Almost like a warm greeting from your neighbor, Ruty is the real estate agent that changed my mind about real estate agents. It was myself and my partner's first time legitimately going to a full day of open houses, pre-approval in tow. We had gone into over 6 houses that day and the biggest take-away from the day was connecting with Ruty. When she immediately flowed us through the house she was showing that day she effortlessly got us talking about what my partner and I wanted from our first home. Being that we were both residing in San Francisco we had much to learn, and Ruty served as our intrepid tutor. "When you think Real Estate, Think Ruty, Ruty, Ruty!" reads her contact card. From initial toggling of expectations based on our budget and needs, to leading me through a few "diamonds-in-the-roughs," and pointing out what can be fixed to meet some of my delusions. There were many barriers she had to push through in getting my hard head to open up to new potentials, all while she kept my partner's needs in mind and let me prattle on nervously, ad nauseam, about my family for every house tour we met at (I think 14 in all). We had no timeline, but Ruty was in no rush with us, she was flexible with our schedules-went along with our ebb and flow with conflicting work schedules and kiddo wrangling. In the end we looked, learned and finally put in a bid after only 6ish weeks. She guided us through closing, taking in many a panicked call seeking edification on obnoxious loan jargon. We closed on a "diamond-in-the-rough" with a super rare accepted underbid for the Bay Area market. My partner and I have a 3-ring binder to hold our housing paperwork and plans.
