Her photography speaks for itself--fresh, unique, an ode to a bygone era. She was able to capture the unspoken, and that alone holds great significance. While capturing our wedding day was of great importance to my husband and I, we weren't well versed in wedding-photography...at all. We knew Shannon was professional, and we allowed her to direct us, and what she needed of us. She knows exactly what she has to do and when she has to do it (If you have a wedding planner or day-of planner, she can coordinate with him/her as well). A huge thanks to Shannon for thinking outside the norm and capturing our vision, even before we knew what that vision was. If she has an idea, she runs with it. I must commend her on simply taking charge and shooting what she needed to shoot (simple things like rings, flowers, vintage handbags, etc.). The afternoon of our wedding day, I remember standing in the foyer of the house we were living in. Shannon walked in, said her "hello's" and started looking for places to shoot. While we were getting ready, she asked for particular sentimental items of mine and photographed them. I would have never thought to capture such beautiful emotion, and she did it with ease. We are beyond thankful for the memories Shannon has gifted us. If there's anything more I could have asked, it would have been more time with her and her camera. However, time flies when you're so blissfully happy, and there's nothing about that I would have changed.

She was funny and personable, and helped me to relax and have fun with the shoot (I'm camera shy). She laid out how the process works and even provided tips on how to prepare for the photo shoot. Her studio was beautiful and somehow made me feel very comfortable because it was personal and set a nice stage for the photos I was having made. Like every woman, I have body image issues but Cayce put me at ease very quickly. I was…read morereally excited to get his photos done because we'd gotten our first sons pictures done by her and they turned out absolutely amazing and we had a pleasant experience at that shoot. However, this shoot was far from pleasant. It was to the point Shannon was down right RUDE & NASTY towards my 14 day old baby!!!! It was insane her attitude the entire shoot!!!! She had to be joking right???? My first son was bottle fed and took a pacifier and clearly didn't mind being put in poses, however, our newest addition was breast fed and never had a pacifier, so he easily woke and didn't necessarily like being posed. This seemed to ANNOY Shannon and oh boy did she act ANNOYED during the session!!! For $1000 for this session you'd think she would show a little more professionalism! She didn't!! She was patting his back extremely hard, getting frustrated and pulling away from him, pulling down her masks and making snide comments, and even on the last shot my son moved out of place and she slams her camera down and yells I'm done!!!! I thought to myself "you're joking right?" She was seriously upset with my 2 week old baby! It was very uncomfortable and my brother who accompanied me noticed. Like lady get some patience!!! Not all babies are the same and some may be a little more of a challenge to shoot but this is your profession, she claims to have been doing this for over a decade, and she's compensated very well for this!!!! I was highly upset & didn't say anything until now because I didn't want it to affect the turn around time of my pictures!! But I am done with Shannon Leigh Studios. I will no longer patronize this business or refer anyone here. She DOES NOT have the temperament to work with babies! Also, she'll tell you she was a daycare/kindergarten teacher for years & I feel awful for those poor children if she acted the way she did in this shoot to those babies as well! BEWARE!!!!!!!
