This place is amazing! We stayed one night (me, my toddler, and my parents) and ate dinner and breakfast here. The whole restaurant and bar is beautiful with wood and leather decor, very warm and charming. Our food was, on the whole, delicious. We were lucky to sit both times at a corner booth with spectacular views of the river. Service was a bit slow, but that didn't bother us. I asked for my toddler's dinner first and they brought it within minutes. The rooms were also great. Not fancy, per se, but charming and cozy. The in-room radiators are adjustable and worked great. They had a cot (crib) set up for us in the room when we arrived. Both rooms overlooked the quaint street. It is a bit noisy until the bar closes at midnight, but it's a tavern after all. It really didn't bother us and everyone (toddler included) slept great. I'm so glad we weren't dissuaded by the other reviews for this place. We really loved our stay here! My parents are still raving about it. I would recommend it to anyone. read more

Enjoyed an overnight in Wicklow and stayed at the Bridge Tavern Inn and dined at the Bridge Tavern. We sat on the restaurant side and enjoyed a very nice meal of Fresh Fish-Hake. My husband enjoyed Fish and Chips. Both very good meals. We wrapped up the dinner with a delicious brownie sundae which was topped with chocolate "pop rocks" a fun twist for the dessert. Sunday the 3rd July was a real treat for our family. We arrived into a newly reopened Bridge Tavern and were instantly wow'd. The place had a great feel which we all agreed was down to the superb fit out - the very high standard if finish and decor. Two fantastic pints, a couple of glasses of wine and some soft drinks were ordered. Good service, no fuss - kids happy. Thankfully the restaurant was in full swing - only open three days! And as the kids were hungry - we felt like a small bite too, perhaps a starter. No problem. Step this way. Seated in the restaurant was another treat with superb furniture and view over the river and harbour at Wicklow. Again service was excellent and the food was spot on. Pasta and chicken goujons for the kids. Spicy chicken wings as good as any I've had recently. Ahem, sorry Elephant and Castle! All in all I would highly recommend the Bridge Tavern for families local or blow-ins like us. read more

Extremely nice Hotel and pub. Beautiful views overlooking the bridge and flowing river. Customer service is spot on and excellent pints. Great place to visit of you're in the area to have a bite and a few pints. read more

Wednesday, September 9. 2015: On the recommendation of our hotel (The Grand) we visited the Bridge Tavern. We were very disappointing with this eatery/bar. Service was non existent, tables were dirty. Our waitress,when she arrived, was as dirty as our table. The shirt and pants she wore looked like oil rags, filthy. We got chowder and fish 'n' chips, which were surprisingly good. No fault there. Next time we're in Wicklow; we'll this place a miss. read more

I am saddened to report that I came here for a celebratory drink with my family at the end of a vacation. I ordered a Guinness and the waitress poured a different drink. When I nicely told the waitress she poured the wrong drink she got angry and insisted that someone with me had made the drink order. There wasn't an attempt to make it right but confrontation from the bartender. A different bartender took our next drink order and it was a very good Guinness. Overall this was an unfortunate way to end an otherwise fabulous trip to Ireland. read more

In my opinion, probably the 2nd best bar in Wicklow Town (the 1st is just up the hill a little). Staff are nice, food is good, the bar, lounge and restaurant are all great areas. Best smoking area/beer garden in the town. There are only two issues: There's live music every night but they have to play indoors which makes it a little too loud for my taste. And two, the manager/owner is a bit of a prat. Yes, I'd recommend (if Phil's is closed). read more

The Bridge Tavern knocked the food out of the park, but the wait staff left us stranded on first. We were seated at a table for two next to the fireplace on the river side. Kind of hidden from our waitress. She came and took our drink orders and returned to take our dinner orders and that was the last we saw of her. When the food was delivered ( reasonable amount of time) our Guinness pints were about empty, the waiter serving the food didn't ask if we would like another, or water, or wine or anything. Expecting the waitress would be back we went ahead and began eating our meals hoping to refresh our beverages and I wanted to request ketchup for my fries. We finished our meals, with the exception of the fries (was still hoping for ketchup) and still no waitress and now we did need something to drink. I hesitantly waved down the adjoining waitress and apologized for inconveniencing her, but would she mind bringing us some water and ketchup. She politely said OK and came back 10 minutes later with the ketchup and no water, asking for water again she said OK and brought it 5 minutes later, setting it firmly down and not saying a word. We hoped our waitress would return as we really liked the look of the berry sunday and wanted to order one. Nearly 30 minutes passed and neither waitress came by, we flagged down a bus boy for our ticket, paid and left. What would have been the finest of our 9 day vacation dining experience was dashed by absolutely inexcusable service on the part of the wait staff. Your customers deserve better, I hope our experience was an exception. read more

A group of us were staying in the b&b and were treated terrible. No breakfast, rude management and the rooms were poor. When we complained we received smart comments. We will never drink or stay there ever again. read more

I recently, about a week ago had the misfortune to stay at the Bridge Tavern in Wicklow town. On arrival we were left standing at the bar for over 5 minutes and eventually they gave us our key. We were then taken up to our room where the communal areas were filthy and in need of a good clean. The corridors were absolutely freezing. We were taken to our room which was as cold as the corridors as the heat had not been switched on even though we had booked about a month in advance. There was a gap between the floor and the door that a small cat could have got under. Another couple from our family was also staying there on the same night and the radiator in their room was broken and they did not even have towels in their room. The rooms were small and in no way looked as if they had been recently refurbished, maybe they had been painted but that was all it looked like. Luckily we were only there to sleep as there was no way you would want to stay in those rooms for any longer than you needed to. It cost €80 for a double room and they did serve breakfast. There website is very misleading as to the standard of accommodation, certainly the accommodation, well the 2 rooms I saw looked nothing like that on the web.I would have expected a lot more from the accommodation for this price. The breakfast served was lovely and could have no complaints about the food as far as breakfast is concerned. The bar area did look nice, the staff were OK, couldn't say anything positive or negative about them. The guy who served breakfast was nice and friendly and helpful, over all I could not recommend the Bridge Tavern to stay in. read more
