I see there is still a very high rate of turnover - which shows this problem has not been rectified. The Rev. Michael P. Barham, the Vicar of the Holy Family Episcopal Church whom is supposed to be the head authority, I found to be conveniently out of the office whenever help was sought about the ongoing problems. I found this to be very disappointing as a Vicar/ clerical/pastor level, when he was needed he was not to be found.

My son has been attending there for about 6 months now, and he's grown in so many ways. He makes friends easily wherever we go; he offered to set the table out of the blue; he's great at putting on his own clothing, socks and shoes, etc.. And more important than any of that, he is having fun, and clearly feels safe and well cared-for while there. The physical environment is so inviting. It's an old farmhouse, repurposed into a church and school. Very homey. Very comfortable. And the grounds are spacious, well-kept, and private. The kids can run, and bike, play ball, and use the large play structure they have, and they do - every day features at least some outdoor play. It should be noted, that while the school is on the grounds of an Episcopal Church, it's not a religious school. All religious and non-religious backgrounds are welcomed and will be comfortable at HFCC. The school's curriculum is based upon the Reggio Emilia approach for project-based, child-led learning. It's the only preschool on the Coast that does Reggio, and it's really special... not your average one-size-fits-most ABCs/123s while seated at a tiny desk experience... so much more creative and engaging! Lastly, the parents of HFCC kids seem to be universally excellent folks. I've really enjoyed getting to know them during drop-offs, and at after-hours events (fundraising, volunteer work-days, informational meetings, etc.). HFCC is a lovely community, for both our children, and ourselves.

I look forward to the daily report/assessments of my son. Her feedback whether it be positive or negative is constructive. We came from a co-op which felt too loosey-goosey and I felt like the Pre-K fundamentals weren't being taught. I hadn't realized that both play and learning could be taught together. I had thought it was either all learning or all play based. Nurture and Nature embraces both beautifully. Get your application in early as they do fill up. When we drop him off, he gives his teachers big hugs. All of them are so sweet too. I'm also impressed with the organized calendar we get every month. He engages in fun activities related to the holidays, palersize, Friday bicycle day, and more. He even says his prayers before lunch, which we've incorporated at dinner time at home. Logistically, I'm so thankful for the hours offered. We don't always have him there all day , but we can if needed. Additionally, I appreciate the respect they have for his clothes. Despite all the art and outside play, he always comes back clean and never has missing clothes (quite the opposite of his original daycare). They use brightwheel to track everything so we know about his every snack, potty, and nap. It's helpful as we potty train him too. Lastly, the pricing is fair. Here are some things I would highlight. - Teachers with vast experience : Miss Perry has been leading Millbrae Montessori for nearly 40 years and is the most kind, passionate and incredible teacher you would ever get. She, along with Miss Nicolle and all the other teachers are just the best set of teachers you want for your kids at this age. Kids love them, they help impart life skills and also help gain confidence. Our daughter absolutely loves all the teachers and loves to be at the school everyday - Diversity : Our daughter has learnt from a diverse set of teachers and students. The teachers encourage learning multiple languages, celebrating different festivals and that has been such an amazing experience - Focus on learning by doing - Extra curriculars - Kids get to do plays, go for fun short trips, participate in festivities, field visits which helps them grow everyday - Regular feedback - The teachers are always willing to share regular feedback - Warmth- Last but not the least, we have been blessed that the teachers here offer warmth to all the kids. Enthusiastically recommend MSLM for other families looking for a well-rounded education (age-appropriate STREAM/SEL) and phenomenal educators in a very supportive environment for their kids. Children learn a lot because everyone at MSLM does a great job of making learning fun, interesting, and challenging. MSLM celebrates the uniqueness of each child, with teachers regularly customizing lessons to meet the individual needs of the children. The school is very organized thanks to top-notch administration. Communication is outstanding. MSLM is exceptionally dedicated (as evidenced in part by remaining safely open in-person during the entirety of COVID). It is also a kind and friendly place. MSLM is an absolute gem. She recently came home telling me that we live on earth, and people fall because if gravity! She's only 3! I was blown away. The school has lots of field trips. Multiple outside teachers to come in and teach music and foreign language. I feel like all the parents are very involved, which is great, it's like a small community for you and your little one. They have tricycles, sand toys, a vegetable garden, swings, a giant play structure, a mud kitchen...the list goes on. The new Director has super creative ideas and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to kids this age. The Co-op structure is brilliant. It really is the answer to the 'village' we all need as parents, but no longer have. If you want a school where you get to know all the other families and their kids, and create lifelong friendships, this is the place for you. I've also learned a ton about my own kids (my 2nd just started at PCNS this fall) - how they operate in their first real social group, what their challenges are, etc. AND I have learned plenty about parenting, from watching how the teachers handle big feelings and tricky situations, to seeing my peer-parents with their own children. PCNS is a play-based school, and what the children really learn is how to interact with each other socially, and appropriately in a classroom.
