A duo who shoots weddings! Alex does have other team members too but for our wedding they were exactly what we wanted. We did an engagement photo shoot with them and had so much fun! The pictures were gorgeous and we felt like they really captured the essence of us. They were with us every step of the process, they are hands on and so committed and passionate about their business. It was truly great working with them. Idalia Photography has a distinct, high quality style... Alex and Jay's photos are light-filled and simply stated: BEAUTIFUL. One of the BEST decisions that we made for our June 2018 wedding was to book Alex and Jay. From the initial Skype interview, to our engagement shoot, to our wedding day, working with Idalia Photography was seamless and effortless. Alex was beyond friendly and professional throughout all of our communications by email and she was always available, flexible, and thorough every step of the way. On our wedding day, Alex and Jay worked seamlessly together and knew each other's every next move... I guess that's one benefit of a wife and husband team! They blended into the background most of the time, but also stepped up to give direction for certain shots and helped us to stay within our schedule as needed. Both Alex and Jay worked smoothly with our other vendors (if there were any issues- we didn't know about them!). They worked outside through temperature in the 90s without complaint or hesitation... and did everything possible to get the "best shot"... including laughing off when I accidently soaked Jay with my celebratory champagne spray (and still managed to capture the shot somehow!). From the details photos of our invitation/jewelry/flowers/venue to my flowing "veil shots" to our dance floor... every moment and emotion of our day was captured. We received about 100 "photographer's favorites" pictures while on our honeymoon (not even one full week after our wedding day!) and we felt like we were re-living our big day all over again. Steven and I attended Steven's cousins wedding three years ago and we were absolutely blown away by the amazing photography and videography he did for that wedding! I hired Danila for my wedding and I wish I went with another photographer. I found him on the knot…read moreand Instagram and I thought his photos were unique and beautiful...and they are. However he's not an easy person to work with. He had more of a Prima Donna attitude than anyone in the room. He was critical towards my MOH and best man and made passive aggressive statements. He made everyone feel uncomfortable and my bridal party and both my family my in-laws kept asking where I found this man. He didn't take any photos of my MOH and best friend making a speech and focused on other people in the wedding party and giving my other MOH and best man (I know I know I have two sets) all the attention. He didn't tell us to get a park permit for our pre-nuptials and we had no idea we had to...and he ended up yelling at the parks manager and almost had us kicked out. Also, he didn't try to make us feel better by giving us some additional time for the time lost in the park and wanted to leave right on the dot when my tea ceremony was starting...which is huge for my culture. He also ended up giving us 300 something photos and for the price we paid...it's ridiculous. People have 1000 plus photos and he gave us less than half that amount. Some photos were really nice but some...the contrast was way too much and my acne scars were highlighted and he didn't even asked me if I wanted it smoothed out. When I email him about status of the album he gave me a "you're not the only bride I'm working with" type of response and it really made our experience with him even worst. If you guys don't care about who the photographer is and wants his style of photos then hire him, otherwise there are many photographers who are nicer to work with who produce just as good if not better photos.

We had two weddings and each day the staff showed up on time and went above and beyond to assist us with every step of the process. They listened, acted swiftly upon our requests, and even went the extra mile to help me fluff my dress, fix my bridal jewelry that unexpectedly broke right before the ceremony, and help ease our tensions when things got busy during the wedding! 10/10 highly recommend!!!!

I made a whole list and spent a few days talking to him about my expectations as the bride of what photos I wanted. the day of the wedding, he had people who we had never discussed would be there taking our photos and I had never even spoken with these people about what I wanted as the bride so everything I had noted was pretty much disregarded. I didn't appreciate that Zak did a bait and switch with who would be taking my wedding photos. In all, the photos turned out alright. my main issue is with the video. we waited almost three months for our wedding video, so I was expecting a really great video. the video was 1.5 hours long and was completely unedited. the preview videos were amazing, but when the true video came around it was just horrible. Zak said he hadn't even watched the whole video to see what had happened and that he hired a third party to do the editing. whoever did the video just did not even put in effort to making sure our wedding video was taken care of. it is now almost March and my wedding was last August and we still don't have a wedding video from Zak. we can hardly even contact him for any update on the video or when we should expect it. If someone recommends him to you, I would be wary that he may not respond to you often and may not provide the best product. It's very upsetting that we were recommended to him but he just has not delivered.
