Amazing does not begin to describe this dog park. The park is incredibly large, clean, and friendly. We had the best time swimming, running, and squirrel chasing. If you can trust your dog off leash please bring them here it's absolutely beautiful. There were some headstones which were incredibly sad but what a honor to our beloved pets.

Love the space, trails & rivers--BUT the irresponsible pet owners ruin it. Try to go when the park is less busy. Most people at this park don't understand that although, YES it is a dog park, NO it doesn't mean that it's a park for all dogs. Many dogs lack the proper training necessary to be in an off-leash environment. If your dog has aggressive tendencies it should never be put in these circumstances. Example, if your dog has made multiple dogs whimper/cry, they shouldn't be let off leash. Many people will say "oh he/she is friendly" and the dog will approach your dog in a dominant stance and proceed to pin your dog down. Usually this is followed by "oh he/she is just playing... (insert dogs name here) be nice!" Yeah no thanks, leash your dog up or get them the proper training before you introduce him/her to this environment. End rant. I will say that the park is well maintained and has ample space for your dog to roam. The park has many poop bag & trash stations, so picking up after your pet isn't difficult. A huge issue I've noticed in NJ is the abundance of ticks. However, I have not found a single tick on my dog after going to this park. She also absolutely adores the River.

This was a wonderful park to bring my dog! They have an open field area (not fenced) for dogs to run around and there are also two fenced in areas, one side is for small dogs and the other is for large dogs. My dog had a little doodle meet up with some of his pals in the fenced in area and I was very impressed with how clean and big the park is. We will definitely be returning!

A seriously dream for dogs (but please only if you're well behaved!!! This is a must). It's fenced in once you get to the fence and it's awesome for dogs who are well trained. I live about an hour away but I'll always take the hike for my pups.. they absolutely love this place and could spend all day there. We have met so many great owners and dogs there... you just feel happy bc everyone is so kind and the dogs are in heaven. They have lots of fun interactive games and things for your dogs to do... from tunnels to pyramids to hiking to swimming or just a big old open field for your dog to go crazy in. I wish they had one of these everywhere because it's just so awesome.

This must be what dog heave looks like. If you have a dog- you MUST go here. It is and AMAZING dog park. When you arrive at Freedom Park it seems like your typical park- but walk towards the wooded area on the left and you will enter New Jersey's best dog park. The space is open and green with plenty of room to let your dog run free. There are a few different sections of the park: 1. open grass areas 2. a training/social area 3. a hiking trail with dog swimming opportunities. The open grass area are great for running, fetch, and some one on one time with your dog. The training and social area is my personal favorite. This is a big open area with a few training items- a balance beam, a seesaw, poles to jump over, etc. I didn't see too many dogs using these items- but it was the place for all dogs to play. The river was also pretty awesome, and very unique to Freedom Park. There are a few areas in the river that are better to swim in then others and all the dogs seems to get along great. Watch out- it can get pretty muddy. I let my dog off the leash when I was at the swimming area and the social area. I leashed her for walking in between because the area is so big- but alot of people had their dogs walking free. A few tips: 1. Bring water and a water bowl. 2. Bring a towel. Your dog will get wet- either from swimming or other dog's drool. 3. Bring some treats- a good way to get your dog back to you. 4. Don't wear nice shoes- things can get muddy. At the very least I will be going to Freedom Park monthly.

This is a great dog park to bring your pooch! Huge, massively large expanses of fields to let your dog run their energy out! A bit hard to find the actual 'dog park' section of the park. Basically from the parking lot, walk right thru the playground area, straight thru to the very far left corner of the tree line. It also looks like a great park to hang out at with kids or friends. In addition to the dog park, near the parking area there are gazebos w/ picnic tables & charcoal grills, playground equipment, volleyball courts, basketball courts, a frisbee golf course, and bathrooms. Recently came here w/ my lab, with the main intention of letting him swim in the river (and if he wouldn't go in the water himself, I would go in with him). Well, I didn't need to go in with him as the other dogs playing/swimming in the river already coaxed him in. Also, the river itself isn't suitable for human swimming (not deep enough, and kind of dirty), and the super slippery muddy area all along the banks of the river didn't allow me to get anywhere close to the river w/o fear of falling in the mud. In addition to the river area, there's also multiple large fields in which to let your dog roam. One of these, the first one you enter in the dog park, has dog agility features (seesaw, ladders, jump bars, etc.) to entertain your pups. I would also recommend bringing a frisbee, ball or other throwing toy for your dog to chase after. Also bring a bowl and water, as other than the river, there aren't any fountains or water supply within the dog park. In doing a quick google-image search to find an overall map of the park, I came across this great review of the different areas w/ an aerial photo. From this review it also looks like maybe not all the dog areas are fully fenced in. Just fyi: http://home.comcast.net/~rdfrench2/bigreddog/park.htm

Wow! This dog park is HUGE! I just recently moved to New Jersey from Hawaii and my little puppy is used to being outside running free with all the beaches and hikes that we did. So I've been looking for parks to take him. He's got endless amounts of energy so he really needs a lot of room to run and tire himself out. This park surely did not disappoint with how big the area was! Unfortunately, we came during the winter time and it had been a few days since it's rained, so it was a bit muddy! But that's ok, Chewy was due for a bath anyways! From the parking lot, just follow the trail towards the volleyball nets and you'll see the entrance to the dog park. You can then unleash your doggies and let them run free!! There were so many different fields and so many different trails, you can spend more than a few hours exploring. Through the woods, there was a little stream there.. not sure how clean it is but it was a little frozen when we went so I didn't let my dog go in. Although he wanted too, I think he misses the beach! We walked different trails and finally found a group of other dogs that he can run around and play with for a little bit. There's also some little agility obstacle equipment stuff that you can teach your dog to play and do some tricks. The park is big enough that if you just wanted to take a break from the other dogs and play ball with your dog, you can. I can't wait to come back when it's nicer weather. I bet it's super pretty too. The park has lots of trash cans and poop bags throughout. Best dog park so far for me in South Jersey! I will definitely be bringing my doggy back!

I took my Great Dane puppy to this park today. What a horror this ended up to be. I will NEVER go again. The goal was to socialize and exercise him, but some of those dogs were out of control. There's a group of regulars that go around 10:30 am. I was chastised and told that I need to get him neutered because their dogs were attacking mine BECAUSE he is not neutered yet. Even after I explained it's better for my dogs health, being that he's a giant breed, to wait till he's 2. My dog is very submissive and playful. Either way, I only gave 2 stars because of the nice trails and the two nice young ladies we met. He did get to play with their German Shepherd. But he's all scratched up from the other ones.

This is by far the best dog park in the area! It's not just your typical gated field although there are enclosed fields but my dog loves the trails. There is a swimming hole or 2 so be prepared for wet visits from other 4 legged friends!

In an effort to quell the debaucherous fire within, I thought I'd win points with god by taking my dog, Giles, for a romp in Freedom Park. The drive through South Jersey isn't a pleasant one, Rt 70 is full of stop lights and strip malls, but once you arrive at Freedom Park, it's field and games for as far as the eye can see. There's beach volleyball, a skate park, an organic community garden, a disc golf course (not super impressive though), a basketball court, a soccer field, a kid's playground, and of course, a gigantic off leash dog park...so big that we didn't even cover it all. The legions of dogs and their owners making the mass exodus from the gated area means you're headed in the right direction. Once inside, you can hit up the agility course where your talented animal can wobble on the see-saw or dart over hurdles. Giles steered clear of the smart dog area and opted for the swimming creek; he's pure brute. Take a short hike over the wooden bridge and just when you think you're in the middle of the woods, you'll find all the adventurous water dogs plunging into the creek to fetch wooden sticks or tennis balls. It's a sight to behold. Make your city dog happy and take him/her on a 30 minute drive into the wilderness. This place is like a theme park for dogs and not too bad for the humans either.

This place is dog heaven. More a dog oasis then a dog park. If you have an outdoorsy pup, go and go often.
