We cannot express how much of a stress load it took OFF our shoulders by having both Courtney & Jackson as our phenomenal photographers and honestly, shoulders to lean on throughout our entire engagement season. Buckle up, because this review will be pretty long. I refuse to mince words about how amazing Courtney and Jackson are. Would give 10 stars if I could. I hate taking photos. I'm also wildly shy and awkward, and I apparently don't know how to move my body like an actual human being. My (now) wife is also pretty shy. We don't do PDA. When the task at hand requires you to be comfortable and intimate with your partner while someone you've just met takes photos of it, it's very easy to feel weird about it. From the very first moment I met Courtney, every fear I had was alleviated. She is WILDLY passionate about getting the best shots for you, and it's obvious in the giddy excitement she expresses in every shot. On the subject of genuineness, I wanted to say that many of our wedding guests felt the same way and expressed similar sentiments. The fact that pretty muxh everyone at our wedding were able to just have real conversations with Courtney and Jackson should signal to you that I'm not being hyperbolic. I was very nervous trying to figure out how to surprise my then-girlfriend during the proposal and Courtney was extremely flexible during the prep process, helping give ideas and plan for the moment. We booked Courtney for a very last minute Thursday city hall ceremony maybe 4-5 weeks before the date. Let me tell you. She was kind, helpful and professional from beginning to end. We arranged everything prior to the day of the ceremony entirely through email (Courtney responded to every single one promptly). She gave great recommendations for a makeup artist (Fiona of Urban Beauty Loft was excellent if you're looking!) that I eventually went with. She was an attentive listener and suggested many suitable locations for an outdoor shoot by the water after the ceremony. I felt completely at ease going into the day with Courtney, because she obviously knows her stuff! On the day of, Courtney basically played a coordinator AND a photographer for our group of 13, since none of us had been inside the SF City Hall before. She knew exactly how the process went (checking in, signing paperwork, ceremony at the rotunda, etc.) and where to go, and graciously guided our entire group through the next couple of hours. She knew where to get the best shots and which route to take to beat other groups to the gorgeous balcony on the top floor. Courtney seriously knows this beautiful building inside out! Also, her photography directions were full of humor and joy, we felt completely comfortable being lovey-dovey while she captured it on camera (and I think it shows, see photos). We took photos with our family and friends after the ceremony, and then sent everyone off for a break while we took a few more couple shots. She was so great with everybody, from our parents to our 2yr old niece, it felt like Courtney was part of our group. To end the day, we drove to Chrissy Fields for our second location (per Courtney's suggestion). It was freezing! But so worth it. We got lucky and caught some beautiful light right around Golden Hour. I don't know how we accomplished all that within 3 hours but I'm pretty sure Courtney had 90% to do with it. Courtney and Jackson are AMAZING. The dream team. They are this lovable, dynamic couple who makes you feel so comfortable that you forget that a camera is pointed at you. My husband and I are both super awkward taking photos together and we do not know how to pose at all. So naturally, we were really nervous about both our engagement shoot and our wedding photos. Good thing we found Courtney and Jackson! Courtney's bubbly personality and funny commentary really made us feel more comfortable and helped loosen us up. She would give us direction but also encouraged us to be our natural selves. By the end of the shoot, we were doing "Instagram worthy" poses. I'm shocked that Photoflood Studio and Courtney has not been reviewed on here yet. She is AWESOME! She was referred by someone who wasn't available to photograph the wedding. We requested a 2nd photographer, which she provided and that person was outstanding as well. Its a rare thing to have your photographers become some of your sweetest friends. Courtney and Jackson went from photographers capturing our proposal, to friends throughout our engagement, to family capturing our wedding. Being a photographer myself, booking someone for my wedding was always a thought that terrified me; I couldn't imagine who I could hand over the reins with, to trust on the most important day of my life. But after having Courtney capture the secret proposal my fiance (now husband) set up, it was the most incredible experience; to which her presence and joy only added to. We didn't feel like "our moment" was stolen from us by having a photographer there, we felt so connected to each other and also to her, and the photos she captured are EPIC. OF COURSE we booked Courtney and Jackson for our wedding. They were so loved and adored by everyone at our wedding. Everyone kept talking about how cool our photographers were! Courtney and Jackson were so thorough and made sure they captured absolutely every single part of our wedding day, even more so the parts that were so meaningful and special to us. They added NO stress to the day at all, they worked with our coordinator flawlessly, knew our timeline in and out, and also- which I realized is such an important skill- they knew when to divert from the timeline in order to prioritize a special moment that was happening, and make sure it wasn't interrupted for the sake of the "timeline." I am so in awe over the photos, and am totally able to relive the best day of my life because of how much and how well they captured it. I am so thankful to have had them at our wedding. WOW.... where to even begin with this glowing review for Courtney and Jackson of Photoflood Studios. These two changed our entire wedding experience for the best, and we couldn't be more thankful that we selected them as our photographers.  When we started the wedding planning process, it was overwhelming and a little intimidating, especially when we started looking at vendor prices here in the Bay Area. But, my husband and I both knew that we wanted to spend the money on a quality photographer because the photos are something we will have forever. When we started browsing photographers, we didn't feel connected to anyone's work until we saw C+J's website. I instantly knew that this is who I wanted, and it didn't take much convincing to get my husband on board. We were fortunate to have had C+J recommended to us by our wedding planner, and out of the 3-5 recommendations she made, Photoflood Studio stole the show. The biggest challenge that we faced in our wedding planning process was finding the big ticket vendors: wedding planner, photographer, caterer, florist, and DJ. It felt SO good to check photographer off our list early in the game. One thing I loved was that Courtney met us in person to discuss our visions and just to get to know each other before we committed to a contract (it's a big commitment, people!) and from that first meeting in the Twitter Market, when Courtney was wearing her funfetti sweatshirt and we saw her bubbly personality, I knew that this was meant to be. I emailed her within 48 hours that we wanted to work together, and the rest is history. My husband and I decided we could not afford a videographer, so instead we knew we wanted two photographers. BEST. DECISION. EVER. Courtney and Jackson handled our engagement session and wedding day so seamlessly, it was like they'd been taking our pictures our whole lives! And, we had never had professional pictures taken before! But, I read online that engagement photos are a good warmup and practice for wedding pictures (highly recommend engagement pictures for anyone who is unsure). Another brilliant decision, because after our engagement photos we were so ready for the wedding! Our engagement session was magical and the first time we saw Courtney and Jackson working together. These two are the epitome of a dream team. We were nervous for our engagement pictures, but they made us feel so comfortable and so confident. We had the best time and they captured us in such a raw and beautiful way. We left our engagement session as BFFS, and we were so excited to see them again at our wedding! They took the time to go to the venue ahead of time and scope out some great locations for our bridal party and newly wed shots. C+J were HUGE proponents to making our wedding day a success. They transformed into photographer/time keepers/event planners - I think they are super heroes!!! Our wedding experience was so flawless with them capturing our special day. We requested a "mega selfie" with us and all our guests, and they made that happen!  We snuck off during dinner for the sunset newly wed shots, and they personally drove us around chasing the sunset. It's inexplicable how wonderful these people are. They are so much more than talented photographers, and we are so fortunate to now call them friends.  Something else that was really important is that even with all of their photoshoots and other clients, Courtney ALWAYS responded to my emails in a timely manner. She was so on it, and that made me feel really valued and heard. I appreciated that so much, because I was a nervous bride who didn't know what I was getting into. The fact that I always got an email response in a timely fashion was huge brownie points in my book. AND, they send you sneak peeks!! Literally the day after our engagement shoot and wedding day, they sent us a bunch of sneak peeks! There is literally nothing better than getting a taste of your special memories to hold you over until the full gallery is ready. If you are on the fence about photographers, know that your time with C+J of Photoflood Studios will be one of the best parts of your wedding. They want to capture you and your partner as you are, and will never make you feel posed, uncomfortable, or phony. I could write a book about these two and how incredible they made our wedding day. This review is very late but Courtney and Jackson are seriously the most amazing people and photographers you will ever meet!! We had our wedding in August 2020 and had so many ups and downs with planning and replanning secondary to the pandemic; however, Courtney and Jackson were so patient, kind, and understanding with all of our back and forth planning. After getting our venue for our wedding, we knew we wanted to secure a photographer. I found Photoflood Studio through Instagram as I was looking at photos shot at our venue. I fell in love with one photo and started to creep on Courtney. I showed my now husband her Instagram like a fan girl and we both agreed we loved all her photos and decided to DM her. She was very quick to respond. I realized we had a lot of mutual friends as her husband, Jackson went to Cal Poly SLO as well. Of course, I wanted to do my due diligence and asked our mutual friends what they thought, and they all spoke very highly of Courtney. We e-mailed back and forth and decided to meet up for boba. We went right when boba opened before the holiday shopping rush in Union Square. Right away, my now husband and I felt super comfortable with Courtney and Jackson and felt like we were long time friends. They are both super personable, yet professional. We hung out for hours just chatting. It was very important for us to feel very comfortable with our wedding photographers. My husband isn't that into photos taken of him, but after our engagement shoot, he said he actually enjoyed it! Courtney made us feel super comfortable and her spunky and positive personality kept us going through the windy and cold evening! Her commentary during the session makes me laugh just thinking of it, but that't exactly what you want- to be natural in your photos! Throughout the year of planning, Courtney was always super responsive and gave us a lot of tips and vendor recommendations! Prior to the wedding, she had us fill out a questionnaire for our wedding day asking details of our wedding party and family members. She was very organized, even color coordinating the Google Doc. Fast forward to the wedding day, Courtney and Jackson arrived early and were ready to go! They started off with photographing the details while we continued getting ready. They are such a great team, they worked flawlessly with our coordinator throughout the day and checked in on us periodically. They are both very detail oriented and want to make sure they get the best shot! You know they really care about their work and are very professional. They make every moment seem natural and are super fun to be around. We genuinely wanted to just talk to them the whole time while doing portraits, they are just so fun! It was also very important for us to enjoy time with our guests during cocktail hour, they both kept with the schedule and moved along through family portraits diligently! Post wedding, they already sent us a bunch of sneak peek photos within the week! We were so excited to see all the amazing photos, they captured the day so perfectly! If you are trying to find photographers for your wedding that are fun to hang out with and take great photos, you found them! They are the dynamic duo, both so talented and skillful. The biggest challenge we faced in our wedding planning were all the logistics of bringing a multi-cultural and geographical family together and of course sticking to a budget! These challenges made us feel overwhelmed at times, and we really needed a team of wedding vendors that had the right positivity and energy, and realized just how special wedding really was to us and our guests. I first met Courtney at an ice cream parlor... and she had the most cheerful, upbeat, open personality ever. I hired Courtney and Jackson to covertly photograph my proposal to my fiance after I was referred to them by another photographer. It turned out to be a wet and rainy San Francisco day, but they were such troopers and the photos turned out AMAZING! Without a second thought we hired them to photograph our Napa wedding. They are so nice and professional. They made the entire experience of taking staged photos very effortless and the pictures have turned out great! We couldn't be happier. We hired Courtney to do a post-wedding bridal shoot. Somehow our wedding photographer didn't get any photos of just me (the bride). I was so bummed when I realized that after the wedding, but then so happy I had the chance to work with Courtney to fix the oversight. She helped us find a way to do the bridal shoot as well as some fun pictures of my husband and I. Her energy was so fun and light and caring and made the whole experience incredibly joyful. She made me feel like a million dollars - both in my wedding dress and later with my husband for a more casual shoot.
