After poring over dozens of photographers' portfolios, websites, reviews, and Instagram pages, my fiancee and I, with the help of our wedding planner (Wedding Belles), decided on Leigh Wolfe of Leigh Wolfe Photography. We are very happy with Leigh. We decided on Leigh for a few reasons: 1. Her pictures look great. Her pictures are bright, clear, vivid, and crisp. They have a timeless look to them. She captures events really well. I like the composition and angle of her shots. Other photographers have trendy looks that I'm not keen on (for example, some like to use a "faded" or "filtery" look which I don't want on my wedding photos). 2. She is familiar with our venue, the Atlanta History Center and Swan House. 3. She was recommended by our wedding planner. (We found Leigh independent of our planner as well.) 4. Her packages were within our wedding budget. Before hiring Leigh, we had an initial meeting with her and our wedding planner. We got to know her and take a look at some of her work in person (she brought samples). Leigh has an outgoing, fun, and positive attitude, all of which I think are ideal qualities for a wedding photographer. Her website is a great extension of her personality (https://bit.ly/2VkjKno). She uses HoneyBook for proposals, project management, payments, and communication. She's on top of everything and a good communicator. More reasons to have confidence in her. When we made it official with Leigh, we received an unexpected thank you package in the mail. It contained a personal handwritten thank you card from Leigh and various goodies including a bottle of Prosecco. We went with the Signature Collection. It comes with a lot of stuff including 9 hours of wedding day coverage with a 2nd photographer plus a complimentary engagement session, wedding and engagement albums (65 images in a 10x10 wedding album, 25 images in an 8x8 engagement album), a complimentary wedding website and heirloom registry, and more. Leigh helped us decide on our engagement session locations. We wanted to do something in Atlanta and she knows the city well. Our engagement session ended up taking place at Irwin Street Market, the BeltLine, Jackson Street Bridge, and Atlantic Station (where we live). Atlanta means a lot to my fiancee and me and I was really happy with the locations. Our engagement session with Leigh was a lot of fun. She came prepared with her holster of cameras and camera equipment. Shooting with her was a breeze. I just did what I was told. She directed us. She told us where to stand, how to walk, where to look, and how to pose. Her cheerful and energetic personality made the shoot easy. She really put in the work and effort to get us some amazing shots. The engagement session ended up lasting about 3 hours (!) which is longer than the typical session. That was because we went to multiple locations and had to contend with less-than-ideal weather. Also, I asked Leigh if we could go to an extra location so that took additional time. I realize and appreciate that she went above and beyond for our engagement session. We met with Leigh about two weeks after our engagement session to look at all of our engagement photos. This was called the reveal and design session. She had taken about 800 photos and culled them down to 91. From those 91, my fiancee and I chose our favorites, which turned out to be 48 photos. Those 48 photos ended up going into our engagement album which Leigh designed with input from us. Since the Signature Collection we purchased only included 25 photos in our engagement album, we did have to pay for 23 additional photos. I did not hesitate paying because I thought it was worth it. Considering the amount of work and effort she puts in, I think her prices are fair and reasonable. Along with the hard album, we got digital versions of the 48 photos and a video slideshow with music. My fiancee and I love the pictures. They turned out phenomenal, especially considering it was cold, rainy, and windy during our shoot. We couldn't be happier with them. As for the hard album, it's fantastic. It's very high quality with extra thick pages and wonderful textures. The album flows well and it feels good to hold. Leigh even hand-delivered it when it was ready. One thing that really sets Leigh apart from the competition is how personable she is. She has taken a lot of time to meet and get to know us as a couple. Not only is she practical when it comes to photography, but she's also very much about the experience and making her clients feel special. This caters more towards brides, but as a groom, I appreciate her going that extra mile too. We're excited for Leigh to shoot our wedding next year!

Additionally, proposing over Thanksgiving weekend requires planning far in advance to be sure that all of your options for photographers are not out of town. I, stupidly, did not appreciate that fact until it was two days prior to my proposal and I frenetically decided to change photographers. After numerous strike outs, a deep dive on Yelp brought me to Gianna's page. She, fortunately, was one of the few well-reviewed photographers available for a last minute proposal shoot. Booking with her occurred breezily through email and Venmo, and Gianna remained in constant touch in the days leading up to the proposal. On the day of, Gianna was responsive, punctual, and professional. She kept in touch and remained flexible despite some unforeseen snafus in planning. Even after the big moment, Gianna worked patiently with us. She and her assistant wrangled my rowdy group with ease and spent plenty of time to ensure our special day was captured ideally. We received a sneak peek gallery from the session two days later and the pictures turned out incredible. Even better, her prices were totally reasonable. If we decide to do an engagement shoot or anything else requiring high quality pics, Gianna will be the obvious choice.

I sent Sky an e-mail shortly after my fiancé and I decided to get married in Las Vegas and she replied within 20 minutes. Within a few e-mails back and forth that evening I felt that I did not have to look for any other vendors. Prior to finding Sky, I had filled out a lot of contact forms with other photographers and I felt like none of them had actually read what I filled out. Their e-mail back to me would ask me things that I had already given information about. With Sky, she actually took the time out to read everything I wrote. She also asked questions about me and my fiancé. No one else had really done that before. This definitely set Sky apart from everyone else. I was first drawn to Sky's work because it is colorful and fun. I knew I wanted video because my fiancé and I were eloping and would not have anyone else joining us, but I did not want to have to find one vendor for photography and another for videography. The problem was that I never really cared for video, and I couldn't find any examples of work that was my style. Then I saw that Sky offers stop motion films. It was perfect. I loved how whimsical Sky's stop motion videos are. I love that she makes the wedding rings and shoes dance across the screen. I had finally found a video style that felt like me. I had only been to Las Vegas once about 7 years ago and my fiancé had never been. I had asked Sky for recommendations on where I could take photos. She recommended the Neon Boneyard Museum and I am so glad that she did. I feel those photos she took are so unique. I also told Sky that I was in love with colored smoke bombs and she helped us find that perfect backdrop. This is one of my favorite scenes in the stop motion video. The package that I had picked included an engagement photoshoot. I really didn't think I had time for one since it wasn't in our budget to fly out to Vegas in the months before our wedding date. Sky had insisted that we schedule the shoot and made time in her schedule for the night before my wedding. I am so grateful to Sky. She was in San Diego the morning of and had driven back to make sure that we had time for an engagement shoot and also that we made it to see our Cirque du Soleil show on time. Sky is super patient. I am so awkward in front of a camera! Sky would just talk to us and make me feel at ease. I am glad Sky insisted on the engagement shoot and I have a lot of really lovely photos. I am glad that I have a nice mixture of photos from our wedding trip. The day of the wedding Sky arrived to my room and was keeping track of time. I felt less awkward in front of the camera thanks for Sky and the engagement shoot the night before. Sky had so many creative ideas for the stop motion video. It was so fun and she was so patient in getting me out of my head. I have so many photos of our wedding day. Sky is very amazing and I am lucky to have been able to connect with her. My husband was so impressed with the amount of time that Sky spent with us. Everyone has been blown away by our stop motion video and our photos. Please do not hesitate to book with Sky. I don't take a lot of photos of myself because I am not comfortable in my own skin, but I love ALL of my photos from Sky. She spent a lot of time with us on our wedding day. We started the day around 7am and ended around 8pm. Not once did Sky complain. We were practically on our feet the whole day bouncing from location to location. On top of trying to give us a 5 min video clip of our whole 6 hour wedding( filled with specific dances and traditions), he then proceed to send an email explaining how he made it better sent me a link to the video- but the problem was-IT WASN'T EVEN OUR WEDDING!! Then, because I had to keep calling and emailing him about our wedding video that I still hadn't recieved A YEAR LATER, he throws together a crappy video filled with shots of the ceiling, the back of people's butts dancing and terrible sound quality. You think he offered a discount, or offered to fix it again, or at the very least- an apology. No! I'm so disappointed in the fact we had this photographer to ruin our only piece of memorabilia we had for our wedding. All we have now are memories of a good day that we cant see again.
