There are a ton of options to get a simple head shot taken, but after working with Sarah, I experienced the difference between someone snapping photos and a true creative professional who knows how to efficiently get the exact nuance of expressions and gestures that make a profound difference in the finished product. The turnaround time from photo session to looking at proofs and being able to use our photos was less than 48 hours, which was outstanding! Despite the fact that our need was quite small compared with event photography, we were treated as if we were a large customer. And the final product was bad. The aggravation was overwhelming. The extra money constantly being asked for was embarrassing. HOWEVER, they were scheduled to begin taking wedding photos at 6 and finish at 8pm. Not only did they NOT arrive on time, they arrived 2 HOURS LATE!!! They not only missed all the wedding photos before the wedding which was during early evening (beautiful lighting), they missed taking pictures of EVERYTHING in the CEREMONY (except the last 5-10 minutes). We were on a very restrictive time schedule because wedding ceremony/reception were on a cruise boat that needed to leave by a certain time. We had to start the wedding ceremony LATE because we were waiting for them and we started the reception cruise and hour late because they were taking pictures. I asked them to stay on the boat (3 hours) although we had not paid for that service, in order for them to make up the hours and time they lost earlier. They said they could not stay on the boat because they were "photographing another wedding the next day and needed to get home." They did NOTHING to compensate for their horrible mistakes and unprofessionalism. They did not make us pay the remainder of our contract but the minimum they could have done was offer to refund our deposit or give us an album of our pictures or some service above and beyond what we paid for. They said "We're sorry." But that doesn't take back that they missed 2 hours of one of the most important events of my and my husbands life. It makes me sick to think we could have paid someone else who would have done the same job, probably better and would have been there for the time we had asked. They're extreme tardiness and the impact it had on the entire events of my wedding day, was by far the most stressful thing I experienced on my wedding day and all the prior months of planning. Again, the least they could have done was offer some form of compensation for their mistakes.

Hiring BACD was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding (Worst decision? DIY flowers. DON'T do it!!). They are both incredibly talented photographers with an amazing eye, not like the usually cheesy wedding photogs that make you do stiff family poses for hours. In photographs I typically have either RBF or a double chin because I'm usually laughing. I also cringe at the standard posed wedding photography and knew right off the bat that it would be a mission to find a wedding photographer that would be up for the challenge. So if you're like me, you may dread the thought of choosing a wedding photographer. It was by chance that I came across CMP's photographs while browsing on Pinterest. They immediately caught my eye; they were editorial, intimate and full of personality. Bottom line - stunning. Fortunately CMP had one photographer available for our date -- Danny. We lucked out because he is not only extremely talented in his craft, but also a total gem of a person. The photographs from our engagement shoot (WHICH COMES WITH YOUR PACKAGE AND IS AN AMAZING BENEFIT OF CMP'S SERVICES) made it immediately clear that Danny has a superb eye and was able to capture our personality as a couple. I've been non-stop spamming friends and family with our wedding photographs since we've received them; and which Danny delivered in record time. I'm in complete awe of how Danny was able to capture the vibe of our wedding in such a natural way. It goes without saying that wedding photographs aren't just for the couple, but also for the friends and family. I keep thinking of the word Zeitgeist (if that happens to mean something to you)-- the idea that art and culture are intertwined, that individuals and their works are products of their time and culture-- this is what you have with Mike & Chellise-- the ability not only to create beautiful amazing portraits and memories of important moments but also to be part of the artistic and inspired zeitgeist of Brooklyn/NY now. In particular, we enjoy the rich saturated hues and style of 1960s Italian (a la Dario Argento) and French New Wave cinema, so we wanted to recreate those moments in our portraits.
