The pavilion area includes clean public restrooms and outdoor grills perfect for casual sports activities. The paved trails cater to various activities such as walking, running, dog walking, and biking. While the trail markers are helpful, using a mobile phone for orientation may be necessary for longer distances. Although shade from trees is limited, the park offers convenient access to the river, making it suitable for fishing.

Plenty of space, the only time I see a real crowd here is during a sporting events...not the Eagles, but youth soccer practice, volleyball tournaments, or something similar...otherwise there is generally plenty of room here to walk your dog, stretch your legs or just kick back and read a book. My favorite thing to do here is grab lunch and sit in the picnic area relaxing on my lunch hour. Can be hard to go back to work on a gorgeous day, but well worth it in my book! There is one "not recommended" review...I have no idea what this person is talking about, this park is VERY well maintained. Grass is cut, the place is clean and the park ranger is never far from sight.

Around April 2023, when Bark Social Manayunk first opened, we had an incident with one of the staff…read moremembers that left us a bad taste. We had been observing this staff member during our time there. She was neglecting her duties and harassing the dogs while they were playing. She clearly did not understand how dogs play together and could not judge between what was acceptable and unacceptable playing. While walking past this staff member, she used profanity to insult our dog. I was in complete shock. How could she and how dare she call my son such a word! Any dog parent would be furious. Anyway, she did not realize the mother of this dog was next to her and had heard what she said. When my husband and I confronted her, she was speechless. We escalated the issue to management, and I was able to speak with the Chief Operating Officer. She was super understanding and informed me that they would address the issue with that staff member. She also asked that we not let this one experience deter us from returning to Bark Social. We definitely weren't going to come back to Bark Social that soon; we needed some time to get over this horrible experience. Fast forward to one weekend in August 2023, we decided to give Bark Social Manayunk another shot. We had a much, much better experience this time around. So much better, we came back again 2 weeks later. And we plan on coming back again and again. That staff member, who we had an incident with, was not there. I don't know if she still works there, but we haven't seen her. There are also more staff members on the grounds now. These staff members conducted themselves professionally with humans and with dogs. They cared for all the dogs and were very gentle. I am incredibly happy with what I saw. Bark Social opens 7 days a week as early as 8am and as late as 9pm. I realized I prefer coming here with our dog in the mornings and sticking around for a couple of hours. FYI, they have a breakfast menu (I know it's not on their website). The food is what it is. It's all right. People don't come to Bark Social with the main purpose to eat anyway. They bring their dogs here to play, and if they get hungry, they don't have to leave to get food.

PHILADELPHIA/MANAYUNK: Bark Social Manayunk is a "bar for dog lovers!" You know we love it already!…read more It was a lot of fun to visit this social club that includes an outdoor dog park, restaurant, and bar! The dog park is awesome: fully enclosed with astroturf in a big open space with adirondack seating and picnic tables along the perimeter. All size dogs are allowed and there is a smaller separate area for small dogs, if you so choose. We saw a cheerful chihuahua LOVE being chased by other small dogs; it was hilarious! There are Bark Rangers on duty to supervise the pups and even pick up after them! They are so friendly and loved loving on all the pup guests! There is a climate controlled indoor clubhouse to get food, bakery treats for the pup, soft and hard drinks, and browse the gift shop (dogs are not allowed inside). A nice menu and, of course, we had to get the huge pretzel. A highlight is the beer tap system: you can self-choose a pour of any one of their 30 beers directly from the tap. Fill up as much as you want to get a taste or more and then try as much as you'd like. You scan a card that activates the tap and pay at the end. There is also a full bar! While outside, there is a tented space with high-top tables and two big TVs to watch the game and also entertain yourself by watching all the beautiful dogs making new friends, playing, and running around. "All dogs must be current on vaccinations. Please upload vaccination records online via the Membership Portal prior to arrival. We require current Rabies and Distemper (DHPP, DHLPP, DA2PP) vaccinations. Dogs with contagious health conditions are not permitted in the park. All dogs must be flea and tick free. All dogs over a year old must be spayed or neutered. No exceptions. No dogs in heat." They are open all year round and in the winter will have a fully covered tent and heaters. Sign up for a free day pass on their website! It is always free for humans to enter and there is a small charge for dogs. They also sell monthly and yearly passes. If we lived closer, we should definitely sign up!
