We normally do 2 sessions a year, with a pro photographer. One is always of my kid, and the other is family. From start to finish, the process of working with Alex was very relaxed, and easy going. She warmed up my usually awkward kid, and took her photos with ease. The result? Over 25 photos I could have easily purchased, even though 10 was the deal.. and I settled with 17. This is by far the most pleased I have been to see my daughters photos, and Alex truly captured her spirit in each one of them. I was really on the fence about taking maternity pictures...I truly couldn't decide whether or not…read morethey're totally cheeseball or a great way to capture a very special moment in life. Not to mention the fact I'm 6 months pregnant and not necessarily feeling my most beautiful. However, after careful consideration I decided to take the plunge and get them done if for no other reason than I have yet to take 1 side shot of my expanding belly and needed some documentation of this pregnancy. Now the hard part...deciding on who to hire. In case you haven't already scoured the internet or yelp I'll break it down for you... there are like 5 million photographers in the Houston area to choose from and I am beyond picky about photography/art. I *hate* posed unnatural looking pictures. I hate JCPenney/Olan Mills/*insert generic mall photography store* or "photographers" that take pictures that literally anyone with a digital slr and a finger could snap. Ugh. No thanks. Couple that with the fact I've been burned in the past by a photographer and am beyond leery about contract business. So, in the end I decide on the word of mouth referral and find Unique Art, Design and Print and I'm so so SO glad I did. Alex made me not only look but feel so beautiful during our session. The pictures are natural, the lighting is great, and whatever photoshop filter or lens she used made just about every one of the 400 pictures we took something I want framed and enlarged to an 8x10 on my wall. WOW. Couple that with the fact she is very easy to work with and really listened to what I wanted (or rather what I didnt want) my pictures to look like and captured the moment perfectly. I seriously felt like my pictures were a Calvin Klein ad or something! Hahahaha but seriously...thats how good they turned out. Anyways, I cannot reccomend her enough!
