The match from a portion of the bar.

Stunningly drab and Very easy to miss from the outside and yet centrally located in small Wicklow town but once you get in this place is deceivingly large and very well ordained. Separated by both bar and restaurant which is referred to as "the dairy" the service is spectacular and the food offerings plentiful. There are televisions should sport interest you and opportunities for both quiet and boisterousness. Tucked away at the point of a triangle in town, you really should not miss the opportunity should you be so inclined to have a quick bite or beverage. Children are invited but do not predominate. You will be more than welcome and can then move along to enjoy views of the Irish Sea elsewhere.

My family and I just ate at the Ashford House...en route back to Dublin…read more The old fashioneds were very good and Viktor, the bartender working, made sure to ask if we liked them knowing we were from the States. We had to try the Margherita pizza (bc that's just what we do) and it did not disappoint! Lorenzo, from Rome, did a great job. The crust was clearly wood fired and the sauce to cheese ratio was spot on. We had the fish and chips, the steak sandwich and the tikka masala curry. I had been trying to find a chance all week to grab some fish and chips and was unable to. I'm glad I had to wait because the Ashford House had the crispiest yet lightest fish and chips! The steak sandwich was ordered medium rare...Americans remember? It was cooked perfectly which was an amazing surprise. My brother's tikka masala was completely gone...meaning it was delicious. The food was presented gorgeously as well. The restaurant itself was beautifully appointed and I'm saying that as an interior designer! The bathrooms were updated and super clean. The atmosphere was really nice with just the right amount of lighting, a beautiful bar and very comfortable furniture. Our service was delightful and our server was very down to earth, easy to talk to and was able to make recommendations. We will definitely be back! Thank you Ashford House.

After watching the Irish Wolfhounds game in the front bar with som lovely Irish IPA, we moved to…read morethe back restaurant, The Weir, for dinner. We all had steaks, fillet, sirloin and ribeye. The meat was delicious, I had a rare fillet which was well cooked and full of flavour. A good bottle if Gigondas complemented the steaks very well, and well priced. Very pleasant evening.
