    ER Phoebe Putney Hospital.

Awful experience for me. ER nurses were great. Doctor was another story. Totally hateful, unprofessional person. The ER is NASTY. My IV bag was hung on a window that was covered with mold. It looked like the place had never been cleaned. If you want to get an infection, this is the place to go. Have pictures to show the nastiness.

I wrote a review on this hospital late last year regarding a horrible experience with my mom. All kinds of excuses made, particularly concerning one of the traveling nurses attending to my mother - simply incompetent/seemingly uncaring. My mom's stay last year was the result of an emergency room visit that necessitated a week's stay in the hospital. This time, the hospital stay was due to a procedure and the ONLY reason we allowed mom to go back to this place was due to the confidence/trust we have in the doctor who was performing the procedure; he assured us that the staff on the 4th floor were a good bunch of folks. Not sure why there is an obvious difference in care from the 7th floor that my mom was on last year, and the 4th floor that she was on this time, but the care and the attentiveness were much, much better. Though there were some times when we had to contact the nurses' station multiple times to get a reply, it was not a gigantic deal, specifically because I was in the room with my mother and was able to help (of note, we would not have allowed her to be in the hospital without someone staying there with her, specifically after the last incident). When you have a loved one in the hospital, be sure to keep an eye out, stay in touch. I have so much admiration for the good/caring doctors and nurses who are on the frontline and dedicate their lives to helping patients and treating them with kindness, respect, and dignity. I have no patience whatsoever for those who treat their patients otherwise. Of note, there is a lot of talk at times about the hospital food, but the food in the cafeteria is decent! I had a turkey burger and fries for lunch; had a dinner meal of chicken parmigiana, mashed potatoes, English peas, and a muffin. Not bad at all...

I'd give zero stars if I could. The only thing they did was make sure that they got paid.

I need to give them fair credit for trying so hard to redeem themselves. Grace and LaTonya were my nurses that I nominated for awards. I'm not someone that you want for a patient. I was a wreck. They made me laugh!! Visited for a minute when I couldn't sleep. Really great care. So far above the last time I just can't describe it!!

Dr. Jani has truly been a godsend concerning patient care. The compassion and unfeigned love that…read moreDr. Jani has regarding patient care is second to none, and his diligent work ethic is matchless. Dr. Jani's compassionate care and zeal that he has for his patients remind me of the verse of scripture in Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might...." Dr. Jani must have come out of the womb with that verse of scripture in his hand because he has wholeheartedly devoted his brilliant medical expertise to the ministry of his patients. I am one of Dr. Jani's sickle cell patients, and I have been under his gifted, genius, and professional care since 2003 when Dr. Edward Oleen introduced me to him during one of my appointments at the Phoebe Putney Cancer Center Hematology/Oncology. At the time, Dr. Oleen, who also is an exceptional Physician, was treating me for my sickle cell disease. Even though Dr. Oleen was doing a great job managing my sickle cell disease, he gave me the option to change course and redirect my patient care into the skillful hands of Dr. Jani. When I look back over those past 19 years and think about the patient care that I have received from Dr. Jani, I can honestly say that it has been of the highest quality--top-notch and fantastic! I can recall one particular instance that occurred back in 2012 when Dr. Jani gracefully managed a sickle cell crisis that I was dealing with. In 2012, I was experiencing avascular necrosis of my right hip to the degree that I needed a total hip replacement. In 2012, The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) had initially said that they would provide me with the patient care that I needed. And so, I waited for the VA to communicate with me about the matter for approximately six months, and for six months all I ever heard from the VA were crickets. And so, annoyed and frustrated with the VA, and knowing exactly where I could get the outstanding quality patient care that I needed, I communicated the matter with Dr. Jani, and the rest was history. Dr. Jani set the wheels in motion for me to see an orthopedic surgeon outside of the VA. Dr. Jani had handled the matter so masterfully and professionally, that in October 2012, I was able to get a total right hip replacement. And so, after receiving exceptional patient quality care from Dr. Jani for so many years, I chose to let him be the primary manager of my sickle pain crisis versus the VA, and to this day, the patient care that Dr. Jani provides and accommodates me with is sensational! In my opinion, Dr. Jani is a humble, compassionate, and caring Physician who truly knows how to encourage and promote patient fealty. Dr. Jani's personality and unfeigned smile invites trust. Also, Dr, Jani respects and treats all of his patients as if they were one of his family members, which alone speaks volumes. And so, I would undoubtedly recommend Dr. Jani's outstanding and professional medical expertise to anybody that needed it. Ernest Sapp. 07/13/2022

Reason why I hate the healthcare in Albany , so I went to be seen two weeks ago. Everything was…read morefine with the visit, but then I kept getting notifications that I need to check my patient portal so I open it up and like anything you are seen for as a female usually they'll do a pregnancy test just in case the medication's would interfere with that I see in there that the test came back positive when I first read this result, I was panicking a little, but then it gave me a false hope over a year ago. I was diagnosed with PCOS and told I could probably never have kids. so at the same time I was genuinely happy with it. I let myself process it so then afterwards I called the doctors office. I've seen it and expressed my concerns because nobody even told me the results and the medication I was on for pain you aren't supposed to take. They put me on hold and said we're gonna go talk to your doctor that you saw after 10 minutes. They came back and said yeah you need to stop your medication that they gave you and see your OB/GYN as soon as possible to follow up on the test. This was early in the day after I was seen in the office. By the end of the day around 6 PM the doctor reached out to me and was like I was told you have some concerns about your results and then I responded. Yes, the nurses already talked to me about it. And he was like oh yeah that's just a transcript error we can redo the results if you don't feel comfortable or trust our word they came back negative. After that I felt certain way because first of all this is over a week after I took the test and I get it mistakes happen but at the same time, I'm sitting here with big news. That isn't even real was already confirmed with the nurses before you waited the whole entire day to reach out to me. Tell me hey yeah you need to take the medication essentially there's no care there because why does it take you a week to be like oh yeah that is wrong how do you know it's wrong in the system when there's so many other patients if you knew it was wrong, you should've changed it to begin with it felt like in a way they took away something that I didn't even have to begin with
