Quick service. Awesome food. Ordered stir-fry beef and vegetables. Vegetables were super, fresh cut. Beef was tender and delicious.

My initial foray into the world of dining in at a Vietnamese restaurant marked an exciting adventure, and Pho did not disappoint. This renowned establishment, primarily known for its takeout options, promised to deliver a unique and memorable experience. As we entered the restaurant on a warm weekend, I couldn't help but admire the tastefully designed decor and the ambiance that was a perfect blend of tranquility and cultural authenticity. The safe and spacious seating arrangements complemented the contemporary expectations of comfort and safety, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience. However, the promising first impression began to wane as we encountered a noticeable shortcoming--customer service. For a restaurant of such stature, I anticipated a warm and inviting reception. Regrettably, our arrival was met with indifference. The employee behind the counter, absorbed in their computer, provided only a cursory nod in acknowledgment. Our party was left to our own devices, with no one extending a greeting or guiding us to a table. After seating ourselves, a considerable amount of time elapsed before a server finally attended to our needs and initiated the order-taking process. Oddly, the restaurant was far from crowded during our visit, with only two other tables occupied. This made the lackluster service even more perplexing. The sluggishness of the service extended to every aspect of our dining experience. Our inquiries for recommendations, especially considering my limited knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine, yielded disappointingly sparse information. The lack of guidance left me questioning whether I would return to this establishment. The true litmus test of any dining experience, however, lies in the food. In this regard, Pho did have its moments. Several dishes from the à la carte menu presented generous portions that were challenging to finish, even for my adult son. The flavors were generally good, with a delightful taste that teased the palate. Yet, the devil was in the details. Regrettably, my order for spicy fried rice with extra hot sauce left me wanting. The dish that arrived at our table was far from the fiery delight I had anticipated, and I had to request additional hot sauce to salvage the spiciness I had hoped for. In conclusion, my inaugural experience at Pho was a mixed bag, defined by both highs and lows. The exquisite decor and ambiance, coupled with the delectable flavors of some dishes, provided moments of culinary delight. However, the subpar customer service, lack of guidance, and inconsistencies in food preparation marred what could have been an exceptional dining experience. While I appreciate the positives, it is clear that improvements are needed in areas critical to a memorable dining adventure. Whether or not I return to Pho in the future will depend on the degree to which these issues are addressed. I hope to see the restaurant reach its full potential, offering a consistently outstanding experience to diners who seek a taste of Vietnamese cuisine. read more

Second visit. Tried the deep fried egg roll and beef pad tai. Once again, the meal, the service and the atmosphere did not disappoint. Good food and lovely folks. Recommend you take an hour and pop in for a meal. By the way - they are also doing a busy take-out service as well. read more

I come by this place whenever I pass by Kingston. It is one of the best places to get Pho. That is to say, it is better than most Pho places in Toronto. The restaurant is clean and the service is fantastic. It is comfort food at its best. The broth for the Pho is clear and tasty, not murky. When traveling along the 401 with my parents we usually just stop at the service stations along the highway for food, but this time we decided to exit the highway and head into town for a meal. Pho Kingston is not too far from the Gardiners exit off the 401. We had lunch there and overall it was ok. My parents started with some spring rolls ($6 for 2 rolls) and they both had a medium Special Pho each ($9 a bowl). I had the grilled chicken and spring roll vermicelli ($10). I was disappointed that the grilled chicken was fatty thigh meat :( I much prefer lean breast meat. That being said, at least the marinade was good. Flavourful but not overly salty. The spring rolls were hot and crispy, but pretty unremarkable otherwise. They had the usual wheat-based wrappers and not the more authentic rice paper wrappers which I love. The vermicelli itself was nicely cooked, not too dry nor too mushy. Vegetables were carrots, lettuce and cucumbers. They were fresh. Overall, ok, but nothing to rave about in my opinion. My parents commented that the broth was fragrant but did not taste like bone broth. Perhaps they used the correct spices and seasonings, but didn't simmer it in enough beef bones. They also noted that the meats were just rare beef, well done beef, and beef meatballs. No tripe, brisket or tendons. So the food is somewhat Westernized, so don't come expecting an authentic pho. However, it's likely a good introduction to Vietnamese cuisine for people who are a little hesitant to try new foods or anything too "exotic." Service was friendly and efficient. 3.5 stars really but we'll round up. Stopped by a handful of times this year, just haven't gotten around writing a review for this place. Not so much downtown Kingston (on Princess) but still within around 10 minute drive. It's one of the more modern places in the area that has plenty of space with lots of tables. Service is also solid. Ordered the Pho Dac Biet and Pho Tai the times I've been here and both are good value with a huge bowl of noodles and meat/toppings. The broth lacks a bit in richness and flavour compared back to home in the GTA but everything else is up to par and what I would expect. It's pretty solid and one of the few pho options there is in Kingston now that Dong Nai is shut down. Pretty good, nothing mind-blowing but good atmosphere and away from the busy downtown Princess area. read more

Was definitely not expecting a pho place pretty much right next to my hotel. Nice and spacious location, clean, friendly staff. Had an avocado milkshake ($5, good richness and pleasant amount of sweetness, fair portion imo) and a regular sized P1 special beef pho. The broth was flavourful and there was a good amount of thinly sliced beef along with beef balls. I'm used to beef that's more raw but this wasn't too bad. Noodles were ok. If they had brought bean sprouts and lime right away the hotter broth could have cooked the sprouts a little more. But very solid for like less than $10 for a bowl! read more

My wife and I have been coming here on a regular basis for the last year or so. Personally I really like the pho, the broth is very flavourful, sometimes even more than others. I've tried most of the variations and my favourite is the one with stir fried beef. It has a good solids vs broth ratio making for a more substantial dish. I always ask for chili oil, bean sprouts and mint as toppings. The portions are substantial, I usually have leftovers for the next days lunch. My wife doesn't care for pho so she rotates among other dishes and really enjoys them. She especially likes the spring rolls. The service is fast and attentive and the servers are charming. read more

Really nice atmosphere. Service was friendly and good. Drinks were topped up promptly. However, this place fits in with Kingston's attempt at Vietnamese food...underwhelming and bland. Vermicelli was mushy, spring rolls tasteless, beef was thick and fatty - also no taste. Tried to finish eating the dish but got half done...just had to give up on it. Just a bad experience, food was terrible nothing was done right. Service should have been better. The girlfriend and I go out for Vietnamese acouple times a month so my mother had mentioned this new place to us and we have been excited to try this place ever since. The good: The atmosphere is nice. The bad: We ordered spring rolls to start. I took a bite and it was still cold in the center. Told the manager who then proceded to touch the chewed up and spat out spring roll with his bare hands infront of us at the table. He told us he would comp them and bring out new ones. This was great except the girlfriend order the bun thit nuong cha gio which comes with spring rolls and they where cold in the center also. We asked the server what vegetables comes on the bun thit nuong cha gio he said cabbage. We asked if we could get cucumbers and bean sprouts instead. The bean sprouts where brown and had gone bad. She tried the meat and did not like it so I gave it a try. The whole dish tasted like ash. (more info on this at the bottom) I ordered the beef brisket pho. The broth tasted alright it was meaty, and a nice anise flavour, but not enough acid to break it down. It was not accompanied with any sides (bean sprouts, cilantro, onion, lime, thai basil) which I was expecting. They did have some green onion and cilantro in the soup but it was just a tiny sprinkle. The bowl only had broth, rice noodles, and brisket which was cut way to thick to be ediable and was very chewy. I also ordered a bubble tea. The liquid flavour was good but the tea was served still hot and all the bubbles clumped at the bottom so I had to eat them with a spoon instead of sucking them through a straw. The manager came to our table and noticed (with a somewhat shocked look on his face) that we had barely touched our food and did not even ask us if everything was good or how our meal was. Just gave us the check. Since he did not ask how the meal was I proceded to ask him how they cook the meat for the bun thit nuong cha gio. He said they do it over a charcoal grill. I informed him that the dish tasted like ash. My assumption is that it's from the charcoal grill not being cleaned properly or being cleaned while our food was cooking, and because she dumped the nuoc cham on the dish it spread to every other item on the dish. We only got comped on the app spring rolls we ordered. Even though we only had a couple bites of the food. read more

Ample parking at this location and easy to access off Gardiners Road. Friendly staff and a clean open, bright space. The pad thai is very yummy and can be ordered with your preferred level of 'heat'. Gluten-free options are available. The shrimp rolls are a nice appetizer to start with and most dishes are generous enough to share. read more

Finally! Great pho in Kingston! I love pho, so much that we went to Vietnam last year to eat it! This restaurant just opened in Kingston so my husband and I had to try it! Been twice and both times found that the pho was bland, ordered the special pho both times. The last time today I was told that they had no beef balls because of a delivery problem? ( so they don't make it there but have it trucked in? ) and only one very small piece of tripe was found. The pho really lacked the flavour of a long simmered rich bone broth and with any out of the wonderful spices like anise, fennel, cinnamon and cloves Or so little that one could hardly taste them. the basil was bruised and wilted the bean sprouts were aged. This was more like a watered down version maybe trying to appease to the western taste. Nothing at all like a true Vietnamese pho. Add two fresh grilled pork rolls to that and it was meh? The service was nice the place was very clean and bright felt welcomed but I came for the food. All for $25.00 felt ripped off but I did give them a second chance but I definitely will not be returning for a third time. read more

I come from Ottawa and compared to the Viet food I can eat there this is subpar. Although I will say that the interior was much more inviting and clean than most other pho restaurants. Service at around 6pm (when I was eating) is pretty slow but it seems to pick up after that; so I'd recommend going at around 7:00. As for the food itself I had the pork and spring roll vermicelli. The pork had a lot of pepper on it and didn't taste that good (no lemon grass) and the springrolls definitely weren't the best I've had (not sure exactly how to describe what was bad though). I tried a bit of my father's pho broth which tasted good though so I would probably go for that next time. The options on the menu are rather limited in terms of types of meat (beef tendon, shank ...) but I did notice that they serve a northern style pho! So I ordered a takeout order from Phở Kingston today and they gave me the wrong order. I didn't realize until I got home because I was trying to take my 1.5 year old home as he was getting cranky. So I called them and let them know they wanted the wrong order back. So I get my father to return the wrong order because I had to get my boy ready for bed and eat dinner. My father calls me and tells me that the other person who received our order came back and all they did was put my order in a new bag and gave it back. They also did the same thing to the other customer. Both our orders and their order was over 40 dollars and they just gave it back to both of us cold. Not to mention we are in the middle of a lockdown due to a pandemic so now I have had to throw out my order and now have to go find something else to eat. Absolutely absurd business practice. The woman working was rude and even hung up on me when I talked to her. In short I will never be going to Pho kingston again. Edit: when my father first showed up they said they would remake our order. But when I called and said it was not remade the woman said "oh well they only had it for like 5 mins" read more

I ordered the chicken pho, and wasn't outrageously impressed with the flavour or complexity of the broth. It was rather bland and needed extra sauces and salt to make it enjoyable. That being said, I've heard nothing but great things about the beef (traditional) pho, so it could very well just be the chicken version that isn't as perfected. Beef pho is the traditional vietnamese way of making pho! The decor was upscale and open-concept. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend skipping the bubble tea, it wasn't drinkable. There are plenty of locations downtown that serve bubble tea with a large variety of flavours. read more
