So I did not. I approached her twice and she did not talk to me. The third time, she did and was extremely rude and accusatory of me running a business out of her gym. She told me she would speak to the other owners to allow me to record exercise videos and get back to me quickly. She didn't. I called the gym a week later and left her a message. She didn't call me back. Poor leadership and even worse management skills. I wouldn't go back to this place. Was like going back in time. In a bad way.

You do need gloves for class but my friend brought some for me, otherwise you will need to buy them from the studio. I was told that it's best practice to keep a punching bag inbetween you and the next person if possible. The instructor came over to introduce herself and came to asses my kickboxing knowledge. I had done some sessions in the past, so I was able to keep up easily with the constantly changing combos. It may be daunting for newcomers but just punching and kicking the bags is a phenomenal workout whether or not you get it right. The instructor was really motivating and supportive. I really enjoyed my experience and would love to go back soon!

The instructors are nice and energetic. like the variety of workouts and the variety of exercises in the 30 min work out, like that it's only 30 (intense 30 but not longer), there's a nook for kids to sit if you have to bring kids, and they really get you in and out so you can go about your day or evening. After nearly 10 months, I find myself aiming to go at least 3 times a week, but if you are really into it you can multiple times a day or do a back to back workout (if you're crazy - lol). You see different ages and abilities, so you don't feel as intimidated as you would in other places with the same type of regimen. Worth trying if you want to shock your body and starting getting stronger.

Equipment was the only drawback and what they have is plenty for what many are looking for. This gym has its own niche and I see how it would work out very well for others. Yes, it's a womens-only gym but don't let that be misconstrued as a place for "weak" people. They do a fantastic job at getting people started and offer many ways to step up your game. You also get a sense of community through classes, newsletters, charity, and activities. I'd give a 2 or 3 stars if I were basing my rating solely on what I want in a gym but I'm going to give 4 stars because I think it would work out very well for a lot of people, it was well kept and clean, they really care about people (not "just business"), and members seem really happy there. :) P. S. Although I didn't stick around, I thought I'd add that the cancelation process was easy. I just gave my month's notice and had no extra payments coming out. Hassle-free, I like that.

All the coaches are friendly and welcoming and have so much knowledge on fitness at any level. 8th Day Gym is not "just a gym", it's a community of people who care about each other. I contacted the Holland site and they graciously allowed me to attend classes while I was here. The facility is very clean and organized with plenty of equipment for the 20ish people that were in each of the classes I went to. The coaches are amazing [Kenzie, Akeem and Adam]!
