The surgery went great on my left ankle and feels better then ever. I'll be going in again later this month for my second surgery. His nurses and himself have been nothing but kind and a pleasure to talk to. The same with Dr shelton. He was also able to get me in and take care of an ingrown toenail. I repeatedly asked, but how do we fix it? He repeatedly said, a heel lift. This didn't feel right to me. It seemed like it would make a permanent issue out of something that must have a root cause. I did my own research. His legs are, in fact, the same length, but his Quadratus Lumborum muscle is pulling his pelvis up on one side of his body. The answer is stretching and chiropractic adjustments to reclaim symmetry, and maybe, if it fails, then possibly orthotics. But no freaking way should that be the first option for a 13 year old. A total disgrace, I'm so disappointed in the lack of answers and the "solution" that was recommended. An educated physician should have better information.

I was afraid that the surgery would be very painful, but finally realized the pain from the ingrown nails was getting worse anyway and decided to check out the local podiatrists. My husband and I had just moved into the area, and I looked up information on all the podiatrists within half an hour or so of our new Saratoga Springs home. When I decided on and met Dr. Bowerbank in Lehi, I found him to be kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. He explained everything very well, and after talking with him, my husband and I went home to consider the possibility of surgery. As the pain continued to get worse in the next few weeks, I decided to set up another appointment. My husband and I had a few final questions, but after Dr. Bowerbank answered them to our satisfaction, I said, "Let's do it!" So he did. The surgery itself surprised me. There was very little pain, though he cut off a small area on the side of each toenail that was affected, including the nail bed, explaining things and answering questions as he proceeded. Things went really well, and I walked out of the office, pain-free and with instructions for the next two weeks, including setting up a follow-up appointment. I'm writing this review the day after the surgery, and I'm still amazed at how well I'm feeling.

My wife has been to see Doctor Christiansen 3 times with no results. She just called in to see if she should just pay the $3-400 to get an MRI at this point and rather than give any good advice the Doctor instructed the nurse to set up yet another $150-200 appointment so he could get paid for the 5 minute conversation. I get this is how they maximize their income with how our system is set up but I have an aversion to being taken advantage of and i know there are people like me out there. So hopefully the few minutes I've taken to warn you will save someone a headache with a provider that sees you more as a recurring revenue source than as a patient. Good luck.
