Evoke emotions and tell a story. Ricky thinks outside the box and has a great eye with regards to setting up good and "unconventional" shots. If you like some traditional, he is the guy for you, too. I suggest you go with his package that includes the engagement session - that is a great way for you to learn how to work the camera and get to know Ricky's style. That way you will be ready for the Grand Day! Before we made our decision to go with Ricky we also met with another photographer, who was highly acclaimed but lacked enthusiasm in my opinion. I connected with Ricky and he did with us, and we did not regret it a bit. He is also very reasonably priced, fast as a light beam, and has a great attitude. Planning my wedding was so exciting but very stressful. I was planning my wedding from out of state…read moreand flew back and forth many times to make it happen. I booked Ricky online based on his amazing photos and outstanding reviews. I was so excited because not only was his price amazing but his photos were amazing as well. The phone interview I scheduled with him was very professional and I felt he understood what I wanted. He also gave me great advise on other wedding planning issues I hadn't even thought about. His response to my inquiring emails was way faster than any other photographer I emailed and continued to be lighting fast throughout his entire time under contract with me- even if I emailed him at 12 in the morning I would get a response back! He was amazing! Come closer to the wedding I had to cancel and reschedule our engagement shoot multiple times (even down to the day before) and he was so accommodating. He said no problem and was available the next day I needed him! I was shocked that he was so easy going and willing to help me. Our engagement session blew me away. His personality was award winning and I had the best time of my life. I didn't want to leave just because my fiance and I were having so much fun walking around greynolds park with him. (And trust me my fiance does not enjoy taking pictures-but he didn't complain once which is huge!!) I can't even describe how amazing Ricky is because he has such a perfect blend of professionalism and fun. I felt like we were hanging out with a best friend but at the same time he didn't miss a second to get a shot. He was in the zone and in complete control of the session while making us laugh every second of it. He had to stop in the middle of a shot and tell us that he does this a lot and it is so refreshing to see a couple really in love- I can't tell you how great of a shot that picture turned out to be with the smiles on our faces. ;) Not even 2 days later I had a fully edited collection of every shot taken and oh my were those photos gorgeous. We took the engagement photos 4 days before the wedding and I wanted to have them at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding and Ricky made sure I not only had the digital copies way in advance but he made sure I had my hard copy CD in the mail way in advance!! I was shocked! I didn't expect to be able to play them at the rehearsal but Ricky made sure I had them! Having the engagement session was so wonderful because we got to know eachother, he got to understand my personality and what I wanted in my photos and I learned to completely trust him with my life! It made me so relaxed on my wedding day to know I had the best photographer in the world and who I knew was going to take care of everything for me. Ricky is a leader. He is not afraid to take control and do his job-On top of being SUPER respectful with my guests. He advised me to give him a list ahead of time of who I wanted in the family portrait shots and it was so helpful! He was gathering my family around for the bridal family shots and he had almost memorized everyone by name- and I have a pretty big family! On my wedding day it was raining and I was crying and everyone was in my face telling me to smile- but not Ricky. He was so kind to me and softly approached me and said not to worry about a thing he would retake my bridal shots another day completely free of charge(because they were supposed to be outdoors). I was in heaven! I felt like he was looking after my ultimate good like a father and really cared about my big day. From that point on there was nothing to worry about thanks to Ricky! I told Ricky he was not only my second favorite part about my entire wedding day but that he was my steady drum. He was 30 minutes earlier than we had signed for and right away was zooming around getting every shot he could. I would look around and see him going and feel so relaxed because i knew he had everything under control and wasn't going to miss a shot. Whenever I felt a hint of stress I looked for Ricky and felt relieved. He understood how important the photography was to me- after all it's the only thing you can take away from that day for memories. And he was so thankful for every second we gave him at the wedding to stop and pose. It was so funny because I felt like thanking him-not to be receiving thanks!! Ricky is great not only because he is extremely tallented but he is an encourager- In every session I had with him I left feeling like a princess. He couldn't take shots without getting so excited and saying how gorgeous the shots were turning out. My fiance and I were so excited after the wedding because Ricky was so excited- and let me tell you- he had a reason to be! My wedding photos are gorgeous!! They are amazing!! He was a real steal!! I can't stop bragging about him to anyone and everyone because he really is the best! I received all my photos-completely edited-in 13 days- that is crazy incredible!! I had a bachelorette party to plan for one of my very good girlfriends. So we had a fantastic photographer named Mika join us at our morning brunch. We took some fun group shots on the beach and then we headed over to the studio on Michigan for a few more hours of shooting. He was fantastic at getting every one to be a part of the day and really got everyone in the spirit of things! He even joined us later at the Mondrian for some shots there, which was super nice of him. The studio was also gorgeous and the photos were great. Brian started tracking the weather a week before. He knew how much it meant to me to be outside without a tent and he did everything in his power to make it happen. Even though it ended up storming Brian had tents waiting and last minute he had the tents put up so my guests wouldn't get wet. Even though he was soaking wet he kept a positive attitude and a smile the entire day. Maria is equally amazing photographer.
