My husband and I go to this YMCA primarily to swim in the inside pool, and we have always found the…read morestaff to be polite and cheerful. The pool itself has three lap lanes, which can accommodate up to six swimmers at a time. You are expected to share a lane with over three reservations. The lanes are reserved online, which insures you a spot for one hour. This means that no one needs to feel intimidated to turn over their lane. There are now several hours of lap swimming per day available. You also sign up online for pool exercise classes. The classes have a limit of spots, so you know you won't be too crowded to move around correctly. The facility is nice, and they consistently work to make it better. Even their waiting area is comfortable, with a "take a book, leave a book" bookcase! The locker room is spacious with a centrifuge machine to spin the excess water from your bathing suit, showers, and private changing booths. There is also a sauna, both the women's and the men's locker room --not coed. Oh, and the outdoor pool is HUGE and to die for!

We have our family passes on our car keys, my husband scammed us all in as we waited but the woman…read moreat the counter had zero restraint when screaming at me to ask if I scanned in when we passed by the desk. It was uncalled for and rude to scream like that even while the male employee sitting by the scanner watched as my husband scanned 4 different cards and told her he seen us scan in. This happened on the same day that my daughter and I just walked out of the restroom and a teenaged guy came walking into the women's locker room like he belonged there (June 16 or 17). The mother followed a minute behind and was complaining that their huge cooler on wheels hit the corner every time they walked through the locker rooms (so how many times has this guy walked through!?). It's disturbing to me that this is a vulnerable place for women yet this clearly male presenting 16-17 year old was comfortable walking in. The women's locker room entrance is right in front of the desk, how did the screaming employee not say a word to him but yelled at me to triple check that I signed in. I will not have to keep constant eyes on my daughter while in the locker room. The place is small, the rules are many, and the other patrons aren't ideal. Some people there expect special treatment and act out of they don't receive it. A lot of mothers dress super inappropriate and don't watch the 4+ kids they always have with them. The weight/machine room is small and people are extra rude by not wiping down anything when they're done and kids often treat the machines like toys. The pool is nice but a lot of kids (the ones being ignored by parents) aren't very well behaved and families very much enjoy blocking the pool stairs. For the cost of a membership, I expected more. I would like to see better enforcement of pool rules (indoor and outdoor), a larger workout room with more/better workout equipment, a watchful eye for the dressing room, open gym time, and just an expansion overall so it's not so cramped all of the time.

This is a nice, quiet and clean gym. My sons both love it and I feel great after my workouts.read more

I love this place. I can see it becoming my fitness 'home' for years to come…read more I've been a member of countless gyms, attended countless classes, tried different running apps on my phone, etc. etc. and yet, through all of that, I couldn't discipline myself to stick to a steady routine. Sure, I'd go to the gym for a few months, but then life got in the way and I'd cancel my membership, only to go join another gym several months later and do it all over again. I haven't been a member of any gym since I moved to Kentucky because there aren't too many options close by. Then back in January of this year, my husband and I found out how to become members of this fitness center and took the steps necessary to do so. If you are a Toyota employee, you can join this gym. If you are a spouse of an employee, you can join the gym. If you are a contractor or just a random person who wants to join the gym, you need to find someone that is currently a Toyota employee who is willing to 'sponsor' (vouch for you) your membership. I believe an employee can only sponsor one person. This is the route we had to take. When you sign up, you get five free training sessions -- which is AWESOME. I had Sara as a trainer -- who really listened to me and helped me come up with a plan to get my butt into shape. Merely two weeks into our training, I was already noticing a huge difference in myself -- how awesome is that? That just pumped me up even more. My husband's trainer (Wade) kicked his butt too, in a good way. We both loved the trainers we had. Let me tell you -- if you are not good at motivating yourself, getting a trainer is a fantastic way to push yourself to see results. This is what I had been lacking all those times I joined other gyms. We even signed up for a few paid training sessions after our free ones were used up. During the year, there are different sports leagues you can join. The center also has outdoor tennis courts, sand volleyball, baseball fields, and a nature walking trail. Oh -- and the best part? Lots of classes!! Yoga, weights, cardio, etc. The gym is pretty much open 24 hours except for Sundays and with special hours during holidays and Toyota shutdown weeks. It kind of became my second home.... I grew to see the same faces each time I worked out and looked forward to a session of strength-training. I got stronger, yo! Unfortunately, I canceled my membership a few days ago due to unplanned life events and tight finances. The $20/month membership fee is not expensive at all (in fact, it's kind of amazing considering that it covers the 24-hour gym, childcare, and all classes), but I'm at a point where I need that.... so once I get back on my feet, I'll rejoin this fantastic gym!
