I have been past the shop several times in the past few weeks, and the shutters have been down every time. Is he still trading? Can't find any activity on the net. read more

They have a great selection covering board games, RPGs (including some wonderful indie titles as well as a lot of D&D), tactics games, and hobby supplies. I had a lovely conversation with Winter while I killed time before a show. I own a game store in the US and they gave me lots of ideas for new things to try! There was a great mix of popular titles and more niche ones, all at reasonable prices.

I have been going to this shop since I was a small child yet every time I go I still find something…read moreabout it that I love. It's a dinky little shop with a bell that rings when a customer arrives. It is one of the smallest shops in the city yet has so much stuff for sale. As the name suggests it sells little gifts, wrapping paper, cards and luxury stationary. It also has some more random things too like mugs, jewellery and joke-shop style gags. It sounds like a bit of a mix-mash of things but if you're in the area it's worth a trip to pick up some lovely cards and gift bags. It always smells like perfume or incense and the ladies working there are very sweet, all older women who are really helpful and pleasant. It's always on my list of places to go on the run up to Christmas and never has the festive queues or elbowing that you get in department stores this time of year.
From the owner: We specialise in niche and quailty greeting cards and gifts, including toiletries (Crabtree &…read moreEvelyn), Jewellery, Steiff Jellycat and Ty Plush, chinaware (Dunoon and others), glassware (LSA), candles (Yankee and others), partyware, assortment of giftwrapping, helium and latex baloons, books and stationary, children's toys and many other contemporary, conventional and quirky gifts.

I just love coming here. It's not particularly well signposted, and isn't on a street where you'd…read moreexpect to come across it. All that does is make it all the more special when you arrive. The store is an Aladdin's cave of treasures. This isn't those Warhammer type games, no Orcs and Goblins will be found here. Instead, these are the proper toy soldiers from a vast array of eras. They are set up in displays, although the vast majority are for sale. The only downside is that it gets a bit warm in here during the summer, but frankly the awesomeness of it all is well worth it. If you're in the Buckingham Palace area with your kids, then I worth popping in just for a look around - at speed you could do it in two minutes, but I'm pretty sure you'll want to stay longer.

You can find anything for aspiring artists or knitters alike and still more to see. I might be overselling it but I think it's a great hobby shop that's around the corner.
If you're anything like me, you cannot be bothered with stopping by endless small specialty shops…read morethat never have what you're looking for... and if you're American, you're probably thinking "GEEZ why isn't there a Michaels????" In my search for halloween costume creations, I decided to just bring out the big guns and find the largest crafty store possible, and this is what I came up with. It's a haul from central, but they had everything I was looking for (except for the size in one thing), but I got all my crafting done in one place and that was well worth the trip. My fellow yelper wasn't so lucky, as she seems to be looking for some items that just don't prevail anywhere in the UK, but if you need a crafting mecca, I suggest you pick up a crossword puzzle and take the tube ride out. It's just a short 5-10 min walk from the tube station too!
