention and I know had lines where the foil was in my hair. Ridiculous! If you are looking for professionalism DO NOT GO HERE. I was recommended to old mill salon by a friend and I will try that next time. The parking lot is always full which is a good sign. Dropped in last week. Very impressed with the salon. As a guy, it was great to see friendly people that cared about my comfort level while I was there with girls in curlers and make-up consultations. I just wanted a man's haircut and I felt at home there. They really seemed to listen and cared about my opinions. I'd recommend it to the men just as much as the women. Definitely a fan. I made an appointment for a hair cut. Came on time. Half hour later left due to not getting called back. Other clients came in and got taken back just not me. I heard lots of gossip and knew the girl was probably on her phone or Facebook. Front staff was not friendly and I got no mention of her finishing up another client. If I could give zero stars I would. My experience was terrible here. My dad was treating me, my mom, and my sister to a mani pedi weekend and we decided to go with phazes as the place to do it. We went in excited to be pampered and at first it was alright; they offered us drinks and my mom and sister started off with the pedicures and I started with my fill and recolor on my acrylic nails. We left the place and an hour or so later my mom and sister were still waiting for their nails to dry and ended up having to wipe the polish off completely because they used old polish that just dried sticky and my nails just looked ridiculous. So we called and told them the story and the manager told us to come back to have them fixed. Our second time around the experience was worse than before. They were completely rude to us the entire time and when I was in the middle of telling the nail lady what I wanted she says "well you're pretty limited since you're not paying for it this time and I have another appointment in 30 minutes." Totally terrible experience and my nails still did not look fabulous when I came out the second time. They're also already chipping and I got them fixed just yesterday. Not to mention the three times the lady cut my fingers with her nail files or the outrageous prices, we paid $160 for this terrible experience. If you're looking for a place to be pampered and treated nicely and come out looking great phazes is not the place to go. read more

Phazes Salon & Day Spa - Chips - Skin Care Near Me - Layton, Utah

I had the worst haircut of my life with Lora at Phazes salon in Layton, UT. I told her I was growing out my hair and just wanted to add some layers so it wasn't so bottom heavy. Lora ending up cutting the top half of my hair at eye level and left the bottom half of my hair right above my shoulders. It looked like a mullet. The receptionist told me Lora was their most experienced stylist, but clearly not. This haircut would not have looked good on anyone. I went home and cried. I had to go to another stylist at a different salon to fix it. The stylist that fixed my hair said she thought I was exaggerating about it looking like a mullet until she saw it. She also told me it looked like Lora pulled the top half of my hair forward and cut it to the same length as my side swept bangs on accident. The "layers" were not even blended, it was just a jagged disconnect of short hair at my eyes that looked like a bowl cut on top and the long hair all one length right above my shoulders. It is going to take me 6 months to just grow my hair back to where it was before Lora did this to me. I don't understand what she was even thinking or trying to achieve by cutting my hair in that way. The stylist that fixed my hair had to cut it up to my chin to blend it and fix it. I've had bad haircuts before, but never any so bad that I cried. I cannot say enough bad things about this salon and stylist. I could even tell from the owner's face and the receptionist's face that I looked terrible when I left. read more
