They have good shoes and the prices are standard retail, but the greed and pushiness of the sales people has stopped me from wanting to spend too much time there. They obviously work for commissions. Every time I have come on, I feel like they are sharks around me. I have overheard this conversation between them in front of me "just because you say hi when they walk in does not make them yours!" and if someone helped you, they then surround you at the checkout to make sure you give their name. They need to leave shoppers alone, hide their greed, and focus more on teamwork. read more

Incredible, quick, kind customer service. I bought a pair of Danskos here that began to fall apart after a very short period of time. Without any question at all the woman replaced them and gave me tips on how to keep the new pair in tip top shape. I wouldn't recommend any other area shoe store over Phillip's in South Windermere. read more

Went in there again today (enough time had passed to make me forget). As soon as I'm in the door, the attack begins -- the sales people might be smiling, but the desperation is palpable. Excellent customer service, staff knows their products well. I walked in feeling overwhelmed. I knew I needed shoes that would allow me to be on my feet 14 hrs a day without killing me. Working as much as I have been, I had been putting off shoe shopping for weeks and decided to buy a couple of recommended brands (Nike air, new balance) online. That was a FAIL. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by attentive staff. I explained what I needed, she asked if I was open to try brands I might not recognize or styles other than sneakers... and off we went. It was a team effort between 3 staff members and in less than 30 min. I had 2 pair picked out and one pair on order (the color I wanted was not in stock). Easy. I left not just relieved but excited. I will always be coming back here. This visit was one more reminder on why we should support our local small businesses. Well worth the trip to the other side of town. Cappy's review has it right on. This store has some sharks that seem to jump on you at first glance. I have developed a good relationship with Michael but getting past a particular lady is tough. I just have to leave for another day if Michael is not working. read more

Their selection is really great, but I have stopped shopping there because they are so pushy. Last time I went there, I asked the lady right away to please let me browse and if I needed assistance, I would come get her. She still refused to leave my side. I left the store, went to Dicks Sporting Goods, and bought a pair of running shoes. They were priced exactly the same $149 at both stores, but at Dick's, they did not hover once they asked if I needed assistance. The lady at Phillips kept trying to tell me how good the shoes "looked" and I was going for ones that fit. I know a lot of people that have stopped shopping their because of how pushy they are. The sales gal at Phillips tried to tell me a shoe fit when it was way too small. She told me it would "stretch". I just needed a wider shoe and I had asked if she would just call me when they got my size in a wide, but she insisted it would stretch. Really, this is how you treat people these days???? If you are in the market for good running shoes or walking shoes, try The Foot Store in Mt. Pleasant. People are much more educated, not pushy at all and you will get a great fitting shoe that will fit your needs. read more

I would've given them 5 stars, but some days the service is lacking for such high price inventory. I find it odd that there are usually a ton of employees, but they rarely come help. I did recently have a great experience with one of their employees which revives my hope in their service read more

i bought a pair of danskos from the king street store back in february and the strap broke recently. i took them to a shoe repair store where the cobbler told me it was a manufacturing defect and i should take them back to where i bought them. i was a little embarrassed to take them back to phillips since they were sandals and rather dirty. but the salesman took one look at them and told me to pick out another pair, even though i didnt have my receipt anymore. i was able to get the same style (albeit a different color) and was very pleased with the entire transaction. he was very courteous and has ensured a repeat customer out of me. read more
