Finding a good parking lot in Bologna ain't no easy feat. The old town is off limits for visitors, so you have to stay in the outer ring. With a little research we've found this parking lot here. There's another not far from here as well (Staveco), but has very mixed feedback.
So we dropped our car here. It was a little after 10am and there were still a bunch of spaces empty. It's next to a little park, just off the main street. Costs a little over 2 Euros an hour. Fine for a city like this. Car felt safe here, lots are big enough for a mid-sized SUV.
From here - the Porta Saragozza - the old town starts. And it's an easy 15-20' walk to the Piazza Maggiore. So location-wise it's a pretty good choice. We would park here again. read more
