I enjoy shooting at this indoor range. Parking is hard to find. They have guns and gun stuff for sale. They provide eyes and ears. Staff upstairs in the shooting area are very helpful. When I first started shooting there they gave me some good tips and I always see them helping others perfect their aim. We spend about an hour or so on a weekend, shoot a couple boxes of range ammo then go get tacos from south Philly barbacoa on the corner. 4 stars cuz u need to make an appointment also not many people allowed in the store at once so you could be waiting outside for a while before u get in. Safety First!!!

Today was a milestone for me because I did something I've had on the checklist for many years. I shot a gun (safely and legally here, of course). And yes, I realize that shooting is not for everyone, and if that someone is you, then you don't have to read my review. But thanks for stopping by Yelp anyway :) But if you're even a little bit curious about going to a shooting range, or you're a seasoned pro, I highly recommend you check out the Philadelphia Archery & Gun Club. I went with a friend of mine who is a gun owner and has been there before and another friend who, like me, was a first timer. From the moment we walked in the door the staff was friendly and professional. Admittedly, I was a little weirded out by all the gun stuff, but hey, I WAS in a shooting range, so I knew I'd be seeing firearms. My friend and I signed a waver, we all three showed our licences, and then went upstairs to the range. It is a very safe facility and you have to go through multiple doors to end up in the shooting range itself. Once upstairs, we were given earphones, safety glasses, a target and oh, yeah, bullets. Gulp. This was the real deal. I was actually going to shoot a gun. I think I got a little sweaty and my industrial goggles actually fogged up. We went through another 2 sets of doors and then there we were, gun, bullets and all. After a lesson on loading it and proper etiquette (bottom line - don't point it at people and don't be a spazz) I stepped up to give it a try. First things first - if you've never shot a gun or heard one before (like me) it's extremely surprising how damn loud it is (ohh, THAT'S why you wear earphones). And the kickback on the gun (I was shooting a Glock) was unexpected, too. Oh yeah, be prepared for shells to fly, which takes a little getting used to. The first shot was really, really scary. The second, a little less so. And by the third, well, I was totally into it. I emptied one clip and my friend took her turn (hopefully she will Yelp about it, too). And then I had one last try before I had to get back to my regularly scheduled life. My grand finale involved emptying a round into the target of a 70's dude who looked a little like Ron Jeramy. It was crazily satisfying and I left feeling very empowered. And, believe it or not, I was actually pretty good at it. There was an instructor (Bobby) who was on hand to answer our questions and show us proper positioning so we didn't slice our thumbs off. And the fee that we paid when we left was incredibly reasonable for 20 minutes of feeling like a badass. I'm never going to own a gun and I'm not interested in ever shooting anything outside the walls of a shooting range. But I am almost certain that I'll be back, because this was an experience unlike anything else I've ever done before.

0 stars, if I could. I had to calm down and pray on this review for months, before I wrote it! In…read moresummary; choosing Monica to design my friend's bridesmaid and flower girl dresses was the worst decision ever made. I would highly discourage anyone from commissioning her for ANY work. Our bride searched for months, and was happy to have found a local dressmaker of color who was perceived to promote beautiful quality work in advertisements, and could customize each dress to each person's needs. I live on the other side of the country and paid up for TWO dresses (mine/flower girl) four months in advance. Monica went from professional to non-responsive, after I paid in full. I showed up four and a half months after paying to come to a "final fitting," and was met with the skeleton of the "lining" of my dress. (She also apparently scheduled multiple group fittings, where folks showed up and she could not produce work.) I was not able to actually walk out of the store with my dress, until THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING, and it was amateur; cheap thread that was a completely different color than the dress (and made it look dirty), warped lines and uneven stitching all over the dress! The flower girl dress looked like a "1st sewing class" project. (Poor baby was embarrassed to wear it down the aisle!) Monica took liberties on all the dresses, and was mad when the bride gave feedback about not wanting them. She mixed up the tops and bottoms of the dresses (plus-size girls with size 2 girls.... HOW?!) and one girl had to walk around with a robe to avoid being overexposed (her nipple was literally hanging out). The worst part, is the day of the wedding; we all were busy trying to rig our dresses to fit (sewing girls into the dress, pinning lines, fixing cheap zippers that kept getting caught in the excesses fabric she didn't cut out of the dresses) and were able to provide NONE of the quality attention the bride deserved, when dressing for her wedding. This also made us late for the ceremony! Ironically, our hairdresser for the event heard about what happened, and realized Monica is the SAME designer who butchered a leather jacket they took to her to customize, and refused to refund them, as she refused to do with all of us! Also confirmed that most of the dresses she posts and advertises, are not her work. We got scammed! I'm hoping folks read this and make a better decision than we did. I do wish Monica well, and invite her to consider ridding herself of the high South Street rent, overbooking commissions, and investing instead on improving her craft and ability to do what she says she "knows how" to do. Anything else is fraud and not reflective of a person of integrity. Do better!

I'm so sad. I've had 6 cuts here in the past 2 years. 4 of them were great and one of them was okay…read moreexcept the teachers never came to check me after and I noticed the cut was a bit off. However, this time I went was so horrible. The stylist was timid, and you could tell she was unprepared. She took 25 minutes to wash my hair and it took 45 minutes before she even began cutting. When she was "done" with the initial cut and went to get the teacher the one side was an inch and a half longer than the other. The teacher almost said I was good to go until I said something, and she then fixed it. However, my hair was now 2 inches shorter than originally planned. After that she went to frame my face. The one side was okay because the teacher guided her but the other side, she did a straight blunt cut of my hair from ear to face of another 2 inches. There was no framing just 2 inches gone from a part of my hair. Again, the teacher was going to leave but I mentioned the one side and she tried to fix it but couldn't/didn't. I now have a bad haircut without anything I can do but either cut it shorter or wait for it to grow, and cutting my whole hair means cutting another 2 inches (I asked for 1.5/2 inches total and that would have resulted in 6 inches off). This was also 2 hours, and I didn't even get my hair blow dried yet. This student should not have been allowed to work on humans yet. It was obvious she was not confident to work on my hair and obvious she didn't have the skills to work on a real person. I'm upset the school even let her work on my hair and that a teacher didn't take over as soon as they realized the cut was uneven from the beginning.

After visiting her website, I found it to be well-organized and easy to navigate. I chose the 30-minute spiritual guidance session ($130), and I appreciated that I was able to book a same-day appointment--it was exactly what I needed during such an anxious time. Within a few hours of booking, I received confirmation emails along with the Zoom link, which made the process smooth and reassuring. According to her website, the 30-minute session allows for 5-8 questions, so I took advantage of that by preparing my questions ahead of time since this was my very first spiritual reading. During the session, I asked about my love life as well as some questions regarding relatives who have passed. At times, I provided some clarification to help guide the reading. Later that night, after the session, I received a phone call from my stepdad that ended up reassuring me about my love life in a way that felt very similar to what Angela had shared during the reading, which I found interesting. Angela herself was beautiful, kind, and had a very calming and joyful presence throughout the session. While a few parts of the reading left me questioning, much of what she shared felt accurate--especially regarding situations I'm currently going through and details about my family members. Overall, it was a comforting experience during a time when I truly needed peace and direction. If things truly fall into place in my love life, I'll absolutely be back to update this to a 5 star review.
