I was recommended this place by Barkers of Haslemere as a good place to get a towbar fitted for the new car; it being a different construction at the back, we had no choice but to replace our strap on Thule for the bikes with something much sturdier We talked to them & emailed a few times; and then we looked at the Thule website and corresponded with their customer services people before selecting a couple that looked right for our needs In the end we went to see Taylors so they could demonstrate the 2 tow bars we were interested in...they have most models on site, so that is immensely helpful If you've never had one of these fitted, I can totally recommend having the demo first before you buy...we ended up taking the cheaper version which they recommended; they could easily have convinced us to pay more for the pricier one, but they explained why we only needed this particular model....makes a pleasant change! The day came for the fitting...again, they went through the whole thing...how to put it on, how to put on / take off the bikes, how to take the platform off...they recommended we should video this...which I did and boy, was that a good idea as it turned out! Well worth it; great service; really customer orientated But there's more... On our first trip to France, we followed the video to the letter...all went well...we dismantled everything and put it all away The day came for putting it all back on the car - we watched the video again and off we went...uh, no...we could not even get the tow bar on the vehicle, never mind the platform & bikes In desperation, I rang Taylors at 7:30 am UK time...amazingly they answered, and after a brief explanation as to where we had got to in the process, sorted us out in about 30 seconds ("turn the bar on its side" - something we had seen on demo 1 but forgotten and it wasn't on the video) We have now used it 7 or 8 times at least and no problems since Fully recommended read more
