Incredibly horrible experience! Used them years ago & they were great! This time around, my experience was a total nightmare. Had to hire another company to fix their mistakes, that by the way, the owner, blamed on us. We are NOT professional fence people, we are consumers. We called to schedule an estimate 1 month ago. Our realtor recommended this business. We were told our time slot was 2pm. We even called day before (could not get anyone on the phone) and day of to confirm appointment. I got there at 2pm, at about 2:20pm, they still weren't there and I called the office. A woman answered and said he got delayed and was on his way. I said how long, she said 15 minutes. I waited an additional 30 minutes and then left. A little after 3pm a man called me and I frustratingly said I waited for you for 45 minutes. He had an attitude and said I don't know what you are talking about my time slot was 2-2:30pm, but either way it was 3pm at this point. He basically hung up on me. I called back a few minutes later and asked if he worked there or was he the owner and he said the owner. I said I cannot believe this is how you talk to your customers, he aggressively replied that I am not his customer and why the hell would he want to do business with someone like me! To say I was appalled would be an understatement. The first issue is all they had to do is call and say he was running late and the second thing is say you are sorry for being so late. This arrogant (I don't need your business) man was beyond disrespectful. I know business is booming right now, but it won't always be and your reputation means everything. Treat your "potential" customers with a little decency. read more

This week I was discussing fencing options with a representative from Phencemen. During the conversation the representative felt comfortable using the N word when referring to other contractors and the work they do. I was extremely offended. I was able to get in touch with the owner Sue, who I had to hunt down through Facebook because she didn't return my call. In her response she just really tried to deflect the situation. She attempted to justify her employee's actions by saying that she was going through a tough time and maybe she wasn't thinking straight! She also said, she was fairly new and wasn't familiar with the proper fence lingo. I feel they didn't take proper measures to discipline this employee, and I feel they were defending her actions. Unfortunately with that attitude I believe they are condoning her behavior. This is not an acceptable way to do business! read more

Horrendous customer service! Dee in the office treated me like a child that was being reprimanded, instead of a valued customer. Then I asked to speak to the owner, Phil and he went on a tirade! The work was incomplete , so I called them on that day - and did not hear back from them until I called them again. and that is when this occurred.My neighbor used then - they did not come back to fix some issues. My other neighbor got a quote from them and now will not use them - I try to support local businesses. Please do yourself a favor and use another company. We don't need to hand money out and get yelled out at this same time! read more

We had our old dilapidated wooden fence replaced with a two tone vinyl fence. It makes our property come into the new millennium. They came out on time for an estimate, started installation exactly within the time frame given and completed exactly when stated it would be. They were very thorough and the work was done completely to my liking (I'm very picky). They even straightened my brick borders for my flower beds the knocked over. My fiance and I received quotes from 7 local fence companies to install 425 feet of fence throughout our Galloway property. Phil from Phencemen stood out from the competition during his initial site visit. He was on time, incredibly knowledgeable, very approachable, and had several great ideas for the installation which had not yet considered. We really liked Phil's ideas and ended up hiring them to complete the job. Phil got us to reconsider our initial desire for a cedar fence, by showing us that a two-toned vinyl fence would both hold up longer and match the coloring of the exterior of the our house, for only a minor increase in cost. He also convinced us that installing a black-on-black chain link fence in the back yard would offer great views of the woods behind our property and that it would nearly disappear to the eye when looking out our back yard. Their price was very reasonable and in-line with the competition. In the end, what sold us was his care and the overall feeling of confidence that he left us with after meeting with him. After the materials came in, his wife Sue got us on the schedule very quickly and their crew came out to do the install. The crew was very polite, tidy, and professional. It took three days for them to tear out the existing fence and install the new fence. They worked very efficiently and with minimal disruption to my existing property and garden areas. Phil's recommendations were spot on: the two-tone vinyl looks great against our siding and the chain link blends away into the vegetation behind our property. We are both incredibly happy with our decision to use Phencemen and would happily recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a high quality fence installed by a group of skilled professionals at a fair price. One last thing: we had a large party at the house the week after the fence was installed and received many compliments on the fence. Again - we couldn't be happier. read more

We were so pleased with our initial interactions with Phil and the people at Phencemen that not only did my mother decide upon them to do the railings for the front and back stairs outside of their home, I also had them complete our fence at our house by installing gates to create a secure barrier for the patio & pool. We contacted Phencemen for a quote to install a new fence and repair a section that was damaged. They went to the site the next day (as Promised) provided a quote by the end of that day. They were very reasonable and completed work within the timeframe given (I think it was actually early). We found another section that was damaged by a tree which we asked that they repair. I recently had a new white vinyl fence installed from phencemen. The receptionist lady, i apologize i forget her name, is super friendly and happy when she answers and talks to you on the phone. I like that, happy people make others happy! Anyways, so I originally got 3 quotes and since they were all around the same price I went with phencemen because I really felt the individual that came out to give the quote was professional and friendly and of course the receptionist was a pleasure to deal with. So I placed my order, handed over my deposit (which was half the price of the total project) and signed the contract. The contract stated it would take 4-6 weeks to complete, not a huge deal. All in all it actually took close to 8 weeks because the fence company the brand of fence I got was back ordered I believe the reason was. I was actually kind of annoyed by this, since I had a new puppy I wanted to let run around free of a leash. (But not phencemens fault). So fast forward phencemen finally gets my order in and my fence is scheduled to be installed. The gentleman arrived that morning and got right to work, there were 3 guys (maybe a 4th at times) working on the project, all who were pleasant to be chat with and seemed to work well together. The install went smoothly took 2 1/2 days (longer then originally thought but the ground around my house was not cooperating). The fence came out great, it's straight and seems to be well secured in the ground. (Oh and the one guy that was installing the fence asked if I wanted it flush or close to the ground as possible..since I have dogs..I thought that was considerate. Although I thought thats how fences were suppose to be ). So the fence is finished and I was originally suppose to have lattice in the front to give it that nicer look, that's not what I ended up with. I called and spoke to the receptionist before I sent my final payment and they gave me an option of having the extra money I owed for the lattice deducted from the payment or they would come out and replace the front fence with lattice. Again super friendly and easy to talk too, I opted for leaving the fence as is because it honestly looks just fine without it. So overall I would definitely recommend phencemen! read more
