The choice was well worth it, even being a two hour one way trip. Dr Courtney is the kind of doctor you don't let slip from your grasp. He is understanding, explains things well, acts proactively, he listens to his patients, and he makes sure they are comfortable with the plan. He will make sure that his patient comes first. The staff at this office are much nicer than most I have met, the girls are sweet and explain things well. Dr Jolitz seems like a well respected doctor in his own right, when I met him he was very friendly and polite. I just had surgery, done by Dr Courtney, and I'm feeling quite good, considering the nature of the procedure. The hospital staff were skilled and worked with me as well. More ladies should have Dr Courtney as their physician, he's very good at his job and will treat you as a human being and not just another chart.

Dr. Cole she is pretty fantastic. She's the sort of doctor you wouldn't mind having coffee with if that didn't sound weird and was probably unethical. I've been seeing her for quite a few years she always goes out of her way to answer all my questions. And sometimes I have weird ones. But she never makes me feel weird. She's helped me in ways other doctors haven't been able to. And she has a great sense of humor. Whether a gynecologist is delivering bad news or a baby, I think that's a pretty important thing to have. I honestly can't recommend her highly enough. Yes, you might have to wait in your exam room for a little longer than you'd like. But you can take up time asking questions, too. She isn't going to hustle you like some doctors do. Tip: if you're ten minutes late to an appointment, you need to reschedule. Other people matter, too. So be on time!

She also told me I would have to have my baby on a specific day of the week or she would not be delivering. She did standard prenatal pap testing and it came back with an abnormal result. I was already listed as high risk and at risk of miscarriage, and she demanded I come back in for immediate treatment, a surgery that is contraindicated during pregnancy. Her staff would call me multiple times a day and harass me about coming in to have surgery while pregnant. I ended up switching to Dr Courtney who was in the same practice and I never looked back. He took care of me and my son, and was the delivering doctor. This SOMC office started canceling my appointments at the last minute toward the end of my pregnancy and even after. I was delayed having my 6 week PP check and another pap by three months, and they canceled my colposcopy as I was driving into town. Because of this, we couldn't keep a close eye on my abnormal results and after Courtney left the practice, I followed him to his new office. He found that the cells had changed significantly and I had surgery just yesterday for it. I'm actually feeling great after the surgery! I will continue having Dr Courtney as my provider, as he actually takes his time, talks to, and treats his patients as people, instead of telling them what they *have* to do like Dr Tirumala did with me.

I presented my insurance card and was assured by staff that my procedure would be covered. I have been notified that Dr Katz was out of my network for at least a month prior to my appointment. I am now on the hook for hundreds of dollars on something that should have been covered mostly if not all by the ACA. My appointment was preventive and had I known I'd be charged, I would have canceled and found a different doctor. Always be sure to call your insurance prior to any doctor appointments. I've learned the websites aren't always up to date and the office staff can mislead you.
